I called to ask about a pen leak in a blazer and instead of telling me that they couldn't fix it, the person on the phone had the audacity to say I was simply "stupid". Terrible customer service and probably no skills to match. As a manager of a high end fashion retailer, I would never recommend this cleaner to any of the hundreds of customers who grace my doors. **UPDATE** I called my usual dry cleaner, Westmoreland Cleaners, and they said they could make any promises but that I should definitely bring it by. Absolute professionals! What a standard, easy answer to give when you are in business to do business and seek business by proving a service standard. I couldn't recommend them more highly. As a retail customer service and management professional, I would easily say that the behavior on the phone that I received from Tigard cleaners was so egregious, the principal of how to not speak to clients so obvious, that it is beyond coaching and actually warrants termination. This person should not be customer facing in any way. With that, I'm not their manager. But I wish the best of luck to the business owners and managers there. You're obviously missing out on untold sales due to...well, stupidity and poor service. read more

I recently had an issue where I needed my lab coat cleaned a lot sooner than originally planned/agreed upon, and when I called in the afternoon to get it expedited, I was promised it'd be ready the next morning for me to pick up on my way to work. Love love love this cleaner! Stumbled upon them as I was driving through downtown Tigard a while back, as one of my colleagues told me I should take my suits to them. So, because it was a referral from someone I know, I stopped in. Let me tell you, the pricing is way better than what I was paying, AND... they got a couple stains out of some dress shirts that 2 previous dry cleaners were unable to get out. I don't know what they use, whether it's harsh chemicals, ancient Chinese secret (if you're a 70's or 80's child you'll get that reference), or if they use magic, but frankly I don't give a damn. I have been going to this cleaners for 16 years. I tried other cleaners fjor a couple of years when I first moved here and there was no comparison. The service is topnotch and the work is excellent. My parents owned a cleaners when I was a kid and this is the kind of business they ran, therefore , I feel very comfortable leaving my clothes with Darby in charge. She takes time to know her clients, is dependable, and fixes anything she sees that needs attention. Drapes, dresses, blouses, now my grandsons work shirts all go to Darby. When I was laid up a few months ago my cousin took my dry cleaning to the wrong cleaners. Wow, the shirts did not look pressed, they used no starch. It was awful. I went into Tigard Cleaners with my brand new bright yellow down coat, I accidentally got some wood stain on the sleeve and was heartbroken. When the owner looked at it she told me "it is stain you know". I went to leave more than a little depressed I had done that to my coat but she told me to wait a minute because she had an idea. She took the coat into the back and sprayed it with something, when she brought it out she had to point out where the stain had been, what a miracle worker!! This is such a great business! I brought my mother-in-law's formal dress in to get a stain cleaned a couple of years ago and received it back with wonderful results. The owner is such a helpful and kind woman. I just went in to try to get a Christmas tree skirt cleaned because my dog peed on it. She told me that the dry cleaning process would cause the colors to bleed, and instead gave me lots of guidance on steps that I could take to try to deal with the issue at home. This is such an honest and helpful encounter that I really appreciated it. When asked how often i should bring my husbands wool coat in to be cleaned, she made recommendations to keep it in good condition longer and gave me some storage bags to take. I always really appreciate business owners who will give you honest answer even when it means a little less business for them at the time. This is great business sense, and pays in the long run--because of this I will definitely be back to this dry cleaner, and recommend Tigard Cleaners highly to others!! read more

I brought my fathers WWII navy pea coat here for dry cleaning. It was cleaned perfectly in just a couple of days, for much less than I had thought it would cost. And when I talked with the owner about wanting to restore some of the original buttons on the coat (which had some generic modern buttons), she brought out a box of original navy pea coat buttons, let me select the ones I wanted and then sewed them on the coat. That must have taken her quite a while, but she did not charge for the buttons or the labor. What a nice person! Businesses with big hearts are scarce these days.
