I purchased a "hand fed" cockatiel from these horrid pet peddlers in July and immediately noticed signs of abuse. I have interacted with him daily, gave him treats, sing and whistle to him, but he's still terrified of hands because of whatever these people did to him. When I called to voice these concerns I was originally put on hold for near an hour, then when I finally reached the manager she just deflected and denied, even tried to tell me they don't have male employees when I mentioned that he's more scared of males but the kicker is a male employee sold me the bird! So not only do they mislabel and possibly abuse their animals, but they'll lie to your face about it! She offered me a refund if I brought the bird back but I didn't want him to go back into the hands of his abuser. EDIT: I feel like I should also state that they didn't even know the age or gender of the bird when I purchased it. They just had it labeled as a hand fed Cockatiel which in retrospect should have been the red flag to not purchase from these horrid people. read more

I have been coming here for my tropical fish and supplies for 2 years now. And always thought highly of this store. I have also maintained tropical fish tanks from my 20's on. I am currently 67 years young and had a young girl who works there, tell me what fish I can and can not have in my tank. Mine you,that I have had everything from a 2.5 gallon tank to a 75 gallon tank over the years. Anyway, this young lady spoke to me as if I had no clue as to taking care of a fish tank. Unfortunately, after this experience I will probably never return back there. Sorry, but you just lost a loyal customer of 2 years. read more

This place is just awesome! It's been a long time since I've walked in a pet store and it smells clean and fresh. I'm sure it's probably due to this being a new location for this company, but it was really nice to walk in and see organization and perfect use of floor space! The animals are well taken from what I could see. My son loved meeting Frank the Fish ! There are a great bit of snakes and tarantulas if you are about that life. There were some nice geckos and even a bearded dragon! All in all, I really hope we really enjoyed our visit to Pet Cove and hope they are able to maintain their clean and well organized environment for the animals and the customers! read more

Such a fantastic shop! Very bright and full of beautiful tanks with fish and reptiles. My son and I loved seeing all the different species and especially loved the "porch" with birds, hamsters and guinea pigs. The staff was knowledgeable, friendly and encouraged us to take our time exploring. We will definitely be back! read more

sent my wife to get a 30 gram frozen rat pup, she was told the didnt carry them, the would give her the closest the had. She was never shown what it was, got home it was a 10g mouse. For a store that sells snakes, the need to learn alot more. read more

We have been good customers for several years and spent lots of money in this store from buying fish, food, supplies, and a 90 gallon tank. This store has gone downhill since Katelyn and Layla have left. Our last experience is our last experience there. We purchased reticulated hillstream loaches which were $20 each. They all died within the warranty time. We received a store credit to replace the 3 fish. We called many, many times to the point I'm sure we drove the employees crazy. We also came in and checked many times to see if they had received any. They never received any to our knowledge. I asked Tracy if they received reticulated or just the regular hillstream loaches during the 6 months after. She never would say yes or no so I'm going to say no that no they did not. She would only say that they are hard to get. Well, that's not our problem. In that case, you should extend the warranty until you get those in. So our warranty expired after 6 months. We questioned this to Tracy as we were told by several employees that you can only replace the fish with the same type. Tracy starts talking over me on the phone and also did my husband the same way in the store. She then says well you can get any kind of fish with the warranty. It doesn't have to be the same ones. I guess she changed the policy to fit her narrative. Her employees didn't know this as one walked off during Tracy and my husband's conversation at the store because he knew he was one that had told us this also. So needless to say after being yelled at in the store and on the phone that she has lost good customers over $60. We were nice to her but she has terrible customer service. Needless to say, we will not be back. ***If you want excellent quality and selection of fish, supplies, ect, go to Aquatic Marine in Knoxville. It's only an hour and a half away. It's well worth the drive, it's reasonably priced, and I promise you will thank me later. They will help you safely pack the fish for the ride home. You won't be looking at the same guppies and Molly's that Pet Cove has every time you go. They have a HUGE variety of fish.*** read more

12/11/22 Just had the awfullest experience with a very rude confrontational cashier in petcove. I asked for a couple a fish when there was no else in the store. she walked back like she was going to help me and got side tracked by another person who had walked in and then got very confrontational when I said I was waiting on the fish. I would recommend purchasing fish from somewhere else. I recently purchased fish for my daughter, and I didn't realize until I got them home that they have ick. I immediately treated for it and out of 9 she has 3 left. I noticed dead fish in some of the tanks that hadn't been removed, and that the tanks could use a good cleaning. I thought the ones she chose would be ok, but sadly they are not. I will be purchasing future fish elsewhere. read more

I decided to buy a female beta fish. The lady at the register helping me said they were out and only had male,this was no problem considering they are a pet store that a lot of people go to. So I decided I would just get a male. The lady also threw in a frog with my beta. I didn't ask for it she just gave it to me. So we paid and left. The next day I looked in my tank and my fish was upside down at the top of the tank. My new beta fish was dead. I immediately called the store and they told me I could trade it in. This wasn't a problem I thought that I had just gotten unlucky. I brought my dead fish with me because they needed it. The two girls laid it on the counter and looked at him. They said they thought that the fish I had gotten had a blue tail which he did but his blue had faded away. They questioned me and were very rude to me. They finally gave me another fish. The next day I woke up and my new fish was dead. I decided then that I wasn't going to get another. I still had my frog tho. The next day my frog was looking pale and was just sitting at the top. My frog passed away the next day. Now keep in mind that I have a male beta that I had gotten 4 years ago from Walmart. And had never had a problem. This place is dirty and doesn't treat animals well. I or my family will not be going back. Please don't waste money on this place for your animal is sure to die and be unhealthy. read more

I bought my son Molly's and Platy's from Petsmart and they are doing just fine. However petsmart was out of guppies at the time, so I bought some here and all of them have died within 5 days of having them. I would take them back and exchange them and those would die as well. Would not recommend buying fish. After closer examination I noticed that their tanks have a lot of buildup and that they don't clean out their dead fish right away. I went in on a Wednesday and then went back the following Monday and the same dead fish were still in the tanks and the other fish were eating them. read more

Gorgeous fish and corals to look at, at great prices. Awesome prices on heat bulbs, tanks, decoration and everything else you need for a reptile/fish/ferret/bird/chinchilla! Our fish tank was getting cloudy and we didn't understand what was going on, so we went in and asked for suggestions and they were so helpful and friendly! The good side is you can trade fish in for credit or more fish. Bad side is every fish i have got from there has died with in 3 week of varying fish deceases . the store is small and nasty inside, parking is not much fun ether. I have been keeping fish for 5 years, I know what i am doing and have never had a fish die or get sick on me before this place. read more

we have been in town for about a year now and have visited this store twice. the first time the pet smells were so bad we could hardly stand to be in the store and had to leave due to allergys. we were asked around and were reccomended this place again and were told they had new staff and would be better. today went in and were looking around and the male staff member was rude and even suggested despicable comments about the bearded dragons when we asked about and when told we had lost one and were looking to replace her. he suggested we should of stuffed the body. i should have whipped his ass. the owner obviously needs to have more hands on or just close this place. if i could post 0 stars i would read more
