Work quality was definitely a step above a contractor who does average work. Dan the Tile Man is not cheap, job was pretty expensive but well worth the price. I had seen Dan has a very high rating online and now I see why. I have a friend who owns a business that she had a very bad DYI tile floor done for,, it started falling apart in 6 months.. Knew I didnt want anything like that happening in my apartment and knew I had to hire someone to do the job right. I also had an estimate from another tile installer that was just under half of what I paid Dan the Tile Man , I feel good knowing that if I had gone with the lower price installation that I might not have gotten very high quality work. Dan the Tile Man deserves BIG BIG points from Me because they are a contractor who will take a smaller job ( 92 square feet ) and they did the work as if my job was just as important to them as a bigger high dollar job. Guys on crew did not act as if my job was less important because it was a smaller and lower cost project. Very professional of them. I also want to mention that I had work done as part of this project that wasn't something Dan normally does as part of the job.. Replacing trim along the walls , next to a carpet edge, and replacing the kick guards under my kitchen cabinets is not something Dan normally does . I had mentioned that I didnt really want to have to hire another contractor to do the work, and they ended up including the work in my job estimate . Im very glad that I didnt have to hire another contractor to do trim and molding replacement , and if I paid Dan more than another contractor would have charged, I feel it was still a good value . Guys on the crew helped me to pick matching new kick guard molding and new carpet edge strips , it was helpful .

One was all aluminum, tow were wood based. I mentioned code compliance. The aluminum came in at the highest, with the black anodizement adding additional cost. We finally selected the middle one in cost. We talked about using pressure treated wood The was a lot of tension get the final plans excepted. In the end, supposedly with the inspector sigh off, it was not what was planned. The function of the ramp was acceptable, but not great. The worst part was the safety railing was a sloppy mess not up to any code. It had all put together with 1 1/2 brads and a brad gun, fast but not effective or up to code. Having heard wonderful things about the service and with a recommendation from a friend I had high expectations. Joe arrived right on time, which I appreciated, and he was friendly and took care to review everything with me, especially since the charges were quite high. For this appointment, I had a couch, loveseat (both with loose back cushions), two chairs, an ottoman, and an area rug cleaned. Joe spent about an hour and a half on the actual cleaning process, though he was here for a total of two hours. At the end of the visit, he explained that some stains, particularly those caused by my elder mom, wouldn't budge, and that the couches were heavily soiled, but he did his best. Yes, I have two dogs, the couches are dirty hence the cleaning service. In addition too coffee stains on the one chair, that the advertise to be able to take care of. After everything dried, I was unfortunately disappointed with the results, especially given the cost, $700 plus. Just to see if there was any improvement possible, I used my own little green machine with carpet cleaner. In less than 15 minutes, it collected a bucket full of filthy water, indicating that there was still a lot of dirt left behind. I understand that not all stains can be removed, but I do believe that dirt should come out during cleaning. I also attempted to clean the stained chairs myself and was able to make some progress. Because of this, I requested my area rug back, as I am unsure about their cleaning process and feel it did not meet my expectations of clean. See pictures showing the dirty water from my green machine along with a comparison of the cushions after both cleanings. I wanted to bring this to your attention and hope you won't make the same mistake and waste your money and time.
