The programming at this gym is unlike any other I've been to and I've been to my fair share over the years. It's not your typical Bro'd out CrossFit where you get injured. They have multiple options - if you want to go all out and do Olympic lifts then they've got you covered, but if you're feeling weak or tired or you're just getting back in the gym then they have plenty of scaled down movements that are perfect for you. There's something for everyone in each work out, every day. The community is unparalleled and everyone there is super cool and laid back - I can't say enough good things about this place. Tons of parties and get together a outside of the gym as well.

The facilities are okay, but could use some updating as the equipment is quite old and the variety of heavier weight options is lacking. It's frustrating to want to lift heavier but heavier weights are non existent. My biggest disappointment is with the passport system. Apparently this location only allows 2 passport visitors per class. Even if the class isn't full, this location won't allow more than two passport visitors at a time. They're more than happy to let you in the class by charging you an extra fee of $18 however. Sounds like a money grab to me! So disappointed to see a half full class with passport visitors being sent away just because they weren't allowed to come in without paying an extra fee! I've been to several other F45 locations throughout the US and other countries, and never experienced this with the passport visits. This location can definitely do better!

But nope seems like she had another commitment which was understandable. I thought maybe the owner would follow up with an apology but NOPE! I live in Oceanside so it is a commute to get down there. This place seems to cater to people who like to do their own thing and use more of an open gym style. If you're a new to CF or like structured classes w/ coaching, this is not the place for you. Classes aren't very organized or well-led by the coach. In the 3 classes I attended, I didn't even know if the class had started. People just do the warm-up on their own then go onto the workout. The gym is old. Pretty sure it's been around for 10+ years and it shows. It's not clean or very organized. Most of the plates are broken and mismatched. Hard to find a pair of the same brand that don't have the center ring broken out. Barbells are in all kinds of decrepitness. Everything is old and very worn. For being so established and at $200/month they should provide better equipment and coaching. There's better options for fitness and CF

Fearful that it would be too much for me at 57, I gave it a shot anyway -- making it my one indulgence in public after getting vaccinated. While it was quite the challenge at first, I quickly signed up for twice a week. After six weeks, I've found this chore turning into a craving, so now I've upgraded to an unlimited plan. While I've taken most of my late afternoon classes from Will, I've also taken classes from Grace, Taryn, and Jaden. All are great. They challenge me when they see I can take more, but let me throttle back a bit when it gets too much. It's just the right amount of a push that I need. Best of all, I've already lost eight pounds, I feel way better, and I know I'm doing something good for myself.

I had to stop for a while, because of knee problems, and then was just taking the Zumba classes at the YMCA in Encinitas, because they come with my membership. I decided it's time to "get serious" for 2019, and lose some weight and get in better shape, so I decided I'd go back to Marcela for her Zumba. No one else has quite the happy and peppy attitude she has! She has a genuine smile on her face all the time, and makes her classes extra fun! It's worth the extra money I put out now, because I have more fun and work harder. Please don't get me wrong, there is absolutely nothing wrong with the Y! I love it there and love the people. It's just that Marcela has something that is a true "cut above" with her Zumba! Also, the classes I take with her are MUCH smaller, making it more intimate. It doesn't hurt that after being away from her classes for about 3 years, I walked in, and she called me by name! Who does THAT? If you want a GREAT workout, check out her classes. She is upbeat ,fun and fabulous and plays the best music in her classes and and she always creates new dance routines so you are never bored... If you want to have fun dancing ,and burn some calories I would highly recommend Marcela's classes ...I always leave there feeling energized and happy!!!
