Me and my mother used this company to move from New Jersey in June/ 2016. I searched for a company for around 2 months because some of our furniture is really old ( from my grandparents) and they are very valuable and sentimental especially to my mother. I made sure to search and check reviews of so many movers and talked them over the phone , emailed them...etc. And, finally we decided to go with Tiger Movers Inc. The most impressive part was, the owner... replied all my questions very patiently and answered everything i needed to know. The worse moving company you can find. Alex (Tiger Movers) said in the email that 8 hours would be enough to move 4 bedrooms. We made all the boxes and they only packed the furniture. They took more than 6 hours only to pack furniture and move boxes. They held our stuff in the truck till we make the full payments at the destination. They said that they are not going to unload the truck till full payment is made. They held our belongings in the truck and said they will leave and will not unload till all the payment is made. Alex was very aggressive. We even told him that we are going to get more money and start unloading. He didn't want to do that till we paid him the money for the hours they worked. We were told in the email that the total will be $800. We were like the most it can go will be $1,200 but he made the bill for $2,298 and he didn't want to come down on the price. I lost my mind when he showed me the bill and said that he's not unloading till all the payment is made. He only wanted cash or money orders which is red flag. He collected the tax but I doubt they pay the taxes. All these moving companies are big scammers. We should get the exact price and pay with credit card so we can dispute the charges and file complaint. If I could honestly give 0 stars I would the service was horrendous. The guy alex is a con man. He quoted me one price and then while he was on his way to bring my things to other location he changes the price and sends me a picture of it. So whatever they give you in the quote know it's not accurate then he adds tax. He Nickel and dimes you for every little thing. He used tape i didn't ask for they used 6 rolls of tape and charged me 6 for each other. When I said I wasn't satisfied and asked for the boss or manager he told he wasn't the owner but the manager. I just had the exact experience with a mover also named Alex. Only this time it was 3 Brothers Moving. Quoted $1850, showed up, took pictures then said $4700!! He kept trying to get me to load the truck and take my stuff to their Warehouse before a new price was even agreed upon. Guy even changed the quote when truck reached and told that he will not unload items until payment is not cleared. Worst moving service ever, they arrived late the day of the move. I originally hired 3 movers and only 2 showed up. One refused to wear a face mask even when restrictions had not been lifted. Many damages to my furniture including completely breaking my office desk, scratches to the bed and breaking my bike stand. They also took about 45 mins or more to fill the quote, that of course they charge you for the time and the ride time was at least 3 times the time it takes for that distance. When raising the complain they sent the call to the original mover who was confrontational and blamed me for their bad service. The company then started to ignore my complaint follow up emails so I decided to call and they just said the insurance didn't cover the issues and that they would not pay for anything. Tiger Movers Inc is a big SCAM. To prove my story, I am attaching photos of the estimate and receipts. I talked to Alex and received a quote for out move for 1 truck/3 men $80 per hour. In my email conversation with him, we agreed to pay extra $80 per hour if my boxes go higher than the quote. There was no mention of gas or transport fees. It was straight $80 per hour for total 4 hours and $90 for packaging materials-total $410 as you can see from pictures. They came on time and started loading the truck. It took them only an hour as we sold most the furniture and we had less big items for our two bedroom apartment. They started wasting time downstairs arguing about not to take suitcases as they are not safe in truck. They said they could only take boxes. We didn't argue with them for long as we didn't want them to spend time. Before they start unloading at our new pace, they gave me a final charge of $904. Please check the start and end time in the photo which is 9:30 am to 1pm, less than 4 hours that was estimated. They charged us for fuel, some unknown tax and total time for them to travel back to their office. We asked them not unload boxes and take them. We told them that we would go to court and fight as this was a huge rip-off. They reduced the price to $610 after wasting another hour arguing and talking to Alex over the phone. They finally agreed for $550 and with tips I paid $600 as I felt bad for two guys who were actually lifting boxes. But the driver and Alex are totally rude and scammers. * Very unprofessional in nature , appointment was done 10 days back for 3 pm, they reached my place at 5:30 PM (Oct 1st 21) * From the beginning they took their own time, Spent time in smoking , talking and finally started their work even though their actual working hours started from the time they started from their place (90 mins back) * I had neatly packed all the 35 boxes, but they just threw them from the steps and 8 boxes were completely opened by the time they reached my new place. * Estimation given was $ 530 , actual bill given was $ 