Dr. Jack Presnell has been my Veterinarian for many years. I've had several dogs, large and small…read more He did the most perfect ears cropping for my Dobermans and Boxers. Always there and always dependable. His office staff is great and very knowledgeable. Many thanks to them!!!!

Unfortunately, we were seen by a new, younger vet and NOT Dr. Presnell. The bloodwork came back less than favorable and she suggested they keep him for two nights. She said they couldn't keep him longer regardless of his condition because of a one day holiday (that should have been a red flag). I inquired about overnight hospitalization prices and was told it was $60 a night. We agreed. We called to get updates (they never called us with any information) and the one and only time they called back, I was told he seemed to be doing better with fluids and had taken a spoonful of food. After the second night, we picked him up with the expectation (by what we had been told up to that point) that he was doing a bit better and anticipated a $300-$500 vet bill. The bill was nearly $1000!!! We were then told "he may, or may not recover". I know there is no way to predict the outcome, but my dog came home even worse than he was. Once we saw him it was obvious that he hadn't improved at all. He refused to eat, vomiting and had labored breathing. I wish the vet had given us a true prognosis of how bad things were. I would have preferred a truth bomb that it was his time, rather than given hope when things were hopeless of improvement. I had to go to my regular vet and have him put down after having had him home for 1 1/2 hours. I felt horribly guilty that the last two nights of my aging dogs life were spent having test and being given injections surrounded by strangers.

Their neglect killed our Yorkie! 5/20/23 They fed our dog treats (we suspect more than just one)…read morethat she wasn't supposed to have. We told the owner Laura she can only have food from the bag we brought with her. She said no problem, we'll take great care of her. When we dropped her off we left verbal and written instructions with her food and reiterated that she gets pancreatitis easily and cannot have anything but what we brought for her. On Friday 5/19 our Yorkie that had been staying there since 5/13/23 started throwing up and had diarrhea(common reaction to eating things she isn't supposed to have). She admitted Charli had "stolen" a treat from another dog on Thursday. The owner who we thought surely had the ability to assess her condition did offer to take her to the vet if we wanted but had no sense of urgency in her voice and when questioned about her condition she stated she was acting fine and was up and running around. (Not normal when she's sick). She assured us she'd be with her another 6 hours and would monitor her via camera that night and let me know immediately if her condition didn't improve or worsened. We heard nothing else until the next morning. We received a call when we were coming back from vacation 5/20 and were told Charli had passed. No apologies, wasn't her fault, excuse after excuse. But she did say we'll clean her up. I wonder why? Could it be because a dog that has diarrhea and vomits all afternoon and night isolated in a cage suffering and actively dying needs cleaning up. The story has changed multiple times..even during the course of each conversation so we may never know the truth but can only speculate that she has no professional experience with animals and cannot assess when they are in danger. (God if we'd only have thought to ask specifically and didn't just assume all of her "years" in the business equaled knowledge of animals) Another reviewer said she made him come get his dog for the same issue And her response was "vomiting and diarrhea can cause dehydration and the dog can die" yet I get no sense of urgency and none of the same concern for our little girl. She knew. She had to be in distress when she called me yet she assured me she was acting fine. She assured me she'd call if it didn't stop or got worse. I can only assume they put her in a cage to keep her diarrhea and vomiting from making a mess and left her to die alone in a strange place for the next 12+ hours. Unacceptable. Completely avoidable and unacceptable. We didn't get the same courtesy God how we wish she'd have insisted we come get her or have had enough knowledge to know the vet was needed. Was she afraid of another bad review? Was she afraid because she knew Charli was sick because of their negligence? We had Charli for 11 years, had a vet checkup on 5/12/23 to show them she was healthy. And by them not doing their job, they killed her. I can't state this enough...... DO NOT TAKE YOUR ANIMAL THERE! We don't want what happened to our baby to happen to your pet/family member.

This place literally killed my yorkie. She was dropped off on 5/13/23 for the week. I discussed her history of pancreatitis and made it clear that eating anything other than what we sent with her would make her sick. I got a call on 5/19/23 at 2 pm telling me she was having diarrhea and vomiting. She said she didn't mind to take her to the vet if I wanted. I tried to assess the situation and asked a few questions. I felt no sense of urgency in her voice and was told she was acting fine and running around. She admitted she allowed her to get ahold of a treat she wasn't supposed to have. Based on her statements, it sounded like typical reaction to eating something she shouldn't have and at that point she had just thrown up and had diarrhea earlier in the day. I was told she would be there until 8 pm and I asked her to please monitor the situation and call me back immediately if the situation did not improve or continued. The next call we received was at 9:45 the next morning telling us they found her dead in her stall. The stories we have gotten have not been consistent so we may never know the truth, but I can only speculate that she was not monitored and suffered and died alone in a strange place. Ten months earlier she was given a bad review by a customer who complained she made him pick up his dog a short time after he dropped the dog off because the dog was vomiting and had diarrhea. Her response was that she made him come get the dog because vomiting and diarrhea were serious and could result in death if not treated. One episode of diarrhea and vomiting isn't dangerous. Continued episodes can be fatal. She admitted when they found her in the morning she had "made a mess" and they gave her a bath before we got there to pick up her body. So it seems impossible that she was monitored like we were promised she would be. Bottom line, she let our little girl eat something that was toxic to her and made light of the situation and ignored how sick she was, locked her in a stall and left her to die. Needless to say, I would not suggest you ever leave your furry family members in her care. It's been the most devastating and regrettable decision we ever made.
