We visited here about three times to pick up tiles and the staff and designers are more than happy to help us. Overall, I have to say, great quantity tiles being sold here. We got the pleasure of meeting the owner, who's been running the business for 30-40 or so years. He is more than approachable and knowledgeable about what he does. He seems to be very proud of the high quality product lines they carry. Nice small (or large) business in the area highly recommend for anyone doing renovation work around the house. Tile is stunning and customer service was wonderful but when they delivered the tile to my house the truck dumped a large amount of oil onto my brand new (2 months) driveway. We ran out quick to get stuff to get the oil up but did not work. Huge stain now. Called them, thought maybe we would get some type of credit - nope, just told us how to get the oil out. -excellent tile selections though. Wanted to go back to get my kitchen back splash. and we are re doing my bathroom next and wanted to go back there for our tile but now we won't. read more

Nice selection of tile but the saleswoman was seriously unhelpful. After looking at some of the other positive reviews maybe I got stuck with a not so great salesperson or caught her on a bad day. I got one word responses to any questions. When I asked if she could help me figure out a good pattern for the tile she asked, "Pattern, what do you mean by pattern?" Really? I purchased two containers of grout at this establishment, and learned later the same day that the proper grout had already been provided by my contractor. I brought both containers back the next day only to be told that no returns were allowed on these products. To be fair, this was printed on the invoice along with other fine print, but I hadn't noticed it and the salesperson never pointed it out. The grout was very expensive, $38.95 for a 25 lb. bag and $27.02 for an 8 lb. carton. Since the packages were brand new, never opened, and only 24 hours in my possession, I was very upset by what seemed a rigid and arbitrary policy. I checked the same day with another Tile store up the road from Roma and was assured that they would have allowed the return. I would not go back to Roma Tile, and certainly never buy grout there when Home Depot has a perfectly good product for less than half the price. I confess I'm a neophyte when it comes to purchasing building materials, but this was an expensive "mistake" and I would think a store in with so much competition on the same street would work harder at pleasing its customers. read more

I have purchased tile at Roma Tile for over 15 years and, with numerous projects, that adds up to over 20 bathrooms. Their selection and stock is always excellent. The tile is beautiful and high quality. The salespeople are extremely knowledgeable and work to be helpful in any and all ways. I recently went there to find tile for a new project, having not needed to purchase tile for several years, and as always the service and attention were excellent. Margaret, who worked with me, was initially unaware of my previous purchases and yet greeted me with warmth, enthusiasm and welcome. She was terrific to work with. Later in the process, including when I picked up my beautiful tile yesterday, I was fortunate to see Michael again, who had helped me with projects years ago. We just tiled our bathroom ourselves (pure hell) but getting our tiles at Roma tile was great. The staff is really friendly and helpful and gives you good advice before you start your project. Roma tile is awesome! We purchased tile for 5 1/2 baths and the process was made as easy as possible. Michelle is amazing! Not only is she pleasant all the time but she really knows her stuff, tile design, nuances of installation, proper grout choices etc etc etc! Just like Julie S., I too was burned by their needlessly strict return policy. I bought a $50 bottle of sealant but when I realized that it would not be enough to cover my entire bathroom, I went back and bought a second, larger bottle. I held onto both bottles until the project was complete in case I needed both - I figured it would save me a trip if I ran out - but since I only needed the larger bottle I went to return the other. They would not accept it even though it was unopened, with a receipt, and within 1 week of purchase. Never again will I go to a place that obviously only cares about my money. I already found the same product for less on Amazon.com and they accept returns. read more

I walked into Roma Tile a few months ago and said to the young woman that I approached that I really did not like tile back-splashes, but my contractor had convinced me that I needed one behind the stove in my newly remodeled kitchen. As we walked around the store, she asked me about my likes/dislikes, and I showed her pictures of the current kitchen that I was waiting to be demolished. I showed her the one wall that was going to be saved because the faux painting included a stone arch at the entrance to the kitchen. The colors on this faux painted wall were the colors that were going to be used throughout the kitchen. I also showed her a sample of the floor, as well as a sample of the cabinets. Having to leave for a meeting, when I returned two hours later, she took me directly to a selection of stone tiles that had every color of the kitchen, was sedate as I had wanted, and matched the faux painted walls beautifully!! There was nothing else that I wanted to see because her choice was perfect. We determined which color grout to use, how to construct the end row, and she even suggested that I could arrange the tile pattern for the installer to follow. It was a wonderful experience, especially considering that up to this point I did not like tile back-splashes. The only reason why this review is late in coming is that I wanted to wait until the tile arrived and was installed to write it. The tile was in excellent condition when it arrived, and the colors were perfect. I was so pleased with my initial encounter in the store that I complemented her in front of the owner (I just wish I could remember her name). I would definitely return to Roma. read more

