I was pleasantly surprised by the tile selection and pricing. Definitely not high end tile, but if you are looking for mid-range tiles that are very reasonably priced this is the place to go. They lost a star being that we had to wait a while to place our order (only a manager and stocker were working but they are hauling butt helping everyone), but once we did get helped we had great service. My man rented a wet saw from there for around $30 per day that made installation a breeze. Both our bathroom and flooring are beautiful thanks to T-4-L! read more

We are hardcore DIYers when possible and absolutely love this store. Great experiences every time....to the point I'm always sad when we are done with a tile project thinking we'll never be back and yet we always find new projects! The employees are so helpful and know their stuff and go the extra mile to make sure your project goes smooth. Since we are always under construction we've purchased our own tools etc but I do know that they rent out their stuff. They will bullnose for you (for a cost of course) if needed and also have classes. Prices are fab. We try to buy off the floor and only once did we special order (multiple times as that project kept evolving as we went) and it was a great experience too. Quick turnaround and the special order prices were quite good as well. Also a great selection of discounted tile. I love going in with an idea in my mind yet being open to new ideas while wandering the showroom. Sadly I think today's trip was one of our last because I honestly can't think of any more tiling projects that could possibly come up...and yet I know we've said these words before so many times ;) read more

We were sold grout that after install was a very different color than the swatch on the box. TFL was no help (wouldn't even refund the grout purchase) even though they recommended the color as a close match to the tile we also bought from them. Now we have to grind it out and replace. This business is taking absolutely no precautions in regards to their employees and customers health and safety during a pandemic and stay at home order. They are open given a consideration of essential service, but they are not wearing masks, providing hand sanitizer, or enforcing a six foot distance. Randy, specifically, made fun of me for keeping a distance while also wearing a mask when I came to the store. He seemed to have a attitude of challenging the validity of COVID19 and it was honestly scary. We will not be supporting this business any longer. read more

I am really sad that I have to give them two stars, because I really liked the shop. They were super helpful, prices seemed right, nice to work with, response was quick etc. I was even recommending them to friends. We had a bathroom remodel that took longer than expected because of the snow days, so the contractor had to push out some projects. I had already bought everything in December and the contractor started working on our bathroom in April. By the time everything was finished I wanted to return a few unopened boxes of grout etc. and they refused because their return policy is only 30 days! 30 days is too short in this kind of business and does not meet customer needs. Many remodels take longer than 30 days from start to finish, so watch out. I would give them 5 stars if they had a different return policy. read more

Purchased an epoxy, sanded grout on their recommendation. First batch mixed per directions came out like play do. Talked to them and it was 'because we used a mixer' (even though it says to use a low speed mixer). 2nd batch, mixed by hand: same result. Their solution? They're going to talk to the company because we evidently have received the only two bad batches around. No refund, no solution, no nothing. Sorry, they did do one thing: 5% discount for MORE of the same product. Thanks for nothing. Ok 5% more than nothing. read more

Met David at a Home Show in Seattle. He seemed like a nice guy and very knowledgeable. We live in Bellingham so over the phone I placed an order for about $2,500 in supplies for a bathroom remodel. They told me everything was in stock except the HydroBlock shower pan. I paid for everything and when the pan came in I said I would pick it up the next day. They said they wanted to check and make sure everything was ready. Well, now they said they didn't have enough Prodesso underpayment. I told them that when I placed my order I was told they had enough which means either they lied and did not have enough or they sold the stock they had that I already paid for. David made things right by bringing a role of Prodesso from another store. Before we placed our order I asked if we could return items if we did not use them. Since none of our items were special order they said it would not be a problem. What they didn't say was I only had 30 days to return items. This is actually printed on the bottom of the receipt which I didn't read until 2 months later. So now I have $100 worth of HydroBlock panels that I have no use for. One thing for sure, I won't be buying anything else from them. read more

I don't recommend this company - I am helping a friend remodel a condo she just purchased and they price gauged my friend after she made and paid for a purchase (counter tops), tried to charge an additional $900.00 right before her install date - Shady business, and in my opinion he was very rude to her - She was a paying customer (paid in full in advance) - Job cancelled, business will be awarded to another company that knows how to treat a customer. They lost a few customers over the way they treated her, we are on the board of our HOA in a 120 unit complex all needing new counter tops. read more

