I was in the market for a kitchen, master bath, and floor remodel in my home. I have lots of friends in construction, but I was wise enough to know better than to hire "friends" to do the job. I am extremely picky and OCD when it comes to detail and cleaning. I used Better Business Bureau to find local remodeling companies. I did this because I trust the BBB and I wanted a company which I would not pay if the job was not completed in accordance with the contract and my expectations; also, another reason to not hire a "friend." I called several companies and among all my projects, I had 11 quotes. I did not choose the cheapest. I chose the company that was the most responsive and seemed eager to do my work. I am glad I did. I choose Tile Metrics, located in Oviedo. I went to the shop and met with staff. My wife and I were able to choose all our products from this location. The store seems small and quite busy. Don't let that fool you. They have so much product and ideas to offer. Now to the important part. From beginning to end, the company stayed in contact with me. They emailed and sometimes called me almost daily to coordinate work, projects, and keep me informed. This was exactly what I wanted. They are also a one-stop shop in that they do almost all the work themselves. No separate contractors to deal with, just one single point of contact. Most of the work was done by an in-house crew, which if you do not know, is very important. The worker men that came to my house were clean cut, polite, professional, and did top notch work. Can you imagine having a remodel with almost no complaints? All you hear are horror stories about remodeling your home. Tile Metrics took care of everything. They did all the flooring in my house, including removing old tile and hardwood floors (dustless), new kitchen quartz countertops and back splash. Moved plumbing and electrical. Installed new toilets in 2 bathrooms. And a complete master bath remodel with everything new. The work was done quickly without delay. Once they started, they stayed on my project until it was done. For the parts of the projects they did not do in-house, the subs were equally good. As for price, they were fair and probably in the middle to lower end of all my quotes. I have no complaints, which is rare of me. I will be hiring Tile Metrics again in the future to complete more projects at my home, as soon as I save up more money. read more

Do not trust these guys! We've now had to hire another flooring company to remove the damaged flooring Tile Metrics put down and install new flooring the correct way! Tile Metric did not use a moisture barrier which was clearly stated on the box the flooring came in. They flat out refuse to admit to their mistake and fix the issue. We had kitchen back splash put in around the counters and on the island. We chose rock. They showed up when they said they would. Communication was excellent and it so happened they didn't install everywhere they said they would. We came home to find the job incomplete. When I picked up the phone I anticipated a battle but was pleasantly surprised when they agreed to come out and fix it within days. After 233 ( aka 8 months) Long Drown Out , Agrivating, Frustrating, Time Consuming, Costly, Disarray, Ridiculous, unprofessional, Unacceptable, Days, the HALF of the bathroom and bedroom floor project, that I hired Tile Metrics for, is finally complete. No one should ever face what I did, especially after being a second time customer who referred 3 other jobs to them. That was a big mistake!!! I had gone with them, because my first project experience was fine after they fixed the 2 flaws that I pointed out. That project was 2 years prior, when it entailed the whole floor throughout the house and quartz for the kitchen counters. . What was different this time, was that the first project didn't include electric, plumbing, construction or something else that requires a county permit. If I knew what I know now, I would have never gone with them. Long story short, we agreed to have them in charge of our shower, bath, bench, and floors renovation that involved plumbing, demo, and construction. Permits were never ordered originally, because it wasnt requested from them or us. Things changed though, Once we got a violation notice in the mail from Seminole County and were required by the county to get them. We stopped all work at that point after finding that out. Ill admit, Permits were not ordered, because it was an option by them. Permits were not ordered, because we were told it would be more time consuming, and they could complete it faster if we didnt have to go that rout. . Permits were not ordered, because I thought their staff seemed knowledgeable about the work and we could save time and cost. Permits were not ordered, because I didnt know what would happen if I didnt get them, like I do today. This should have been a big red flag for me, once I got the violation notice. I should have fired them than. To me after reflecting back, it seems shady that they even allowed us that option. What I didnt know, is that without a permit your having a person doing illegal work, that could cost you more later. The consequences in the long run like this, has cost me, so much more. Those costly consequences being time, money, damage and possibly injury if someone gets hurt on the job. Remind you : it took 233 DAYS from when we started our project inside the house, till the last day they physically left our house. (August 15 2022- April 6th 2023 again 8 months) . Some examples of why you need a permit is because if you ever want to sell your property, you have to show proof that a licensed person did the work by the book vs. Doing it how they think it should get done without a record to show. By law when selling your property you have to have permits for plumber, construction, demo, electric and many other permit required projects or they will make you dig up the work to show it was done correctly /legally. They otherwise can make you hire a real licesenced worker to do the work, before the sale to the new owner, can be finalized. With that alone, costing you more in the long run. Another reason, is if damaged was done in reguards to that project or after that project and you made an insurance claim like flooding, the insurance may