I really loved that they had half orders of many items which made it possible to choose a breakfast size that fits what you want. I had a half stuffed cherry waffle and a side of bacon. The waffle was crispy and delicious and the cream cheese and cherry filling was perfect and just the right amount. The bacon was crispy, fresh and still hot. Service was fast and friendly. The atmosphere is casual and diner-like. Next trip we will plan to come here on purpose!

First, the service. It was a little slow to get rolling but the gal who helped us out was top-notch. She discreetly brought him a bandaid, PUT IT ON & TOOK THE SOILED NAPKIN. Even now, it brings a teat to the eye. She was kind & understanding. To say it was touching would be an understatement. Each couple split a chicken pasty meal, the parents had water, while the hubs & I each added a local beer. The pasty crust was light & flaky. The filling wasn't overly seasoned but had good flavor. The slaw was sweet & solid. The star I would have docked for could be cleaner overall (those displays collect stuff) & faster in service gets a wash from the detail and time well-spent on that service. The animal covered chocolate was not as good as it looked. Just tasted like a steel cracker encapsulated in chocolate. None of the chocolates that I grabbed, and I had quite an assortment or special to me. The only one I liked was the dark chocolate with a caramel. Every other random dark chocolate piece I grabbed was just OK, but not special. A little disappointing after spending almost $37 on a variety of different chocolates.

They also have some packaged snacks so we picked up their local dried cherries and dried apples. We sat outside on the picnic benches but they also have plenty of indoor seating. Water is self service and the bathroom is rather far away from the cafe. I suggest not coming here if you're in a rush, because their service is on the slower side.

We checked in and were pointer to the seating around a fire pit. A huge pot sits in the fire and is boiling . As we take our seats the Boil master puts potatoes and onions in the pot. He explained and told the story of the Fishboil. He threw some Kerosene on the fire and it flared up . He next brought in the fish and let everyone see the fish then through it in the pot. He then warned everyone to prepare for the boil over. He threw a huge dish of Kerosene and the fire flared up . Then another and the fire reached ten feet as the pot boiled over. The whole time we had been sitting in a steady drip of rain but no one noticed. We headed in to the restaurant for our feast of whitefish potato's onions and of course lots of butter to drown it in. We sat under umbrellas but in the end we retreated to the inside for our cherry pie and ice cream dessert. The post office offers a great version of the Fish Boil and if you are in Ephraim be sure to make a reservation.