The sales associate was at first very helpful and knowledgeable. He of course showed us things in the order he wanted us to buy. . . most expensive to discontinued. Once he saw me and my wife weren't made of money and that we were concerned about cost he became difficult to get help from. We felt we had too much time invested to leave so we stayed to make the purchase. At checkout the grout seemed very expensive, so I later checked on how much I overpaid. I paid $ 60 more for the 18 lb pail than i could have bought elsewhere. Too much price gouging. The big box stores do have much better prices when it comes to your tiling project, the store name is way off, for tile to, not just grout. I would not go back, even if they were very close to my project, I would spend the time to drive much further. read more

I wish I could give them 0 star. We purchased mosaic tiles from them couple weeks ago. When we were installing the tiles we found the color are way off each other. And very few of them could match the original sample they shown us in their store. By the time we found the problem, we had already installed 2 tiles to our floor and pre-process some of them. We went back the store and asked for a refund of them. This is very reasonable because we actually lose much more than that - the labor to pre-process, install and take them out, the time we spent and wait to pick up the tiles. However, after we spoke to their sales and the manager, they rejected to refund us all the tiles as some of them have already been pre-processed and do not meet their resale standard. Its like charging us for a mistake they made. Nobody would purchases tiles that can fit half of the floor. If you have quality problem of your product, you need to be responsible, not your customer! read more

I will never go back to this place again. I have done three tile projects using Tile for Less, but after the way I was treated my last time in their store, I will be going else ware for my next tile project. During my last tile project I needed a few of my tiles cut professionally by them. I brought in some of my tiles to be cut. After he cut them, he then wrote up a bill for the cutting. After I paid the bill I looked at the bill that he wrote up and noticed that he charged me for the tiles and the cuts. When I informed him that the tiles were mine, I brought them in with me from home, he just exploded. He started to yell at me, and I mean yell loudly at me, to the point of all the other customers stopping what they were doing to see what the commotion was. He then started to poke his finger into my chest while continuing his verbal assault on me, yelling about how I should have told him the tiles were mine from home. He then continued about how he had to do a refund and then re-ring the bill. Well, boo hoo, cry me a river. These things happen. But that's no excuse to treat a customer like a five year old child, which is how I felt. Needless to say I will never go back to that store again, and I will tell everybody that I know, if you have a tile job to do, don't go to Tile for Less, unless you enjoy being treated like a child. I'm surprised he did not try to make me go stand in the corner. read more

My husband and I went in to Tile for Less tonight just before closing. I arrived with our two kids about ten minutes before my husband did. I knew everything we needed: square footage, style, color, just needed someone to show us around and sell product. I was not greeted when I got there, and though a salesperson did eventually come over, he was called away for a phone call. It was rude and unprofessional especially because no one else on the floor stepped in to help. No questions were answered, no tile selected. My husband entered at 5:58 pm (they close at 6) and was told by the saleswoman at the desk 'um sir, we're closed you cannot come in'. He retorted that his wife was inside and she said 'I was just telling her she needed to leave' I was not told I needed to leave, no one said a word to me and there were others still in the store! I'm never doing business at Tile for Less again. I did three tiles projects within two months using them, spending about $1500 in tile and supplies. During my third project I went in to get some help picking out a grout color. I had them pick out the grout color the previous two times. I said I wanted the grout to match the color of the tile and looked at several options. The gentleman there picked a color, I spent $110 on the grout and headed home to finish up the project. I mixed it up, started grouting and realized the color was way off. Even considering that it gets darker when it dries it was just so far off. No big deal, I scraped it out and took the bucket back to Tile for Less to get a different color. I showed it to them and asked for a discount on buying another tub. I wasn't looking for anything free, just some help since their professional recommendation was way off. Heck, I would have been satisfied with $10 off. Both gentlemen at the counter were rude and they said it was my fault for buying the wrong color. I would understand if I had picked out the color but they seemed to have forgotten they picked out the color an hour earlier. I mentioned I wouldn't be doing business there again and that I would make sure everyone I know didn't either. They didn't care. The customer is always right, unless you're at Tile for Less. Great prices? Sure. Good selection? Yep. But if anything goes wrong they will not help you out and certainly will not work with you for a resolution. Stay away unless you plan for all your projects to go absolutely perfect. read more