not cover it, if it wasnt done by a licensed worker to begin with. Thats a good excuse for the insurance to not cover the problem. These are All good reasons you should get a permit. After we got caught, Tile Metrics hired outside work with licenses and did get permits for all the required work that they were involved with. I wish I fired them though, as soon as we figured this all out because I dont imagine any other company taking 233 DAYS. Aka 8 months...I truley felt pushed to the side after the county became involved. We were lucky to see them or one of their outsourced companies once a week for an hour or 2 if at all. It was their unorganizing of the work that was so time consuming. Scheduling themselves or the outsourced work based when they had availablity rather than aiming to get it done sooner than 233 DAYS or 8 months. I would be curious if there would have been less accidents, had they seen the project from day to day vs. Week to week. Now everytime I walk in my master bathroom, I'm reminded how long it took to complete this . On the plus side the fact that they took so long to do the work, the flaws that were big eye sores were adressed. If your in need of tile they did an ok job on the floor but if your needing any permit requirment work, make sure they get one, for you or you should hire one who has that license to legally do it. From my opinion though of waiting 233 DAYS.. I would never have them be the coordinator of the project or renovation. read more

Beware.. The reviews are truly hard to believe. Tile Metric Installer was not experienced to do the project. Horrible, faulty job on my kitchen tile. Ana and Rolando, owners refused to come out and take a look. Bickering with us on the phone, sending unprofessional emails. When I tell you the lady Ana was out of line and not listening. Liked to argue with us but would not send out someone to inspect for anything. Refused after asking 3 times to please come out and look. Their installer took pictures and they are going by that. Said our tile was supposed to look that way. lol We then went to a showroom and sent them a copy of the uniformed, straight wonderful sample from another store. Obvious, Installer zipped thru the job and it shows. Instead of custom it was a production job. 2 DAY JOB told to us, WAS FINISHED IN 3 1/2 HOURS. They had called without an appt in the afternoon. At 2pm showed up as a fill-in from a bathroom job he could not finish that day. Tile installed with material still wet, not allowed to dry PROPERLY. Grout to date extremely flaking off on counter capable of getting on our food. Most unprofessional if you have a problem with these people. Can you imagine not coming out to the customer's house to view the problem. Legal action may be the only alternative. The entire job has to be demo'd and redone. It will now cost us double to redo the lousy, crooked, lippaged job. Makes you dizzy when you look at the crooked tile. Honestly, I'm flabbergasted. We had a very large project and wanted to support a local vendor vs Home Depot or Lowes. Lesson learned. 3/26 we took delivery of $1300 in ledger stone. Rolando was nice, delivered to us on a Saturday and him and his young son (10-12) unloaded in to our home. We are doing a major renovation and the stone was stacked in our house. He asked who was installing and we already have an amazing tile guy who was doing our floors, so we politely told him we have someone lined up. Fast forward two weeks as our tiler started to do the pool wall and we found almost half the stone was broke. I called the bank as I paid with check and Rolando cashed it the same day as delivery. Hmm We immediately contacted Rolando and he played the blame game. Stating if he did the work he could "help us". BS he sold crappy broken product and was mad we didn't use him to install. After multiple calls and text he said to please let him know how much we were short. We ended up being 24sq ft short $7 sq/ft so over $200 in waste. His response was his supplier couldn't do anything. After some more discussion in the tile community, this is his MO. It's the retailers job to go to bat for his customer. Not Rolando. We had wood look tile installed in our master bedroom and guest bedroom. We had gone to many different stores looking for the tile we wanted, but couldn't find it. The office staff at Tile Metrics was very helpful in showing us the many sample tiles they have available. She ordered a sample of a tile that she thought was what we wanted and it was exactly what we wanted. The owner came out in a timely manner and gave us a quote. I was concerned about grout lines being too wide, he assured me that they would be 1/16 of an inch. The installers came out and removed the carpet and got started. We are so happy that we stumbled across Tile Metrics! Rolando was so nice from the start to the finish. The price he had to offer for the wood look tile floors were the best along with the installation price. He helped us find the best tile that fit our budget and looks gorgeous in our new home. The installation started on time even though some of the tile that was delivered was broken from the manufacture. Rolando delivered it himself when we weren't home and he immediately contacted us when he noticed and was replaced with new tile the following day. Tile metrics took care of doing about 1000 square feet of flooring in our new house. We had numerous delays due to the builder taking forever to close on the house and tile metrics never gave us any issues on the constant rescheduling. We have had a fireplace updated and refinished, an entire main living space tiled with wood looking tile, a kitchen backsplash that came out stunning and our last project was a complete update of our Master Bathroom..... We started with the idea to have porcelain wood like tiles for our entire home as part of a remodel of our 21 year old home. Anna allowed me to bring multiple samples, multiple times to my home and "live with them, move them around". This level of personal service was awesome! Once chosen, work was competed in a timely and professional manner with minimal mess. We then decided to then remove ALL of the dated popcorn ceilings and repainted the entire interior in all my dream colors. Rolando was able to help us with ALL of those projects by referrals.