1630. Scammers!!!!! They first told me $400 and they ended up stealing $750 from me. They picked up my stuff at 5, it was an hour drive to my new place so my mom and my boyfriend got there at 6 but the truck with my things did not arrived until midnight (not exaggerating), we kept calling and calling asking them why were they not there yet and they said that they got a flat tire, which was a lie because when they arrived at 12 am it was not the same people that picked up my stuff and they had said that they had to do another job, so they took my stuff with someone else's stuff. We were very upset so we called the police and i ended up paying the extra money and i asked them to signed my receipt in front of the policemen just to have everything clear and the guy was like: sure whatever. The got my stuff out of the truck and my desk was broken in half, and there were two pieces of glass from my TV set broken as well, so i asked them how would i get paid for that and the guy said that since i wanted to sign the receipt in front of the policeman he couldn't applied the insurance to fix or reimburse me for the broken things. Money Hungry Parasites!!. Alex is the worst human being I have had to deal with in my life. He quoted less than $400 and told his guys not to unload until I paid $775. I paid after he threatened to unload everything on the street. What choice did I have?. This company is run by Thugs!!. After the movers gave me the ridiculous final price of $775, They put me in touch with Alex who kept repeating over-and-over that the all numbers provided in the initial contract are estimates and additional charges may be added (basically it's a worthless piece of toilet paper). Aside from charging me $160 for packing. They only used 4 rolls of tape which costs $4 at the dollar-store, there were number of unknown charges (delivery, truck rental, toll, long carry). Btw, The toll and other travel charges are apparently to reach my house as my move was for just 9 Miles on local roads!!. Finally when I paid up because I didn't want my stuff left on the road, The movers banged up my place because I 'delayed' the unloading and they were 'paid by the hour'. They further broke my dining table and cabinet. Alex emailed me saying they will file a claim with the insurance and I will be paid a compensation in 2 months. After 5 months of trying to reach them, They won't even pick up my phone. AVOID THEM LIKE THE PLAGUE THEY ARE!!!. Don't believe all the fake paid positive reviews here and in google (doesn't it seem funny they they are all from outside NJ?!!). THIS IS A SCAM COMPANY!! The owner Alex is a con artist and scammer. My elderly dad needed movers and was quoted a reasonable price for the move. HOWEVER, our experience was tortious. They state in the contract a $155 packing material cost and charged us over $800!! On top of that, they were hours late and refused to move anything in plastic bags with NO statement of that prior. They excessively wrapped (already wrapped items) in dirty old blankets and used 32 THIRTY-TWO rolls of tape. They charged us $500 for wrapping and carts $250 for TAPE and yet over 15 of our items they moved arrived broken. We were required to move over 40% of our belonging ourselves and they held our belongings hostage in the truck until paid $2000 when we were quoted $800! I called to discuss this with Alex and tried to work with him as what he is doing is unethical. He was incredibly dismissive, unwilling to listen, lied, and incredibly rude. I hired this company for a small move: washer, 3-seat couch, Ikea bedframe, matress, futon, countertop, dining table with 6 chairs, TV, 4 tires and a few smaller items. I took all the furniture apart before they came in and had it separated from what was staying in the old place. I even wrapped the stuff that I could. They quoted me $490 the day before and came at $710 on the move. I wouldn't have minded the difference if everything was moved intact, this was not the case though. Every piece of furniture has a ding, scratch, rip or similar. And I really mean every piece. And I told them at the beginning of the job take your time I want a smooth job. This is just a horrible company. Out of the 3 guys that came only 1 was actually acting like a professional and was wrapping the items and moving with care. The other 2 guys, one of which was the lead are just out for a quick buck. I told them at my new place that I have just washed the carpet and would like them to either take their shoes off, put booties on(which I provided) or put a tarp and wipe their shoes off before they walk in. All of those were too much for them. On top of that to cut their path from the truck 3 feet short they walked through the garden in front of the front door and brought even more dirt. Also when moving the washer that was left by previous owner at my new location they spilled water, which got into the floor from a nearby crevice and damaged the ceiling on the floor underneath. You would think professional mover would know a washer might have water in it and come prepared... I would have been much better just selling all my stuff at rock bottom prices and buying new then paying these guys to destroy everything and still having to buy new. I wish I would've paid attention to the real reviews. I found this company through a bid/search engine. They were incredibly persistent and gave the best quote/price - white glove service $150/hr for 10 hours, $1500. And then they sent 3 young men with rusty screwdrivers and 2 dollies - obviously guaranteed to extend any move time. I literally found one mover lounging in my