Here's the upshot: they have a big selection of tile. Now for the downside...just because it's called "Tile for Less," doesn't mean it's cheaper than other places. I wish I had done some more comparison shopping. Where they really get you is the accessories, not the tile itself--things like grout, sealer, caulking, etc. We ended up finding that stuff cheaper elsewhere and returned everything except the tile itself. We did have to special order some edge pieces, and they didn't tell me there was a no returns policy on special orders. When I told that to the guy at the front counter, he got really cocky and said he "must have told me." I guess no "customer is always right" at this store. So I'm stuck with a bunch of tile I can't use. Plus, they're only open until 6 pm, which is hard for working folk. And, if you come in anytime after 5 pm they act annoyed like they want to go home. They even complained to me about another customer. Real professional. I always try to support local businesses instead of the big box store, but with customer service like this, I'm not sure that was the right decision in this case. read more

We have used and recommended TFL since they were in Kirkland in 2002. Most of the time we find products in stock for our DIY projects. When we need to order they are very clear about there delivery time frames. Randy helped us today and as it was with him before, he goes the extra mile to make sure we have everything we will need. We were in the store at 8 am as we know this is not the place to go at 5 pm or later as they are prompt on closing time. This is awkward as my daughter and her husband went in at 5:45 and were treated very rudely and that review is on here. I think if you need help and cannot just say I want 22 square feet of this... go during the day or early morning if you need questions answered. Like any retail location don't go in with questions right before closing. Their choices are higher quality than Home Depot or Lowe's so their prices are higher on some items. Their clearance items pricing can't be beat for small projects, just recognize that clearance items are not returnable! We have always had good customer service here unless we show up before closing. read more

Been here a few times. First was to find out about re-sealing grout. The staff were knowledgable and helpful and the product that they recommended was easy to use and worked very well. Today we came to ask questions regarding epoxy grout, waterproof backboard and floor heating. Again someone from staff answered everyone of our questions and stayed with us until we ran out of questions. We learned of a third offering for waterproof backboard (if that's the right term. WEDI and KERDI are the other brands we knew about) so that's good. More options for us. Anyhow, the staff are always helpful and we always learn something from them. We have been here when they were busy and had to wait to talk to someone but when we had their attention they always made sure that they have addressed all our questions before they break off. I was remodeling a bathroom and kitchen and my contractor suggested I look here for tile. I normally shop at the big box stores, but was so happy my contractor suggested Tiles for Less in Bothell. The sales associate was very helpful and walked through the showroom showing me different tiles that matched the cabinet samples I brought in. I found some tiles I loved and was more than happy with the price. Upon purchasing, I showed the tiles to my contractor and he was very happy with the quality and installation. My husband and I were looking at a couple of choices and a lady walked over and turned off the lights at 5:55 and said we're closing in 5mins. So rude! How are we supposed to judge color in the dark? We had never tiled before, and decided to start with our bathroom. A couple times before starting, we considered hiring a contractor, however Tony gave us the confidence to do it ourselves. He answered all our questions and made us feel comfortable with taking it step by step. He also teaches a class once a month which is very beneficial. The tile selections and sample boards are inspiring and trend on! They seem to have new tiles and ideas every time we visit. We finally went with an Italian porcelain that was less expensive and equal in quality to high end tile brands. The experience of Tony and other staff members is what made Tile for Less in Bothell such a great resource! From selecting grout color to cutting tile, they went above and beyond in helping us make the best choices for our project. I've been a satisfied customer for several years now but today, they exceeded my expectations. I can't say enough about Tony at the Bothell, WA. store. I've been working on a bathroom remodel and ended up needing 30 additional pieces of Marble asap. I called Tony late yesterday afternoon but it was too late to get the order on a truck for delivery today. Tony decided he would pickup the order himself and drop it at the Bothell store... on his day off ! Who does that? I recently purchased tile and border for a shower stall. Eric helped me, and everyone in the store was so helpful and accommodating. Unfortunately, when I got my tiles home, three were cracked on the edge. Eric brought extras to the house and picked up the left overs after my project was done. Tile for Less has a good selection of tile, granite and other stones. However, their prices are not that great and their customer service is non-existent. There must have been at least 10 employees aimlessly walking about avoiding eye-contact and customers at all costs. There were more employees there than customers by far and I could not get a single one of them to help me for well over 20 minutes. When you finally do get a chance to speak to someone they are condescending and arrogant. They make it feel like they are doing you a favor by answering questions. Stay away from this place! They treat their customers like trash. read more

