They have everything to outfit a basic beginner tank to high end CO2 Aquascape, freshwater tanks and high end coral or fish only saltwater set ups! If you've got a desire for monster South American cichlids, they got you covered there as well. Not into aggressive fish?... then they have high-quality betta fish and guppies in the back. C-Macs employees are very knowledgeable about every aspect of the hobby, and are willing to answer even the simplest questions and provide the best solution for your situation. They don't push sales, but try to fit the needs of every customer. I've been in there when it's super packed and there's barely any room to move and the employees are still positive and happy to share their knowledge and help with everyone. I even asked if they were going to move to a larger location and the owner mentioned, he's been looking, but hasn't found the right one yet. If you're old enough to remember the old Fintastic fish store that was the gold standard in Charlotte. This is basically the new version and to be honest it's even better!

He was incredibly friendly, offered plenty of knowledge, and helped us get exactly what we needed. Honestly if he hadn't came over and helped us, we were about ready to walk out without buying a single thing. Thanks to him, we made a purchase. Most likely wouldn't go back again specifically because of how rude the lady was. As a customer, I have no desire to be treated like I'm a problem for coming in to spend money at your store.

I have interacted with him daily, gave him treats, sing and whistle to him, but he's still terrified of hands because of whatever these people did to him. When I called to voice these concerns I was originally put on hold for near an hour, then when I finally reached the manager she just deflected and denied, even tried to tell me they don't have male employees when I mentioned that he's more scared of males but the kicker is a male employee sold me the bird! So not only do they mislabel and possibly abuse their animals, but they'll lie to your face about it! She offered me a refund if I brought the bird back but I didn't want him to go back into the hands of his abuser. EDIT: I feel like I should also state that they didn't even know the age or gender of the bird when I purchased it. They just had it labeled as a hand fed Cockatiel which in retrospect should have been the red flag to not purchase from these horrid people.

It is to be expected that a local fish store charges more but nearly $70 above the competition is price gouging, desperate, and preying on the unit informed. Through another retailer we were able to purchase the AquaFX Barracuda 4 Stage RO/DI unit for 145. Stay away from this crook!!!

They are very knowledgeable about both fresh and saltwater aquariums and fish. VERY helpful, too- And not nearly as pretentious as the staff in a lot of stores. This is one of the few stores that my wife and I both feel comfortable asking questions in- Unlike a lot of places, they are patient with beginners... Some people realize that not EVERYONE is an expert, and that, at one time, they didn't know everything! Livestock is healthy and well cared for. I would not hesitate to buy from them. They have an excellent selection of Corals- Just about anything you would want. And- The advice to go with it! They've got several display tanks there that show the potential for your own tank- In fact, we're using one of their tanks as an inspiration for what we want to do with our own reef tank. I hired Aquatic Marine to install and setup a tank in my home and was promised "magazine quality"…read more Nearly a year later, we weren't close. I became frustrated with the tank when there was no end in sight, the work was chaotic, scheduling was near impossible, and I discovered that even after paying for routine maintenance none of my equipment had been properly maintained. I decided it would be easier to just start over with a smaller tank, so I gifted my larger tank to the owner, Kinny Parrott, and purchased a much smaller tank that I thought would be easier for them to actually finish and gave them a chance to live up to what they had promised. He and his service manager agreed with no hesitation to store my equipment and livestock until the new tank was cycled and ready to be setup. Instead, they misplaced half my livestock and his service manager came by one evening without any notice and dropped the rest of my fish into the tank before it was cycled and my gem tang and yellow tang both ended up dying. I sought out help from the store to try and save the rest of my fish, and an hour later, received a call from Kinny stating he was firing me because I was bad-mouthing him to his employees which was not the case. He lacks professional courtesy and the skills to deal with any sort of conflict and is one-sided in his beliefs. His communication style is quite aggressive and dismissive, which makes it hard to have an open and honest conversation with him. He proceeded to yell at me and told me that they would not be doing my install anymore and he was not going to return any of my equipment. He threatened us with attorneys and blamed me for being "too hands on with my tank" and said I had unrealistic expectations. He yelled at me on 2 different occasions using me as a scapegoat for both his personal and business issues and never offered an apology for unleashing on me. For months, he had told me that his service manager was overloaded, overworked, and on the verge of burnout and promised changes that never came. When our relationship ended, I was left feeling like their internal problems were passed onto me and I was fired as a result. When I got upset over being fired for no reason and him holding my equipment hostage, I got mad and Kinny proceeded to tell my wife that I must be bipolar. He finally agreed to return a fraction of my equipment after a battle, and several parts were still missing. He still has thousands of dollars worth of my equipment in his possession not including the tank. After gifting him a new tank, purchasing another tank without asking for any sort of discount, and spending thousands of dollars at his store, I was left feeling incredibly taken advantage of. I could go on and on about the customer service, problems that occurred during our time together, and retracted promises, but am hopeful that this brief glimpse into my experience will help prevent someone else from being lied to and taken advantage of. I had been warned about getting involved with Aquatic Marine, and looking back, I wish I had heeded the advice.
