Would you want to do business with a company that will not give you the owner's name or their insurance provider's name? This business is very sneaky. First, the business name is Carr's Flooring, but they do business under American Flooring, but they registered the business with the state of Florida using another name. They do this to make it harder for disgruntled customers to contact the owner or file a claim against them. That is bad business practice. They also will create positive reviews to filter down the negative ones. They also encourage customers to sign satisfaction forms upon completing the job not giving you time to inspect their work. Do Not Sign Anything! They outsource their work to below-standard contractors that damage your personal belonging and walls. I regret doing business with this company. They are sneaky with bad business practices. They focus on profits and don't care about you. They are professionals at being sneaky as memorialized above. Run as fast as you can. Overall, the floors in our home look great but for the last 2 months we had to deal with soo many complications and headaches.The 2 major problems with my whole experience with Flooring of America was Brandon and the team of contractors (Joesph and his crew) that laid the floors in our new home that destroyed our walls and baseboards! We had to pay a paint company $4000 to repaint our whole house and fix our baseboards- this caused weeks of delay to move into our new home. My biggest complaint was Brandon, who did not live up to any of his promises! Looking back, it was truly scary to witness the pre contract Brandon vs post contract Brandon. Let's just say, he lies to customers telling them that he is a floor salesman and not a manager so he doesn't have to give discounts! Another red flag that I missed was when he advised me use a credit card for payment, so in case there were any issues we can report for damages. Brandon is just that good at making you feel like he is this swell guy who is looking out for your best interests but it's all a ruse to get you to sign. Once you sign, he ghosts you and is just on to the next. Once we signed, the first thing is to get my account on the schedule once the product arrives to the warehouse. Well, mistake #1 Brandon failed to let the floor scheduler know that our wood planks arrived to the warehouse where they just sat for 2 weeks. This caused us a 2 week delay in moving into our home! It just went all downhill from there. He was not answering my calls so I had to call someone else to get a hold of the scheduler. He told me that he would be with me every step of the way, would make sure to put me with the best crew they had, and that there would be no problems. The main floor contractor came out to fix our baseboards and walls but could not get it right. We were sick of waiting for them to keep coming out to fix when we just wanted to move into our brand new home that we just decided to hire a company to come in and paint our walls and redo our baseboards. Joesph & his team of contractors completely destroyed all of the baseboards and walls in our home! This costed us money and time! By the time it took us to find a company to paint our house and fix our baseboards it took a total of a week and half for them to complete our home. The 2 weeks our floors sat in a warehouse, plus 1 week for us get on the schedule and a 1 week and half to paint our house we ended up paying a whole mortgage without even being in our home. We paid $30k (not including the $4k for fixing walls & baseboards) straight up for our floors and not one call from anyone to apologize for the disrespect these guys did to our brand new home. Do not get fooled like I did by choosing flooring of America! At the end of the project, they will surprise you with a checklist to fill out to confirm everything was completed to your liking. it's funny how they asked me to sign in the dark and the main floor guy was suppose to walk to the house with me, which he did not! We were excited to finally move in our home as the floors was our last project. I really just try to see the good in everyone and that is one of my downfalls. I impulsively signed off saying everything was good but I was not really looking at the walls and baseboards UNTIL the next morning I drove up to the house to look at everything in the natural light and that's when I noticed the damages to the walls and baseboards. After 2 months, they finally showed up last night to fix our thresholds. I've been waiting until everything has been fixed for me to write this review. This has been a major learning lesson for me. If you do end up going with this company, once the project is completed do not feel pressured to sign off on that checklist right away. Give it some thought and make sure you do a full walk thru with the main floor contractor. Another great experience with Flooring America! Our third time getting flooring from them. This time half of our living room was flooded during the hurricane and we went to Flooring America to replace carpet and tile. Brandon managed to get the exact same carpet, plus some new tile, and helped us through every step of the project. We got the installation scheduled very quickly considering it was soon after the hurricane and was during the holidays, and it was all completed in time for us to celebrate New Years in our beautiful new living room. Were it just for the salesperson, I would give 5 stars. Danny went above and beyond to make things right and get my flooring installed on my tricky timeline. However, the first installation crew blew off the installation without any rational explanation. That caused a ridiculous amount of stress, and Danny had to move mountains to get another installer there a couple of days later (this almost delayed moving my family in). Thankfully, the installer, Mike, came through and got the whole flooring project (about 2200 sq ft of LVP and baseboards) done in 1.5 days. I love my new floors. I hired FA to re-tile a bathtub. My experience with the salesperson, Wayne, was friendly enough. However, the tile did not end up being available by the scheduled installation date. What is more, the installer, Alex, refused to wear a mask when I was around despite being unvaccinated . He also refused to do the project when it turned out our bathtub would not work (it was meant for a fiberglass surround), even though we offered to get a replacement tub. We had to scramble, yet again, to find a replacement installer. I credit Danny for reimbursing me what I already had paid for that project. Again, I would give Danny and Mike 5 stars, but I would think very carefully about trusting FA with such an expensive project down the line. read more

