After looking at Jemistry's Instagram page and seeing her flawless work, I decided to book an appointment with her. Despite her busy schedule, Jemistry was able to squeeze me in for an appointment. My original bundles and lace closure, which I provided, did not have the same color. Thus, Jemistry accommodated me and did a color correction on my bundles so that the color would match the color of my lace closure. And these are my results of the lace closure Install! I love how my hair looks and feels, and I'm really amazed at the results. For expert coloring, last minute appointment accommodations and amazing work, book Jemistry hair studio! First red flag was her scheduling a video consultation yet never calling and claims she forgot about it yet she set the date and time. Next the 100 dollar deposit which I tried to just role with even though to me that's very steep. Next I come on time for my appointment and there no receptionist. I text to let her know I'm here and she comes out and says I think your my client. Like what? Wouldn't most professionals say ex Ashley? Idk small indicators was pointing towards the unprofessionalism ahead of time. I promise I came in at 11 am and was nearly having my hair bleached until a good 1 to 2 o'clock before any other work started which was highly questionable to me but could be standard but was unheard method to me but I tried to trust the "professional". And next berating me and raising her voice at me like I was her child because I didn't like her work so far after asking if my hair color would stay as bright while she was adding the color on and could easily just make the changes. Her disgusting attitude persist after I just try to ask can she wash it out and she tells me no without explanation rudely while sipping on a drink. I go to the bathroom to wash the dripping color that she failed to wipe off the cape and then came back to yell some more about getting under a dryer like I'm a kid and washing my hands for 30 seconds due to her sloppy work would ruin things. I came in for midnight blue hair and this lady gives a dark skin woman blue blue hair. It was so unflattering but it didn't matter to her to put her name on what the customer felt unflattering because it's about the money for her. Even another customer in the shop looks over who was unaware and asked is that royal blue? Exactly royal blue and midnight blue two different colors. A good stylist would reassure you through the process and work with you but she fanned the flame by saying well that's what you asked for don't blame me! Yelling, you over her giving me all this attitude! Mind you I said nothing nothing prior to her tangent but surely my face did because its my hair! Been natural for years and its not what I asked for. When I did nothing but ask a simple question. She was very rough with my natural hair the entire time roughly raking the comb from the top to bottom. Any African American knows with black hair to detangle you start from the bottom middle and THEN top to detangle with a comb. She was so very obnoxious. Very disrespectful. Tried to do something nice for myself and just role with it and trust a "professional" and ended up with the experience from Hell. By 3 pm which the blow drying process would have just started after being there for the longest I just opted out, I had enough of the disrespect and just wanted to pay her for services so far and just be on my way. In which at first she tried it and to say I would still have to pay her for all services and my response is yeah only for what you've already done. Then there was comments about me messing up the screen because it close out during payment on my way out even doing that. I swear to God I was boiling. Thank God my sister was able to help me after leaving the shop with my hair and color to level things out. This is the exact reason people are leery of supporting black businesses because that representation right there. I love my people but I'm so tired of encountering this same archetype hairstylist everywhere! Very disappointing experience.

After wearing braids for almost 10 mths straight, I felt it was time to explore and find a new stylist and salon to make my home. After three months of stalking their IG page (lol) and also looking at other salon pages, my heart settled on Cole Stevens. I knew the Belle Point location would be ideal because I lived in the BWI region, so I decided to book an appointment with Renee. After reading Renee's bio, I knew she was the stylist I wanted based on the look and creativity I was looking for with my hair. Let me just tell y'all, this team did NOT disappoint me. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted and treated like a A-list client. The team was amazing; and can I just tell you how Renee slayed this hair of mine!!!! I went in for one look, but after she shared her knowledge and expertise regarding my hair we decided to go with a different look and I absolutely LOVE IT!!!! Without those things, the service becomes little more than someone else's opinion at someone else's price. Clear communication shouldn't be optional, especially when expectations or pricing may differ from what a client reasonably anticipates. No one should leave an appointment feeling confused about either the outcome or the final bill. Trust is built through transparency, professionalism, and making clients feel heard. When those things are missing, even the most talented stylist can leave a lasting disappointment. Trust takes time to build and only one appointment to lose.

She took absolute excellent care of my hair. It grew like weeds in her care. Michelle chose an appropriate relaxer for my desired & hair type, and she ensured my relaxers never burned. She was usually able to get me into her chair on time, with natural delays here & there. They worked with me when I had an issue that caused me to require cancellation at the last minute. I also like their equipment and the seating was comfortable. I'll say that some of the stylists are really not good about replying to requests for information, and I usually had to call the salon to get a reply. The website is decent but really needs to be updated. A detailed FAQ section would save potential clients a lot of time. Both of these issues are easily fixable, though. Parking was usually fine & stress-free and it's on a major bus line. Although I'm taking a different direction with my hair, I definitely recommend this salon for folks looking for a permanent salon home.

As soon as she started her 2nd client, she and her client began to talk about something completely inappropriate and the owner made comments that have no business being said around clients, particularly a new client she had never met. She gave me a proper cost quote and offered me a time slot the same day. The cost was comparable to what most salons charge for natural services these days. The shop is nice and well maintained. The conversation with her and Yannick was also really nice. At the end of the day a picture is worth more than words so look for yourself. I like it for the most part just a little different than my norm. I'm most interested to see if I can keep this looking nice the next day and the next day. I'm looking for styles natural techniques and styles that allow me to be heat free for some periods of time. I think I bump with heat throughout the week more often than I should.
