He didn't try to push us in any particular direction but listened to what we wanted and made suggestions. He also gave us the heads up for an upcoming sale so we could make sure we got a good price. One the day of install the team worked quickly and did a thorough job cleaning up afterwards so we didn't have to worry about any mess. Braendel Painting & Services, Inc. quoted me $3,500 to paint my kitchen. I signed a contract with…read moreBraendel on June 5, 2021, and they began the work shortly thereafter. However, the project was not completed until nine months later. I had expected the job to be finished within a few days. Throughout the project, I repeatedly contacted Braendel to address areas that had been left unpainted and sections where the paint had peeled from the cabinets. Braendel painted over cabinets that were more than 50 years old without sanding or priming them beforehand. I can personally attest to this because I was present throughout the entire project and observed the work being performed. As a result, the paint began peeling. I called several times requesting that the cabinets be repainted. Although Braendel later used a more expensive paint, the peeling problem continued. At no point did the owner or project manager contact me to ask whether I was satisfied with the work. Instead, a different painter was sent each time I reported problems. During one visit, I overheard a phone conversation between the company and the painter they had sent. Someone from the Company asked, "Is she for real?" The painter replied, "Yes. I am now painting the ceiling that was not completed." Even after these issues were addressed, the project manager never contacted me to discuss the quality of the work or my satisfaction with the project. Eventually, the last painter assigned to my job, Eric Godlewski, took the cabinet doors home and repainted them. I was pleased with the quality of his work. Before he left, I asked whether he knew anyone who installed replacement windows. Mr. Godlewski offered to do the work himself. Based on my positive experience with his cabinet work, I agreed. Mr. Godlewski measured the windows, purchased them, and stacked them on my back porch. On March 31, 2022, I gave him $4,300, and he provided me with a receipt. After that, I never heard from him again. I was out $4,300. To make matters worse, the windows that were purchased were all the wrong size and did not fit any of my window openings. Because they could not be returned, I donated them to Habitat for Humanity. I chose to work with Braendel because the company had a good reputation. Since then, I have learned that Mr. Godlewski has an extensive criminal record. In my opinion, Braendel should have exercised greater care in selecting and supervising individuals representing the company. I contacted Dan Bishop, the project manager for Braendel, several times regarding these issues. He returned only one call and informed me that Braendel was not responsible. He never responded to any of my subsequent calls. Would I do business with Braendel again? Absolutely not. Shelley Ruh

When the day of work arrived, two other guys came to do all the work and Dale was here for less than an hour to collect his down payment and "make nice." Guys that put the fan in didn't wire it properly. Then they did less than half of the storage in the garage. And in doing so, cracked one of my support beams. Then proceeded to re-install my ballast so that when I opened my garage door for the first time, the garage door cracked the ballast and sent glass bulbs flying everywhere. I have scratches on my car which was in new condition up until then. When I called Dale to complain, after relaying all of my concerns to him, he proceeded to yell at me on the phone saying that he never stated he would be performing the work, that I was thinking of another contractor, and that if the "mess" the broken bulbs caused was too much for me that he would come over tomorrow to clean it up. I then told him I wasn't comfortable having him or the guys he hired in my house to fix or clean up anything. Dale is lucky that he already cashed the down payment check because for the issues, time, and money they have caused me I would have canceled that check. As it is, I am out more than $500 and will have to have all of this work re-done. STEER CLEAR of Dale and Hibbard Home Improvement. You will regret working with him. **Edit to add** I filed a complaint with the better business bureau, who I am confident will do nothing to help me rectify this situation. And to make matters worse, it not appears that Dale has hidden my review from other Yelpers. Very shady.

We went with MP Caroll because they had the professionals who could do the floor tear out, installation, and sand and re-stain the stairs. It was far more convenient than having to hire multiple contractors. Throughout the process, no matter how many question we posed in person, over the phone, or via email, they were always pleasant and nice. They are first rate. My wife and I highly recommend them. I was concerned if they would be able to stain the stairs to match the floors. The new floors were a darker stained white oak and the stairs were red oak. They surpassed expectations. I ended up hiring Niagara Hardwood to refinish my floors. Overall, they did a solid job in 3 days…read morethe quote was reasonable. They kept to schedule and finished the job to let the floors cure. The floors turned out beautiful and I really love the finish and it adds so much brightness to my upstairs. Why the 4-stars? ~~ Although the quote included closets, one closet I noticed wasn't done after they finished the first quote. After I pointed this out to them, they did it, but it only ended up with 2 coats instead of the 3 originally promised. It doesn't look as good in the closets with the 3 coats and overall the closets don't look as nice as the main floors. I also accidentally put a little scratch on the floor when moving some furniture back. I texted them to see if they would fix it and they quoted me a reasonable amount and said they would contact me, but haven't followed up with me yet. I guess they probably forgot and the otis might be on me to try them again. Either way, some small things and overall a wonderful job done! I'd definitely recommend them for your flooring installing/refinishing needs!