From the start of our flooring process, we realized that Flooring America had the right idea. We fell in love with gorgeous vinyl planks that they had laid out in their store and could not find such a unique flooring anywhere else. We were in love. Our home renovations had been a painful process and we wanted to add this gorgeous flooring to the kitchen, dining and living rooms and hallway. We had some specifics and hoped to keep the flow through the house without thresholds. Johnny had his installer come do an assessment so that we could be sure it would be exactly the way we wanted. We held our breath in hopes that this process and huge job would be all we wanted and let me tell you how Flooring America and their product, service and professionalism FAR exceeded our expectations. When the installers arrived they worked efficiently. They checked with me for every threshold and communicated their every move. They were so task-oriented that they paid attention to every last detail. We found just a couple bumpy spots under the flooring due to our terrible terrazzo we had under it and they quickly tore up the new vinyl planks and buffed it down. We have an absolutely perfect floor without a single squishy or squeaky area. They took extra time to assess every inch before finishing installation. They even installed flooring in the closet of the water heater. Every inch of the flooring looks absolutely perfect. They also installed the baseboards that our contractor had provided since we were informed by Johnny that if the contractor installed them it would void our warranty on the flooring. We are truly grateful for Johnny's transparency and advice! Now...maybe someday soon we will tackle the bathrooms and bedroom floors and we will never buy flooring anywhere else again! read more

Flooring America has scheduling issues and they tend to drag their feet unless you call them weekly to complete the job once you place your deposit. We began the process in September 2022 and flooring was not completed until the week of November 21, 2022 when we were told in the beginning that project would be completed in 2 weeks after deposit was made. Also, after flooring was installed we noticed a minor issue that needs to be repaired and after numerous calls/follow ups we are still waiting. Date this review was written 1/23/2023. read more

If I could rate them less I would. They may have pricing on select carpets that seem less than other places but that is where it ends. They say always trust your gut... I should have known when I had to chase their outside company to schedule measurements and have it take nearly 2 weeks. Once he did finally come out, he arrived nearly 2 hours late. His measuremente were 200 Sq ft more than my measurements but ok, there is overage for waste, etc. Flooring America's policy is that after measurements you have to physically go back to the store to sign the contract. This can't be done over the phone or by email, but only in person.... OK whatever. Just another inconvenience. Now is time to schedule the install... Another week or so goes by before they can come out. Again, whatever... People are busy, and I'm OK with that. The installer was now supposed to be at my home at 9am. At 10:30 I get a call from the installer that he is running late. He sounds like he just woke up... He arrives at 12 and looks like he just came off a rough night of whatever... Walks through the house and says he has to measure everything again. In a total of 5 minutes he comes to the conclusion that he is short 4 Sq ft of material and can't do the job. His words were, "we have a problem". Now, the person who came out the first time to measure spent 40 minutes plotting each room and told me that he was a retired engineer, but my hungover installed was able to come up with the fact that he was 4 Sq ft short in 5 minutes. I was told to call the store and figure out another time to have this done. Now, this was a 4 bedroom install where the entire contents of the house was moved to acomodate this install. When I called the store to see what would be done it was like this was no big deal and they would just reschedule the job for another day. When I complained they were quick to say OK, well we will just refund your money then. In complete disgust, I went to a big box store where I paid the same exact price and had the best contractor experience I could ask for. Great customer service and contact throughout the job. Oh ya, and their measure of the home was nearly exactly the same as mine. My experience with Flooring America was a disaster and I would warn you to be careful if considering them. read more

