A friend of mine has used Dr. Presnell for years with great success at a lower cost than my current…read morevets prices, and so when she was giving up an appointment slot I jumped at the chance to take it for my aging dog who needed to be seen. Unfortunately, we were seen by a new, younger vet and NOT Dr. Presnell. The bloodwork came back less than favorable and she suggested they keep him for two nights. She said they couldn't keep him longer regardless of his condition because of a one day holiday (that should have been a red flag). I inquired about overnight hospitalization prices and was told it was $60 a night. We agreed. We called to get updates (they never called us with any information) and the one and only time they called back, I was told he seemed to be doing better with fluids and had taken a spoonful of food. After the second night, we picked him up with the expectation (by what we had been told up to that point) that he was doing a bit better and anticipated a $300-$500 vet bill. The bill was nearly $1000!!! We were then told "he may, or may not recover". I know there is no way to predict the outcome, but my dog came home even worse than he was. Once we saw him it was obvious that he hadn't improved at all. He refused to eat, vomiting and had labored breathing. I wish the vet had given us a true prognosis of how bad things were. I would have preferred a truth bomb that it was his time, rather than given hope when things were hopeless of improvement. I had to go to my regular vet and have him put down after having had him home for 1 1/2 hours. I felt horribly guilty that the last two nights of my aging dogs life were spent having test and being given injections surrounded by strangers.

The owner took the time to walk me through everything thoroughly, demonstrating deep mastery of dog care and breed specific grooming standards. I brought in my two dogs, Beignet and Strudel, completely overgrown and shaggy. They walked out looking like pristine show dogs not a single stray hair out of place. What stood out the most was their unparalleled compassion and tailored handling! I was so worried at first since my older dog Beignet has severe medical issues including being completely immobile. Thankfully, there was no need for me to worry at all as he was in the right hands here! A huge, heartfelt shoutout to Catherine, who went above and beyond with him. She took extra time, stayed mindful of his physical limits to ensure he was never over extended or in pain, and treated him with pure gentleness and dignity. In addition, my newer dog Strudel is an energetic young puppy who is still very unfamiliar with the grooming process. They handled her wiggly excitement with incredible patience and ease, turning what could have been a stressful experience into a total success. (I'm so sorry I forgot the name of the wonderful young lady who took care of her!) To top off an already 5 star visit, they sent the most adorable photos of both pups looking fresh, happy, and proud. If you want a groomer who combines historic expertise with genuine, compassionate care especially for seniors, special needs pets, or rambunctious puppies this is the place. 100% recommended!!! I've never been to such an amazing dog grooming business in my life. THEY ARE THE CREAM OF THE CROP!!!

Mike Wright and…read moreIsaac Wright worked with my one-year-old English Cream Retriever, Noble, and the results were wonderful. Communication was clear throughout the process, and they explained from the beginning that the day you pick your dog up is often not the best time for a full training lesson because dogs are excited and overstimulated seeing their owners again. Instead, they schedule a separate go-home instructional session where they can properly teach you commands, structure, and how to maintain the training. I actually appreciated that approach because it allowed me to focus and learn when Noble was calmer. At our session, they went into detail about what to do, what not to do, and how consistency at home plays a major role in continued success. They also let me know they were available anytime if I had questions or needed help afterward. Every dog and owner situation can be different, but in my case, they were professional, knowledgeable, and genuinely cared about Noble's success long after training ended. I'm very grateful for the experience and would absolutely recommend them.
