The table and leaves were in good, but not great shape, and the edge treatment ('distressed') was not our style. We contacted Kittinger and inquired as to their willingness to refinish the table and the leaves. They offered to do this work at a very reasonable price, so I rented a trailer and brought the pieces to them from Ohio. [Ray Bialkowski, the owner, met me on a holiday weekend and gave me a tour of the factory!!!] The work was completed within four weeks and the results were amazing! Every scratch and gouge was gone, the finish looked like it just came out of the factory brand new, and the responsiveness of the entire staff was all one could ask for. Buyer Beware: Shortcuts on prep, poor communication & inferior quality…read more I contracted with CertaPro Painters of WNY (Tonawanda) through Michael Shea to stain my home's exterior, doors and windows. Both the communication and the planned workmanship were a serious disappointment. I found out the plan for my doors and windows was only a light hand sand before staining. That is not adequate prep for exterior stain and invites early failure. The company would not commit to proper prep at the quoted price, so I stopped the project. The on-site supervisor told me he had warned the sales rep in advance that this approach would be a problem. In other words, the shortcut was known and it went ahead anyway, without anyone telling me. This company sub-contract out their work to painters that do not speak English which further complicates the communication on-site. Had I known that this was going to be the way this project would be handled, I would NOT have used them. I obtained quotes from three other reputable contractors to complete the doors and windows correctly and offered to settle the bill for the work done, less that cost. Mike, the sales rep, refused to consider it. If you hire this company, insist that every prep step is spelled out in writing. I'd expect the owner to want to know how this job was sold and managed, and I'm open to hearing from them.

We were very specific that we wanted a granite/quartz look…read more The veins of color Craig poured did not stretch all the way to the edges, making it look very unnatural and like someone just painted the countertops and stopped before the edges. There were also some divots, rough areas and fuzz stuck in the epoxy that needed addressing. Eventually Craig did return to address our concerns. On his second visit, unbeknownst to me, Craig did absolutely zero preparation, did not move or cover any of my brand new appliances, cabinets, etc. He was obviously inconvenienced about having to return, made a comment about having to "rob" another customers product in order to fix our concerns, and this clearly showed in his carelessness with our property as well as the haphazard work done that day. There were several divots in this pour, he did not remove my kitchen faucet, so epoxy pooled in mounds on either side, there was cat hair stuck in the epoxy, as well as epoxy on my brand new sink, brand new stove, brand new dishwasher, brand new flooring, brand new cabinets, and hardwood flooring. To be fair, later that evening there was some damage done to the not quite dry epoxy by one of our children and a pet. We were happy to pay for the repairs to fix those specific areas, but nearly every single area of every countertop had major issues, not to mention all the damage to our brand new appliances, floors and cabinets. It has now been weeks of trying to get Craig to remedy this situation. He has had nothing but excuses, from placing the blame on us to saying the countertops were not built of the proper material for epoxy, even though he assured me it was fine and he, as the business owner, ultimately made the decision to pour on it. We eventually had to have another company come in, sand down the countertops and repour. Again. While this other company was finally able to give me great looking countertops, I am still out the money paid to Craig, as well as the money I had to pay the new company, and apparently whatever it will cost to repair/replace my now epoxy coated appliances floors and cabinets, as Craig has been giving the run around about it for weeks. As small business owners ourselves, I would definitely not recommend this company. Not on quality of work or customer service.