1 star is more than this store deserves. Called to get information about flooring and the guy that answered the phone was rude as he answered the two short questions that I had. When my daughter called back to get some additional information, he yelled "you just called and I told you we had the flooring". First you need to answer the phone like a professional, Second you should not assume you know who you are talking to on the other end, and third if you were having a bad day you need to let someone else answer the phone. I called back to ask him what his problem was but the coward saw my number and just hung up the phone. Becareful they do not HONOR their WARRANTY. Floor installation in my entire home approx. 2500 sq. ft. was completed September 2020 within a month of installation I began to have problems in all areas of my home. After many phone calls to DANNY (salesman) they came to address the problems in November 2020, by December 2020 I had the same problems in the same areas. Again after many calls to DANNY, ROB, call and email to owner JEFF CARR (owner) which was unanswered; they finally attempted to fix the issues in July/August 2021. They send the installer with insufficient materials he was due to come back to finish the job, and never did. He found a lot of problems with the initial installation of which I took pictures and send them to DANNY. As of today my floors are still messed up in multiple areas. JEFF, DANNY, ROB, please do the right thing fix my floors as these floors were not free to me, and HONOR your warranty. read more

I went into the process of installing my floor as a total amateur. I watched a couple of youtube videos and decided I could get it done. I went in and purchased $2600 of vinyl flooring (32 boxes) and 2 rolls of flooring underlay. The salesman named Doug told me that if I had too many boxes, I could just bring them back. I pretty quickly realized that my job did not require underlay and that was taken back. When I finished my job, I had 4.5 boxes left and decided to bring back 3 of them (about $250 worth). Well, they no longer carry my type of flooring in the color I had purchased and Doug's been let go. The two salespeople told me there was nothing they could do and there was no way to speak to the manager (apparently he doesn't answer his phone). I come back the next day and there's still no manger in the store. The salespeople seem sympathetic and tell me to come back the next day when the manager will surely be there. I come back the day after and the manager is not willing to take the boxes back. He also used my first name through the entire conversation and kept his assistant manager present through the conversation which seemed intentional. I was planning on giving the money right back to buy baseboard but I'll be going elsewhere. If you don't know anything about flooring, you may be taken advantage of. read more

While they were certainly happy taking my money when the initial job was done, I could not even convince them to look for materials that the Casselberry store indicated the Orlando store had in stock. I needed to get my floor re-done in my old condo, built in 1968. I wanted new carpet for the living area and tile for the kitchen and bathroom. I went to two other places first before going to Flooring America. The first place was way too expensive for my budget. The other place ended up being about the same price as Flooring America. The reason I went with Flooring America is because Johnny told me they paid their installers more money and they were top-notch professionals. He was correct, they were. Johnny was my sales guy and I liked him from the start. He was knowledgeable and more than willing to work within my budget. He showed me several different types and colors of carpet and tile, explaining to me the advantages of each. I got a small price break which helped out. I would like to mention that the initial quote for my 644 sf condo was $2,100 for everything. After it was measured out, the price was going to be $2,600. That's $500 more. Johnny was able to do some re-figuring and he got the price down to $2,400, to which I agreed. If he hadn't done this, I would've walked and went back to the other place that quoted me a price that was about the same. Thank you , Johnny for helping me out. I know that I got superior service from you guys. The tile guy was the first one scheduled. The first thing Oscar said was that he was going to have to remove the six layers of linoleum that was on my kitchen floor. He explained that it would take him a lot of extra time to do that; but it was necessary and he wouldn't charge me for it. That impressed me very much. It did take a lot of extra time, he worked for six hours the first day just removing all that old flooring. I was so impressed with that, that I've hired Oscar to re-model my bathroom. The carpet guys arrived a couple of days later. Omar and Hector were professionals and very hard workers. they had my new carpet installed in about six hours. I watched them work and I could tell they were great at what they do. My new carpet is gorgeous. It's so soft to walk on and it makes my home look so much better! The tile is gorgeous also. Oscar did a first class job. I can't wait for him to start on my new bathroom! I recommend Flooring America to anyone looking to improve their home. The installers were great, they have the product in stock and they appear to be a first class company. We had been looking for flooring ideas in our house and had been looking at many different sources to find what we wanted. We decided to stop in to Flooring America and really didn't want a high pressure sale since we were still in the "just looking" process. Johnny offered to help, we said we were just looking and he let us look. Then we had a question, then another, then another. He explained the differences in the materials, and the reason for cost differences. He didn't try to upsell us, just factually answered the questions. He was very friendly, and helpful. We bit the bullet and bought the floors. We took home a sample (thankfully we did as the flooring we thought we wanted didn't match our tile) and chose the one we liked. The installers led by Victor arrived early on their first day, they called first like they said they would, and they got to work. They were professional, constantly sweeping, asking about where we wanted the threshold joint to be, installed the quarter round with tapered ends, and have done an amazing job. They are still here, and the two workers have turned into four to complete the job. I would highly recommend Flooring America, I see a lot of work done on homes being a Realtor, and I have seen a lot of mishaps from installers and DIYers.