beanbag. By the time it was over, they apparently underbid by 60%... and then held my belongings hostage until I was forced to pay an additional $750. And then threatened to hold my TVs until I paid an additional $150!! Alex, the manager, attempted to extort additional money by charging me for the time it took for me to negotiate the release of my belongings. My furniture was not reassembled. My boxes weren't placed in the correct rooms. They broke a mirror before even leaving the first property. Nothing was placed strategically or with intention. I had to purchase a hand truck to rearrange the boxes and furniture. I found pieces of furniture outside on the ground after they left. During the 'end of move inspection' on the truck, I found cords, weights, and other key items. Just used your services yesterday. The movers were over an hour late, and although they were late the guys worked very well. They were very professional and personable. The thing that really caught me by surprise was the estimate I was given over the phone was not the final bill. I thought I was paying $500 but ended up paying $934. There are a lot of hidden fees they don't tell you about. They really should tell you about these charges up front. I was very disappointed and upset about this. Overall, my stuff was delivered safe and intact, it was just very expensive! The three guys that did the job were great though. If I could rate this company 0 stars I would. I waited several months to write this review as I was giving this company time to rectify a situation. I used this moving company back in June and was given a quote of $515 to move my items from my apartment to a storage facility that was literally 5 minutes away. I had everything packed up, bubble wrapped, disabled with the exception of 1 mirror. They charged me $267 to literally bubble wrap and shrink wrap a mirror that I could've done myself. In the end, my bill came up to $800 so don't listen to their "quotes" because it is not what you will be paying. That's not the reason for my 1 star it is due to the lack of customer service. The movers broke my dresser and told me to "just glue it back together". I told them that I will not do that and to take it away as it is now junk. Alex told me that he put in the claim. I followed up with him in July, he seemed to not know what I was talking about (meaning he probably didn't put in the claim). I followed up in August and September and was told a check was mailed to me. It is now November and I never received a check for my damaged belongings. I called to follow up with Alex once again, and asked for the insurance company's name and claim number so that I can call myself and of course, no response from Alex. I would not recommend using this company. I also followed up with Alex in February and March. Of course, he's blaming COVID-19 for the insurance company not responding to him. Since then, I have taken my items out of storage and noticed that the company damaged even more items than i thought. My dresser had 2 broken legs and it was brand new and not cheaply made. My chester had deep scratches on them and it was flawless before the movers touching. I took photos and video of all of my belongings before the movers came so I know the condition of everything. Booked Tiger Movers for a move this past weekend solely off of Yelp reviews. Thanks to my fellow Yelpers for pointing me in the right direction. I called a week before and they were able to accommodate me for 3pm move on a Saturday. Their prices were more reasonable than others I called. The move went well and the 3 men did a great job. They were quick and efficient. My deduction on stars comes from the fact that they were 1.5 hours late and I was never informed that it would be a minimum charge of 4 hours which is what I was quoted for. I moved a lot of items myself prior to keep the cost lower but that didn't matter because even though the job only took 3 hours, I was still charged my exact quote of 4 hours. One star is also very high for the Tiger Movers. If I had a choice I would rate them in negative. So I did my move with tiger movers on 01/09/2020 and that was most horrific experience I have ever had with anyone. I was given a quote of $425 for 1 bedroom apartment with no hidden fees for 4 hours of service by Alex (world's biggest liar). I was moving from New Brunswick to Jersey city. So I rejected a flat rate of $742 by another company thinking I would save $300 and Alex has said that it will be done in less than 4 hours. Moving day: People were late that's fine as billing time doesn't start until they start loading the boxes. Before the start Billy(foreman) took a signature of mine on a document saying it's just a formality if anything breaks it won't be their responsibility and I signed it not knowing that I am digging my grave. They took 4 hours to load 18 boxes, a couch, bed frame , dining table set and a dresser. To cut the ordeal short , they took more than 7 hours to move the entire stuff for which they initially said 4 hours. They also charged us an additional $300 for having to park their truck more than 50feet from both the apartments(FYI this wasn't mentioned to us at anytime). What started as an initial quote of $425 ramped up to $1140. I have written this long review just to ensure that people see what crook these movers are. I don't want anyone to go through what we experienced. Please please don't ever hire these unprofessional people to do your work and beware of the guy name ALEX. Tiger Moves from Lodi is a scam. My initial quote was $360 and my final bill was $720. They insisted on