RUN - DO NOT WALK AWAY FROM ROMA TILE. Correct, they have nice tile, but there are two tile stores within a mile that have an equally good selection and they are much more pleaant to deal with and more customer friendly in terms of how they treat you, return policies and lending tiles to take home. Bottom line Roma Tile is not oriented to their customer. While the poor sales person was helpful and gracious, the floor manager was extremely rude. They like their rules. Don't put the tile on the floor (we are talking a floor tile store). Found the attitude in that store shocking. Suggest Watertown Tile down the street across from Home Depot. A little mom-pop shop the owner knows his tile so you are not just getting a sales person, and their return polices are extremely flexible. Again, with so many good options in the area, no need to subject yourself to ROMA. read more

I walked into Roma and was greeted by a smiling face. What could be better?? Well it got better and better. I was on a deadline and had been searching for floor tiles that a.)I liked and b.) I could get before my contractor disappeared. Roma has a great selection of tiles that you can get within two days!!!!! And they are beautiful. And they let you take as many samples home as you want. And they have great salespeople who take the time to talk to you like you really matter to them. And they draw floor plans and help you figure out patterns and caulk colors. And did I mention they smile and are pleasant ?? Why should this be something I have to write about?? But it is ... Because this place and the people who work there and the products they sell make me want to go back and do all the rest of my floors. I think I will!! read more

Super helpful and competent contractor desk. Patiently spent a couple hours(!) discussing and pricing out various options centered around a non-standard Wedi installation. Everything I needed was in stock. (I have not dealt with the tile showroom portion of the store, so no opinion there.) Something to be aware of: return policy is *atrocious* (30 days with very steep restocking fee) so you need to know what you want. Depending on what you are buying, the prices vary from great to bad relative to online prices. With the Wedi system, this seems to be as good a place as any (local or online) to buy the panels themselves and some (but not all) of the accessories. read more

We visited Roma tile based on word of mouth from many people. We walked in with some ideas and worked with Margaret Mennino who was very professional and knowledgeable. Our bathroom renovation began well but we ran into a very serious problem when our newly installed bathtub turned out to not be the true white color that we anticipated. As a result, our wall and floor tiles did not match. I sent some photos of the installed tub and tile contrast to Margaret noting that removing the tub was going to be our last option. With a stalled bathroom project already two weeks behind schedule and a bathtub color we did not choose, Margaret came to our aide. She visited our home that evening with a new tile selection in hand. Within 36 hours we had new wall tile and floor tile ordered for pick up within a day. In the end, we came away with a bathroom we enjoy even more than the original plan. Margaret was instrumental in getting our bathroom project underway and she relieved a tremendous amount of stress for our family. She was also incredibly helpful in taking back as much of our original unused tile and grout product as possible. We highly recommend Roma tile and we look forward to working with them again soon. read more

After having a really bad customer service experience with the showcase down the street, I went to Roma based on my contractor's recommendation. Although the showroom may not be as impressive as the place down the street, they do seem to have a wide selection of tile at various price points. Since I ended up in a situation where I needed tile quickly, the Roma salesperson, Victor, looked into expediting a stone order and was able to come up with solution that didn't cost an arm and leg. In the end, I was able to find an Italian ceramic option that was just a beautiful and it arrived in two days without any expedited fee. Victor was knowledgeable and helpful, helped my choose matching grouts and sent me on my way with samples of the tile I had purchased which was REALLY helpful. Pickup at the warehouse was quick and easy and they careful made sure I had everything I ordered before leaving. I ended up being a few tiles short so I called Roma to ask about putting in an order for more tile. Someone answered the phone--which is quite different from the other place--and was able to help me over the phone. Overall, I'm extremely pleased with Roma and will be going back for tile as I renovate the other rooms in my home. read more

While the showroom seems large, we had problems finding someone to help us even after signing in at the counter. The woman who eventually came to us kept wandering away to handle phone calls and other visitors despite there being a receptionist..sometimes disappearing for 15 min at a stretch without any explanation. She brushed off my complaint about not setting customer expectations very well (e.g. if she had said they were short-handed we would have understood but to keep us repeatedly hanging while she helped others who walked in w/o appointments wasn't good customer service). She was somewhat helpful when she was with us, but no one offered us any samples to take home to check colors or explanations of what different pieces were offered in the style we liked (we ended up googling). There was nothing we looked at that was in stock...all was 2-3 week delays in ordering. We did end up ordering tile for one bathroom as our contractor preferred this place but are going elsewhere for the other two bathrooms and kitchen work. I suppose if you knew exactly what you wanted and weren't in a rush this place would do, but for advice and design support it fails. read more
