When we arrived we were checking in at the front desk. The receptionist was not kind. She had an attitude even tho my sister in law and I were very very nice and patient. A nurse came over to take a look at the wound on Gracie, she took not even 2 seconds to look at it and told us there was really nothing they could do. You can see my dogs fat on the inside without even having to really look. Then, we proceeded to wait for an eternity, (and yes I do understand that there are other patients, however a priority system would be extremely effective). They were seeing animals who had minor issues, like getting lab work done or shots, meanwhile my dog has an actual open hole in her chest that NEEDS to be stitched up or stapled or something. There is no possible way that we can leave this wound open without there being potential for an infection that could kill my dog. And lastly, my SIL went in to see if there was any bottled water and a water bowl she could purchase because our dog is thirsty, and the receptionist completely and blatantly ignore her. I've always heard really good things about this place, and have read multiple reviews about how good they are with everyone's animals, but I am extremely disappointed and dissatisfied with the treatment that we received today. After anesthetic was given to him we were told the doctor would be fifteen minutes to come back and he wouldn't feel anything, by the time he did come back to us it was wearing off because he was too busy talking to someone else in the main part of the building and because of this my cats last moments were spent in fear instead of being a peaceful passing. If you are looking for a vet in the area I would highly recommend it not be here because they operate with absolutely zero care or compassion in what they do.

I had missed one while I was away but another litter came along soon after. We wouldn't trade our white & tan Maltipoo, Carrie, for anything else! Carrie passed with flying colors during her first vet exam the morning after she came home, weighing just 1.7 pounds. The vet enthusiastically noted that Carrie is a healthy pup that definitely came from a breeder that cares for her puppies. Her nails were trimmed and butt hairs shaved. Carrie is well socialized and does not mind being handled. She is an avid cuddler who enjoys falling asleep on my lap, and anyone's lap for that matter if they'd let her. Despite the uphill battle that is potty training an 8-week old puppy, we are happy to have a healthy & happy pup that is bringing so much joy to my life and those around me. It's like I won the lottery and all my friends started popping out of the woodwork to come visit! Cindy happily answers questions and concerns via text and email. Only thing that I think Cindy can do better is more frequent updates-- we averaged one update with 3-4 pictures every 2 weeks. I was antsy with anticipation for the next update which made the 8 week-wait once you reserve a pup at birth rather hard to deal with.

Our15 year old fur baby, Rudy, recently spent 2 1/2 days in the hospital before losing his battle with lung cancer. Dr. Lilly was his Vet and when we realized he was sick 6 months ago, she referred us to UT Vet Hospital. It was there we found out he had cancer. Dr Lilly provided medical his care very carefully when we returned from UT. When Dr Lilly was not available and on her days off, we were able to use Dr Hart to help with his care. Dr Lilly and Dr Hart are compassionate about their work and are diligent in providing the best medical care possible. The weekend before Rudy passed away I called Dr Lilly at home at 7:00 on a Sunday morning. I explained to her what was going on with Rudy and she told me to go the the Emergency Vet at the airport. When we arrived at the Emergency Hospital, the staff was waiting on us. Dr Lilly had called ahead and given the Dr on call a brief history of Rudy's health and the treatment he required. My husband and I will continue to use Mountain Empire to provide medical care for our two puppies and four cats. I have recommended Mountain Empire Animal Hospital to our friends and family.
