He was very responsive but also very expensive and his work wasn't as quality as I was hoping. There were a few things he did great - the tile work was fantastic and he got the remodel done in less than a month. But he didn't tell us about a leak that was in our basement that was a result of the water being shut off, we had to call our own plumber when we discovered it later. (He never mentioned the leak but when we asked, he did provide two plumbers names.) His team stained our carpet. They used drop clothes for most of the work but for the final days those were gone. And although our carpet isn't new, I try to keep it clean, we live here. He did take his shoes off after I asked. He hung a stone shelf in our shower without checking the height with us first and when I told him it was too high and I didn't like it, he said he couldn't adjust it. I don't know why where to put it wasn't confirmed with us first. He said nothing about the height restrictions or whatever he mentions below when I expressed my disappointment at the placement. Finally the photo showing the silicon is to bridge the gap between the vanity and the wall. He put a strip of silicon there but then needed to insert a baseboard on the side. He moved the vanity to do so, but he didn't remove the first strip of silicone before putting another strip on after the baseboard went in. My husband just took off the strip this week, and there were clearly two layers of silicone there. I think he just was rushing to be done with our project at the end but I thought the fact he didn't suggest a better looking solution till I complained was frustrating. His immediate response when I told him I didn't like how it looked was " you picked the vanity, don't blame me." The overall appearance looks nice but for the money we paid, the devil is in the details. Listen, you can use whatever contractor you want. Maybe I have expectations that others don't. There are many options for contractors. If you want to hire one that will get into a "he said she said" battle over Yelp, or criticize your floor furnishings, you can use Dan. read more

We are happy to recommend Dan of B.C. Tile Creations, who recently completed a renovation of our master bathroom. We interviewed 4 other contractors before deciding on Dan. The other contractors were more expensive and suggested changes we didn't want. The bathroom was in the original condition from when we first bought the house 25 years ago (it was 7 years old when we bought). We didn't change the room's footprint or do any modifications that required a permit. Our plan was to update and refresh with cosmetic changes. Dan listened to us and did not try to talk us into anything that we didn't want. He let our choices evolve along the way with guidance but without pressure, even though the process lengthened a bit as we modified our plan. Initially, we thought about keeping the existing tile floor, and keeping the stained woodwork. In the end, we decided on all new Calacatta tile for the walls and floor, and painted the woodwork and existing vanity white. We kept the original jetted tub and had Dan's associate reglaze it. We replaced and upgraded the shower fixtures and frameless shower doors, painted the walls with Benjamin Moore Revere Pewter, and installed a new quartz counter with new Toto faucets. Dan was honest, trustworthy and reliable as were his assistants. He addressed every issue that came up along the way with great follow up. His team cleaned up after every day's work and treated every space respectfully. Dan's communication with us was always diligent and timely. We are thrilled with the finished product and with all the choices we made, and can strongly recommend Dan for similar projects. read more

I am updating my review. Dan never returned my many messages about installing new faucets due to the original ones being defective. The new plumber I had to hire (after having Dan completely renovate 2 full bathrooms $$$), said the plumbing to the sink was leaking, causing the new vanity paint to come off. He was a master plumber and said the plumbing was not up to code. The baseboard on one of the bathrooms was never attached properly and is lifting off the the wall. I cannot say enough about BC Tile Creations and the incredible work Dan did for our home. Dan came into our project towards the end during a time of chaos and uncertainty. He willingly took on a massive project having to create two small bathrooms and one massive master bathroom. All of the bathrooms had issues due to poor framing and Dan did not even blink. He worked with us to address the problems showing great patience and creativity. He worked diligently to make sure we are happy sometimes working 8+ hours a day to make sure we met deadlines. Here really cared about our the importance of our project to our family. We renovated our home in order to care for a relative diagnosed with Alzheimer's and Parkinson's disease. Dan wanted to make sure they would be comfortable in their space even installing the necessary grab bars for their safety! The guy is a superhero!