I needed some tile for a back splash and received awesome customer service at Tile for Less. Tony was very patient on the phone, had the tile I needed, gave me great directions to their place. Hunter was very helpful on the floor and helped me get the tiles to my car. As a building professional, this is a dream store. I have read the earlier reviews. The prices are comparable to box stores, but they have showroom quality tile. Honestly, I do not know of any other tile store that will cut tile as well. Since a good tile saw contractor grade costs $500-$1000 and tile blades cost $50 each it is really expensive wear and tear on the equipment. Whatever they are charging is well worth it. This is a huge value added service. If I had know this I would have had them cut my tile yesterday. As I was leaving Tony gave me a set of tile grout colors to go. We are avid DIYers, having completed (objectively) stunning renovations in each of 3 bathrooms, and a fireplace surround. Tiles for Less in Bothell is our go-to tile showroom, and we happily travel from Sammamish to see their latest offerings, get their great advice, and find perfect tiles for the project! Tiles for Less makes wet saws available for home projects, but you have to plan ahead to get one, because it's a popular offer! They give great instructions and support for use if you haven't used wet saws before. We highly recommend Tiles for Less in Bothell - we have never been disappointed! read more

The store is should give lessons on how NOT to treat customers. -Dismissive: You are treated as if you should know their business as well as they do, and if you don't you shouldn't be there. -Unhelpful: Last time I went in I was the only person in the store and three people behind the counter avoided eye contact for a full 3 minutes. This seems common practice, as it has happened every time I go in. -Sales terms not explained: I special ordered tile and the sales person did not explain overages were not returnable. After I lugged the overage back, I was told. This was a large order, costing several thousand dollars. -Overall rude: Even my contractor was treated badly when he picked up my order. He was put off enough to mention it to me and recommended that I use his license to purchase directly from the Mfr. Its one thing to burn the "do it yourselfer" but if they start making the contractors angry who will they sell to? Final comment: I would have used this place for the tile for the rest of my home renovations (3 baths and a kitchen) if I hadn't been treated with such little care. Now I will drive into Seattle and go to the Mfgs they represent. Customer service is important in any business. read more

I went into this location last week. I walked into the store started looking around. I noticed to 2 sales people. One helping one person the other helping another person. I walked around for 10 min. Finally I walked over to the counter where one sales guy was helping a customer waiting for him to break away for a moment so I could ask a question. I stood there for 5 min possibly more. He finely looks at me and asks "do you have a question" I said "yes I'm looking for some tile to put in my bathrooms. I'm looking for tile that looks like hardwood flooring." He tells me "we have a few didn't you see them?" I turned and walked out. I wasn't happy with my experience il pay a little more at Home Depot and actually get some customer service. It's amazing what a "hello"and and "il be able to help you in a moment" does for customers. I'd recommend you shop for tile else where. read more

I agree with GIGI !! Mario is awesome (so is Tony). Mario has helped us pull together multiple tile projects over the years and he is so incredibly helpful. My husband and I don't always agree on designs (I know folks, shocking!) so we take our ideas before Mario and say "help us figure this out". He will patiently walk us around the store, show us different ideas until he eventually zeros in on what will make us both happy. He is so creative and has that artist's view of aesthetics, he is not just trying to sell you tile. He wants you happy with your finished product and he will ruminate over design ideas until something gels. He is truly remarkable. Tony also jumped through hoops for us this week to get us more grout when we ran out. He had it ordered and on the next UPS truck within minutes, and we received the following day. He was also so very patient and helpful. These guys care about your satisfaction. They know what works and what doesn't. You won't be disappointed!! read more