wrapping my furniture and blankets in tape and plastic wrap which I said I did not need because my furniture was old. When they went to unload they gave me the new bill which was double of my estimate and wanted cash. They would not unload my furniture until I gave them the cash. Since I didn't have that much money I had to go to the ATM and they held my mattress and box spring hostage till I returned with the balance due. Their website says packing materials are available at an additional cost but nowhere does it say they are mandatory And nowhere on their website are the prices listed for the additional items . Also I was charged $50 in sales tax and there is no tax on moving in New Jersey! One of the best moving experiences I have had, I helped my friend research a company in her area and came across this one. I also reached out to a couple others since this was going to be a big move so we could be confident in our decision. They arrived on time and very carefully followed our instructions to handle certain items with care. The two employees that were sent were professional and you can tell that they took pride in their work. I enjoyed working with this company because their prices are great and there is no secret charges that some companies tag on at the end. Terrible, shady company -I chose them because they gave me an estimate lower than other companies. However, they ended up charging me 3x what I was estimated due to extra charges that I was not informed about... I understand that it can come out higher than the estimate but it was ridiculous. Then they hold your stuff hostage in your truck and force you to pay them. When I was negotiating payment with them, I was promised a $50 refund if I spoke to my building management after the move. However, the coordinator kept stalling with bs excuses not to give me the refund, and eventually ghosted me when I pressed on him. I discussed multiple times with their coordinator that I had a very specific allowed move in window in my new building and that they needed to arrive on time, and was assured this was no problem. The movers arrived 3 hours late and had no idea that I had a schedule at all. This was a big problem for me at my new building where I almost couldn't move in. they brought a massive truck that was 5x too large for the job, which was a problem as there was no place to park it, and it took them 45 minutes to drive it half a mile because they couldn't maneuver it. I got multiple comments from doormen, etc, about how unprofessional these guys were- making rude comments in the building lobby, not handling my stuff carefully, being needlessly inefficient. I can see where they damaged some of the public spaces in my building, and some minor damage to my furniture. They made an already stressful experience much more stressful. I wish I could rate this company negative stars but in order to post I had to select at least 1 star (that's giving them to much credit) This company is a BS company if your looking for someone high off of methadone to move your stuff or looking for crackheads to move your furniture hire them. I should've known something wasn't right when the movers walked into my home stating wow you have really nice stuff and your house looks really nice. He stated he's used to moving people who has "IKEA furniture" as if something is wrong with IKEA furniture. I didn't respond to that comment only said thank you. I should've know they probably wasn't experienced in moving expensive items or used this company to move me into a storage unit. On the day of the move 1 of the 3 guys that was supposed to handle the move walked off the job didn't even tell anyone he was leaving. That left me with two movers to handle a whole 5 bedroom house. Thank God I already packed my own boxes otherwise we would've never completed the move. The two movers couldn't handle the job. While they were packing my TVs as the TVs and furniture I did not wrap myself one of the guys dropped the TV right in front of me and told me to calm down when I screamed about it. I asked for my furniture to be wrapped with plastic when we got to the storage unit one of the movers stated he didn't wrap my 4 thousand dollar sofa in plastic because he was trying to save me some money which I never not once complained or mentioned the price. I was willing to pay whatever it would cost to move my expensive furniture into a storage unit. The one mover then proceeded to move a dresser off the truck dropped and broke the dresser right in front of myself and my partner. Myself and my partner had to end up helping them load and unload the moving truck. The move should've been completed in hours however due to the pace these people move and the lack of professionalism it took 15 hours to move from Essex County NJ to Ocean County NJ. I spoke to Alex S who was supposedly coming to help with the move since 1 man left the job. We then was told because it was a Sunday evening Alex S wouldn't be able to make it to help his guys with my move. I spoke to Alex the very next day as by the time the move was complete it was after midnight. My conversation with Alex didn't help much he apologized for what happened and stated he was trying to make it to help the movers but couldn't because it was late. I immediately told Alex I needed to file a claim but I needed to wait until I was able to move my stuff out of storage as I was selling a buying a home at the same time. My belongings were in a storage unit for 3.5 weeks. I contacted Alex via email to find out when is the deadline to file a claim. He never responded to my first email I then had