Please keep in mind I am a returning customer and Bubbles member for 5+ years. I waited for my stylist for 45 minutes, mind you, there were only three customers there. I finally got tired of waiting and spoke to one of the other stylists at the front (who was just sitting there talking to another hairstylist's customer for 20+ mins and couldn't be bothered to ask if I had been helped). The chatty hairstylist went and grabbed my stylist. My stylist said her app on her phone never alerted her. I call bs. I could smell the vodka on her breath. We visited the Bubbles Salon in Waugh Chapel (Feb 2024). Janine was very transparent, throughout my daughter's hair appointment. I appreciated her communication very much. My daughter did as well. Janine was very mindful of connecting with and asking questions of my daughter, to ensure her hair was cut to her liking. She explained the process to us both and the end result was beautiful. Janine was professional and kind. Definitely recommend. The establishment was clean and well-lit. All staff present were friendly and professional. I made an appointment online two days ahead. I have a pixie undercut and I had been to this location before for the same cut about a month ago. I only needed my sides and the back shaved. When I arrived, I was asked what I needed done and when I told the stylist at the front desk, she said she didn't do pixie cuts or clipper cuts. There were two other stylists there and one of them said she didn't do clipper cuts either. The other stylist said she wouldn't do a cut unless I got my hair shampooed. I had asked for no shampoo because I've had neck surgery and it's painful for me to lean back in the sink. I was willing to pay the normal price, but I just didn't want the shampoo. The stylist at the front desk said I should've selected a clipper cut on the website, but there is no option for that when booking online. She told me I could come back in three hours at 7:30pm or reschedule. This whole experience felt like they just didn't want to deal with my haircut, so I won't be returning. The odds of three stylists being unable to complete my cut seems suspicious, especially when I had an appointment and I was actually asking for less services but willing to pay full price. I always tip 20+%, so I'm not sure if they just didn't like me or if it was a colossal coincidence that three stylists were unable to help me. I felt unwelcome and I will not recommend this salon to anyone ever again. I don't want anything from management who may be reading this except to please consider how you are treating your customers. I'm a loyal customer when I find a good business and I tip well. I wanted Bubbles to be my hair salon, but this experience has turned me off forever. read more

I went into the salon for a trim - I mentioned I had long layers and wanted to keep them. She ended up cutting about 1.5 inches off and really short layers that she didn't blend. In the front of my hair she cut a ledge that's easily 2 inches higher than the rest of my hair that she attempted to blend but failed at. Looks like I just have outgrown bangs. Extremely disappointed and errors that will take years to correct. While the stylist was very nice - I won't be returning. read more

I specifically booked with a "Senior Stylist" - at added cost - because I wanted help with my hair. I was looking for guidance, inspiration, and an updated look. I prefer a wash-and-go style, but paid extra to have a blow style because my daughter is getting married next week, and I wanted to see my styling options. I told Rose what my past experiences had been, what I was looking for, and aside from asking to keep some length, gave her free rein on the style. After she finished, she could see I wasn't happy with the look, went back in with scissors to try to "fix" it. I honestly can't remember when I've been so disappointed in a salon result. Once I took a closer look, it appears that the stylist just followed my previous cut - which I SPECIFICALLY told her I disliked - and gave me "China girl" bangs (being as I am Asian, this was not only NOT stylish, but felt a little insulting as well). When the stylist turned me around at see the finished result, the first words out of my mouth were "Wow. I hate it. " I'm pretty sure I said the phrase "Yeah,I hate it" several more times as I paid. (And yes, I DID tip). Three hours later, and I still hate it. It looks like the kind of haircut you give to your 2nd-grader at the kitchen table. My husband's response when he saw it was "You paid someone for that? You could have done it better yourself...blindfolded. Did the lady even look at you? " So. Yeah. Less than happy. read more

I will not be back to this salon. I tried to be understandable when they were running behind but I at least want you to put the energy into doing a great job with my hair if I'm waiting patiently. My big issue is I asked for a trim and I noticed my hair was cut uneven when I got home as was taking a closer look. I honestly can't believe anyone would allow their client to walk out the door like this. Terrible experience. I won't be going back. I went in for blonde highlights that should have been in and out in 90 min or less and I was there 3 hours and came back red and not blonde highlights. The girl was young and the place was so dirty and unclean and she had no experience. Thank goodness I didn't let her cut my hair. I never give bad reviews but I am so disappointed and now I need to pay money again to fix it and the time to do it. Absolutely horrible experience with this salon. To start I showed up at 2:58 for a 3:00 appointment but my stylist was running so behind my appointment didn't start until 3:30. Only when she was ready to take me back did she even realized that my appointment should've started 30 minutes before. I should've walked out then because it only got worse. Both my wash and cut were rushed (I assume this was due to how late it was). The stylist sat me down and asked what I wanted done which was nothing off the bottom just trimming the ends, fixing up my layers, and recutting my curtain bangs. In her own words she said it would be a "dusting" and she absolutely wouldn't take off more than what we discussed. Yet I ended up walking out with 2-3 inches less than I came in with and choppy uneven layers. I can't even fix this atrocious haircut because that would mean taking off even more length when I didn't want to lose any at all. As for my bangs she barely cut them as all but I guess I should be grateful considering how butchered the rest of my hair is. The time spent blow drying my hair took longer than the wash and cut combined. Then at the end I got charged an extra $10 for "extreme length" which was not stated before. Luckily I won't get charged that again since my length got taken off. I always tip and even did so this time but upon getting home and seeing just how bad my hair looks I wish I could take that back. Do yourself a favor and save your money and your hair by avoiding this salon. read more

scheduled a keratin treatment for my sister and I days ago only to get a call that one stylist had to cancel hours prior to the appointment. The 1 star is for being quoted three different prices. One receptionist said $250 base. Another said no more than $150 dollars. And the lady who called to cancel said she was unable to give a price estimate and the stylist provides cost during consult. Screams being ripped off after getting hair done. I'll pass. Wouldn't recommend this salon. I can't speak on how well they do hair though. read more

