I had missed one while I was away but another litter came along soon after. We wouldn't trade our white & tan Maltipoo, Carrie, for anything else! Carrie passed with flying colors during her first vet exam the morning after she came home, weighing just 1.7 pounds. The vet enthusiastically noted that Carrie is a healthy pup that definitely came from a breeder that cares for her puppies. Her nails were trimmed and butt hairs shaved. Carrie is well socialized and does not mind being handled. She is an avid cuddler who enjoys falling asleep on my lap, and anyone's lap for that matter if they'd let her. Despite the uphill battle that is potty training an 8-week old puppy, we are happy to have a healthy & happy pup that is bringing so much joy to my life and those around me. It's like I won the lottery and all my friends started popping out of the woodwork to come visit! Cindy happily answers questions and concerns via text and email. Only thing that I think Cindy can do better is more frequent updates-- we averaged one update with 3-4 pictures every 2 weeks. I was antsy with anticipation for the next update which made the 8 week-wait once you reserve a pup at birth rather hard to deal with.

We were willing to travel around the NY, NJ, LI, CT area as well as the DC, MD, VA, Delaware region but all the breeders had large numbers of horrific complaints as they were all puppy mills. Then our luck changed and we found Windy Way Hill Puppies online. The testimonials were great, this was a breeder that you could visit, and there were no complaints from anyone on the Internet so we took a chance. Wow! We could not be happier. From start to finish, this is a real high-quality, class act! Cindy Barrett, the breeder, was always responsive to my many annoying questions over many months. She really helped us through this somewhat scary process of getting a new pup. Fast forward to a week ago when we picked up our gorgeous little ball of white fluff, with apricot ears. She was checked out 2 days later and found to be in perfect health by a Vet. We are in love with this cute, very active puppy. Cindy makes things easy by having an assistant, Lucas, drive the babies up from Lebanon, Va to Manassas. It only took us an hour for the arranged pickup. We are the pet parents of a stupendous (in our opinion) 6 1/2 year old Pittie named Sargent Major. We live in a pretty remote part of the state and normal every day sights such as cars, people and other "pets" are a rare occurrence. Hence Sarge isn't familiar with them and could be a bit aggressive when he encounters them. We have never boarded him for either daycare or extended boarding however we recently needed to have him at a boarding facility. Our nerves were way up there and the stress we felt was off the charts. My husband spoke to LAUREN and detailed our concerns, spoke of our love for and concern about having an unsocialized "puppy" who needed her services. We had spoken candidly with a few other people in the pet care field and we were informed more times than not that they were really not able to accommodate us (for which we were completely understanding). LAUREN asked all the pertinent questions, answered all of ours and suggested a one day orientation type stay for him to see how he would do (being his first ever time away from home) and to also see how they would be able to interact with Sarge. Night before we packed up his favorite blanket, his favorite toy, his food and snacks. The day dawned and Sarge was off to Fetching Ridge Pet Hotel and Spa. Sign in and drop off was a breeze. More comforting was how upbeat LAUREN AND STAFF were when we entered. The handoff was seamless and with a bit of apprehension Sarge was led off to his adventure. No phone calls from Fetching Ridge all day gave us confidence, apparently they must have been doing well at their trial. When we went to pick him up later that day a very smiling LAUREN greeted us and assured us that our day camper had done very well and behaved well! We received a full report about his free time activities, his feeding and interactions. When Sarge was brought out to us we were taking home a VERY HAPPY and TIRED dog. I realize that this has been a bit wordy, but I HAD to say in every sense with all the words that if you have a pet that needs grooming, boarding, daycare or all of it you MUST do your pets and yourselves the favor and allow Fetching Ridge Pet Hotel and Spa to take care of it! Sarge will be boarding there for 4 nights this weekend, we are headed on our own adventure with a calm and certainty that our boy is in the BEST CARE. She loves animals and treats them all with gentleness and respect. My dog is a gentle giant and a bit timid. Yet, Jill has won her over and my pet is always happy to return for her 6 week grooming. Jill also helped me with my elder cat who had stopped grooming herself and become badly matted. The lion cut Jill gave her was really cute, but more importantly gave the cat great relief. She came home much happier and more comfortable. I'm not sure what happened in the first review, because Jill has always given me only what I asked for and worked with us to give our pets the best care. I think she's the best groomer we've ever had, and we always had pets and lived a variety of places. I recommend her highly.