to send a second email. When Alex responded he said within 30 days of the move. My move was 11/14/2021. I called Alex yesterday to file the claim he stated on the phone I had 14 days to submit the claim, but when I stated his email stated otherwise he then proceeded to BS around and say well it's to late to submit the claim it would've needed to be submitted by 5pm mind you I was on the phone with him at 440pm. He then tried to burn time by placing me on hold to look at a calendar and count the days slowly 1 by 1. To then tell me to send pictures and details about the items. I sent the email with the information he requested. How dare he lie and say 14 days but his email said 30 then he said I can't submit the claim because the claim company closes at 5pm. He tried to use every excuse under the sun to not file my claim within 30 days. I will be contacting their corporate office hopefully they have one every time I seem to call their 855 number Alex answers the phone as well as taking legal actions against this HORRIBLE "MOVING COMPANY" . As Alex doesn't believe my dining room set that his worked scratched and dented up by not professionally packing the storage unit is real wood he refuses to submit my claim. Use this company at your discretion because my experience was the worst I've ever experienced in life. I wouldn't recommend this company to my worst enemy. They charged 200$ fumigation for one cockroach they saw and 600 in packing and tools..but they never used anything more than 50$.. They asked to payup before unload and i was left with no choice at all...thought of calling police but it was about to rain heavily so paid up.. Horrible movers. They arrived 2 hours late. Made homophobic comments, made fun of the place I was moving to. Left boxes wherever they wanted regardless of where I wanted it placed. They "lost" a box but never even responded back when I reached out about it. Some very easy to distinguish items with dates and initials from the missing box were found in the city where the moving company is located in. I had gotten a quote with the company. Over the phone I reviewed all the furniture that needed to be moved and this was for a one bedroom apartment. I was quoted 3 hours and given an estimate of packaging costs for all the furniture reviewed. Come the day of the move they were 45 minutes late. The movers were slow and lackadaisical. They took their time packing which took over 3 hours to do for a 1 bedroom set up. When getting to the drop off location I'm given an invoice that was more than twice the estimate in terms of hours AND packing costs(220% of original estimate). Not to mention I had to lend the movers tools to dismantle the furniture, which I never got back. I had to call the company and complain about the movers and their terrible work attitude, I explained all the issues involved. I caught the moving foreman on several lies given to the company about the move, saying they had to park far away and that there was an extra flight of stairs. In the end I was still forced to pay almost twice the original quote(160% of original estimate). Also be wary of any quote because they also charge an extra hour on any move which they state as a "Truck to garage" fee. One of my dressers show a large chip of wood after the move. read more

I recently requested Tiger Movers to move a few pieces from my ex-husband's home. He called me up to let me know that they robbed him out of a few items in the bathroom. I called Alex to inform him, and he stated that he would have the driver call me. When I called Alex back, supposedly bad communication line on the phone like he didn't want to be recorded because his voice was gargled. Well, I'm finally looking through my desk and I can't find my cordless keyboard for my Mac desktop. Either they all in cahoots in robbing people or the hired help are criminals. I have used them 3 times now and the first two times were great. Unfortunately this most recent time was terrible! They quoted me for 3 guys buy only sent two and yet the price didnt change. The two men they sent draped a moving cloth over the chairs of my $600 dollar dining room table set that isn't even 2 years old. Well the one mover dropped them. I then asked for then to be wrapped properly. I inspected the chairs and they were not damaged. The same can't be said for the actual table top. The cracked the corner of the table. They also broke off the leg of our TV stand making it unusable. Well, Billy the Forman of the job called Alex who is the owner. Billy informed me that Alex would be calling me to go over the insurance process for my broken items. If you think for one second that Alex called you would be wrong. The jerk wont even return my damn call. If he thinks I will stop calling he has another thing coming to him! It has been a week! I am going to call the better business bureau on him. DO NOT USE THEM!! They start with a lower cost to get your business and then they try to scam you for more money as they go along. My quote was for $410, they got to the drop off location and said it was now going to be $896 with no explanation. They started off being 2 hours late blaming traffic, I took the same route as they did and there was no traffic at all going south. They cracked the pedestal of the kitchen table, chipped the dresser, damaged the sheet rock. The one guy that wasn't in charge told us people call the cops on us all the time. They were so terrible, threatening us that they were going to take the furniture, they upset my sister to the point of tears. THEY ARE A TOTAL SCAM, YOU'LL BE SORRY IF YOU USE THEM. read more