I came to see Bree for color based on a recommendation from a friend and it was one of the best decisions ever. Bree is the best colorist I've ever been to. I have returned several times over the last year and a half and have come to trust her vision. I always walk out with beautiful multi dimension color and people always complement my color. Her professionalism and extensive knowledge of color is impressive. The salon is always clean and well organized and it's a relaxing place to have my hair done. On February 10, 2022 I booked an appointment with a Master Designer I for Wednesday February 23rd at 6pm. This appointment was for my daughter to get her hair trimmed and blown out for an event. I received a confirmation text AND email on Monday, February 21st, and clicked the "confirm" button so naturally, I thought we were all set. On Wednesday at 6pm, I arrive at the Bubbles Salon in Gambrills and long story short - the stylist I scheduled my appointment with got fired and the only stylist who was there was booked with clients. That stylist called her colleague and was told that they called the clients on the fired stylists schedule to cancel. I RECEIVED NO TEXT, NO CALL, NO EMAIL. The stylist that was there offered to do her hair after all her appointments (after 8pm) but that was not doable for me. I was already annoyed and inconvenienced, I refused to give that salon my money. This was just unacceptable and BAD BUSINESS. read more

I've had my hair done here a few times. I've had mostly good luck but I went a few weeks ago my haircut and full highlights weren't great. She didn't show me the haircut with the hand mirror after she was done, so seeing it from the large mirror it looked fine. I got home and noticed how uneven it was and the harsh lines from both the highlights and lowlights she placed. The worst part is my hair was a little damaged before getting it done so I can't even have it fixed without risking more damage. I had to go elsewhere to have the cut fixed because it was noticeably uneven and I had to shell out more cash. I won't be going back again. It's bad when you're highlights look like they've been growing out for a month or more because she didn't get them anywhere near the roots. read more

I have honestly never been to a better salon. I started out going to Jaylyn (spelling? sorry!) and she was fantastic. I got an angled bob and went way blonde with her. She was fantastic and my cut looked great at my wedding. Just recently, I saw Nik. I have never had my hair cut by a guy before, but I seriously recommend this dude. I had a terrible cut before and he turned it into a little longer pixie cut. I would never have thought of going this short before, but I love it and it was the best experience I've had there. Hardly had to wait for my appointment (even when I was early), the salon is always clean, and everyone is super friendly. 5 stars! read more

I came in to get my first haircut since shaving my head last march. My hair is extremely curly, but when I straightened it, I had no idea what to do with the way it grew in (the back was way longer than the front, like an unintentional 80's mullet). I didn't even have a style in mind, I just knew I could not go on vacation with the way it looked. Ashlee was absolutely amazing. I was torn about even letting this great secret out of the bag, but she truly deserves the accolades. Tara is an expert colorist and hair stylist. This place is really bad. Used to be great. My daughter scheduled at appt for 3pm on a Sunday. (We had called the day before for a full color.). They called us around 2:15 asking if we could come in at 3:30, saying they're running behind. We say, "Ok. cool. No problem." Then she gets there at at 3:55pm they APOLOGIZE but explain they can't do her hair today because they didn't realize she wanted her whole head colored. They ask if we can come back again tomorrow. This is the second time this has happened in recent months. It happened to me (mom) about 5 months ago. When it happened to me the woman reluctantly took me and told me that the manger is "never there" and that everyone "calls in" and basically "fends for themselves". There is no team work. They have terrible service, their apologies get old and they need tighter management of their appointments. read more

Hit or miss.......as with most things, it REALLY depends on the stylist. I've gone three times, and can easily say that I strongly recommend Meredith, but stay away from Christy. The place is nice & clean, with a good selection of products. They offer bottled water, coffee or tea while you're waiting, and most of the staff are very friendly. It's always been pretty crowded when I've gone, and the stylists know their clients very well. Meredith made some great recommendations on local restaurants to try, and kept the conversation light and flowing throughout my haircut. One thing I REALLY like is that you can schedule your appointments online....just select your stylist and when you want to come in. What a time saver! $35 for a haircut, not bad, as long as you get a good stylist. And THAT is why it's important to read reviews and get recommendations! read more

I came here b/c I used to see Nik B. but he is gone and I needed a trim for a trip, I have long mostly healthy hair and a few layers. My last 'trim' and dry set me back 60 buck at FLOYD's ( I will have to post a separate review for that) UGH! I have been out of touch for a stylist and am not to fancy BUT am picky....and paranoid about seeing people I don't know so I always say just a trim. I called ahead and came in the next hour to Lizzy, who was great. Good Products, Nice Shampoo, clean cut, and nice blowdry my hair was soft and NOT greasy as it is sometimes when stylists that do not know my hair over product it.... I am VERY appreciative and would go back! 38$ after coupon :) very please... ps I Only went to Floyd's b/c I thought I would get a cheap quick trim...NOT! Beware this salon does not mind you waiting if you come early to your appointment. But when you come 15 mins late ( usually that's the allowance in any given appointment) , they are deadly. They will not accommodate you. This salon needs to train their staff on customer service. They're not flexible and when you come a little bit late, they do not know how to decline service to customer in a manner that the customer will not feel that bad.. no smile just a stern face. read more
