First of all: Courtney is an incredible person. Secondly, her empathy, intuition, and knowledge…read morehave been life-changing for our special needs blue heeler, Clementine. Clem is half blind & deaf, though this isn't the reason we initially contacted Courtney. At the time, we had adopted a beautiful boxer-pit mix, Juniper, to have as Clementine's companion. We adopted her from the Washington County animal shelter, and she was in bad condition, having 6-10 months of trauma in the first part of her life (we think she was bait in dog fights). She had to have emergency surgery, and after a few months, we decided we needed some professional help due to Juniper's reactivity with Clementine. With Courtney's guidance, we learned that our 2 dogs do not speak the same language. Courtney was initially willing to help us and our dogs learn and respect one another's languages. Over time, though, Juniper ended up attacking Clementine, and Courtney was with us every step of the way. She truly cares about the people and animals she works with. She immediately came up with a plan so we could figure out re-homing Juniper while keeping the two dogs separated in our home. She even searched for foster homes with us, and worked with the foster parent Juniper lived with for about a month until we found her forever home. Courtney is the best dog trainer I have ever met. Her compassion goes above and beyond, and her expertise is so valuable. I learn something new at every session! When I refer to her in conversation, I call her our "Dog Therapist", because she truly is. She can sense things about our dog that we don't even sense, in the smallest amount of time. If you're on the fence about hiring or consulting with Courtney, jump off and call her immediately! ‍‍

Mars is incredibly patient, knowledgeable, kind, and genuine in every interaction. Her love for what she does truly shines through in the way she works with both Aaron and myself. Mars took the time to understand Aaron's unique personality and caters to what he needs the most, making training such a positive experience for the both of us. We have learned so much from her, and the progress I've seen with Aaron has been amazing! Aaron and I appreciate her dearly and are so grateful for her dedication, compassion, and expertise. I would recommend Mars and the amazing staff at Kabler School for Dogs without hesitation! You will not be disappointed. Thank you Mars!

Pepperoni fell into our laps after a friend started fostering her to get her out of a kill shelter in South Carolina. We were in love with our snuggly girl from the start, but she was also timid, skittish, poorly behaved on the leash, and terrified of strangers (especially men). We tried to take her to a doggie daycare for socialization, but she was so terrified, she escaped within a half hour and was not allowed back. Over the course of six months, David helped us build Pepper's confidence and bring her out of her shell. She now sits with us at dog-friendly restaurants, greets every guest at the door, and just spent her first day at doggie daycare (no escaping! No hiding!) We cannot thank David enough for all he has done and his patience in going the extra mile for a more difficult case. We're so grateful to have a happy, healthy dog!

Vic saved my marriage…read more One beautiful fall afternoon, after consuming too many edibles, my husband convinced me to get a German Shepard puppy. In a better-than-usual mood, I agreed. I've had dogs before, I am an animal lover, and I knew puppyhood was a little annoying but it's never really that bad. WRONG. German Shepard puppies are Tasmanian devils on amphetamines and no one tells you that until you get one! And then they all chuckle about it like, "Haha! Welcome to the club! Just get through the first 6 months and you'll be fine!" Well, I'll tell you the truth since no one bothered to tell me: You better have a stellar level of physical stamina, a war chest of mental fortitude, a therapist on standby and some kind of pharmaceutical grade relaxant. Once you get that god-forsaken heathen it is you against a wild animal with limitless energy, a level of intelligence that shouldn't be allowed and an unbreakable will. It's like the Hunger Games. May the odds be ever in your favor. After 4 months with the hellhound-on-wheels I no longer recognized myself. I looked like Obama coming out of office. My hair had greyed and fine lines appeared on my once youthful face. My vibrant energy was non-existent. What's worse is that I had so many mental breakdowns that I lost touch with reality and no longer knew who or where I was. Eventually, God had mercy on my soul and led us to Vic. If it had not been for Vic, I would have left my husband and cushy lifestyle on the grounds of intolerable cruelty and moved into a studio apartment in a shady part of town just to escape the sheer madness. I had lost all hope. My world had been cast into shadows. Vic was like an angel floating down from the heavens to lead me through the valley of despair. Miracles are real and I am living proof. Our puppy/demon got weekly trainings until she was old enough to go to Board and Train. When she came back she was like a furry little soldier. I couldn't believe it! Not only had she become bearable, but I quite enjoyed her! Over the last several months, that little butthole has really grown on me! She has become a really great dog and no longer terrorizes me, it's awesome! Now, don't get me wrong, I've had to put in the work. Just like a willful child you kind of have to beat them into submission and break them like a wild horse. But man, when you do, they're wonderful! Our German Shepard, whose name is Nymeria the Direwolf of House Polo first of her name and Queen of the Hellhounds, is such a fun dog that I've almost forgotten that I went temporarily insane for 6 months! Thank you Vic, you are a life saver and the most majestic dog trainer in all the land! 10/10 would recommend to anyone losing grip on reality because of a working breed puppy!!!

With Vic and Mary's help and expertise, McGuire has transitioned into a well-behaved and well-trained member of our family. We could not have asked for better. McGuire's social skills are top-notch. Does not run to jump on people when off leash and never pulls on the leash when walking in a crowd, Stays in place when commanded and understands boundaries. Moreover, Vic worked just as hard with us through multiple lessons to ensure we were able to maintain the consistency of what McGuire had been taught. Just phenomenal work from beginning to end. Personally, I couldn't ask for better and highly recommend Divine Canine to everyone who needs assistance with their fur-covered family members (Dogs only, Not Husbands and Kids)
