My friends and I stopped by this shop as it was our meeting point. We picked this shop as it had relatively high ratings, but it was a bit lacking in what we were looking for. I wouldn't say it has the worst drinks I've ever had, but it is just missing something. However, I would say that it is a very cute shop. It has quite a few different group games that you could play. There are also plenty of outlets to charge your devices if you plan to stay for a bit to study/work. I got a Lychee green tea, less ice, and 50% sugar. The drink itself was a bit lacking, the drink was a bit watery and didn't have a tea or lychee flavor to it. So it was a bit of a letdown. My friends got a coffee, and a different fruit tea , and they also agreed that it was a bit watery, but still tasted okay. The service a okay, the staff was super nice. Overall, I don't think I'll go out of my way to stop by again if I'm in town, as the drink was a bit lacking. read more

I love boba and when I see "lactose free creamer". that is a big nono. We almost left but my hubby wanted a regular tea. I ended up getting a boba... it usually is like a coffee mate brand, idk what they use. It was a very thick texture. The mango tea was your normal tea. Nothing special. Disappointed in my Almond Milk Tea. The boba was extremely sweet but the tea itself was watery and tasteless at 100% sweetness. Went back and added almond flavoring (the service person said this is the sweetener?) and it still tastes watery. My wife got a regular bubble milk tea and said the same. This new bubble tea spot replaced Vivi Bubble Tea (our favorite place for taro & almond milk tea) and since they just opened, we decided to try out their version. The drinks only come in one size but you can choose your sweetness & ice level and add toppings for 60¢ each. We got the taro milk tea with bubble and almond milk tea with lychee jelly. I probably should've went with 50% sugar bc 80% was too sweet for me. At Vivi, I used to get 70%. The taro mt was really good and the bubbles were perfectly cooked. It had a creamy, fresh taste, not made from instant powder and they use lactose-free milk for all their drinks. The almond mt with lychee jelly reminded my husband of an exact replica of Vivi's. He gets it with 140% sugar and loves his drinks extra sweet. Tidal Tea definitely live up to the hype with the quality and unique taste in their drinks. Though, I wish this place had a loyalty card or app like Vivi, KFT or Gong Cha where you can earn free drinks but it does not. The service was relatively slow bc the girl up front is still in training so please be patient with her. She was really friendly and I was greeted upon walking in by the gentleman who was training her. If you're in the Great Neck area and craving bubble tea, try this place out. I got a pumpkin milk tea, and it was pretty good! Only had 30% sugar but it was super sweet still. The lady at the front was super nice though, I forgot to add boba to my order and she just gave me some on the side afterwards when I realized my oversight. I appreciated that! Nice unique (but subtle) burnt taste to the tea, with super soft and flavorful bubbles. They had an array of different choices, such as almond milk tea and coconut milk tea. Of course I had to try one, so I got the coconut, and the subtle fruity undertones match the tea so well. Unfortunately, they only had two sizes, but that's a growing trend, so I don't blame them. What makes this place stand out from the crowd is the nice employee who worked there who gave me recommendations. There is a whole bar-like table with games and a surfboard designed table. Great creativity and beautifully designed store. Have I had better bubble tea? Yes. That doesn't stop this place from being a great bubble tea place to go in Great Neck... I'd recommend. Since Tidal Tea is on the south side of the GN LIRR station and I live on the opposite direction, I hadn't noticed they opened up. I actually found out about Tidal Tea through the TGTGapp. The staff seemed pretty close knit as I caught them right before closing and some staff were heading out, making plans as a group. While the staff was making my drink, the owner Kelvin... super chill... chatted me up. He explained they just opened two months ago and their other location is at City College in Harlem... which at first sounded like an odd choice for a boba shop but it makes sense bc he's an alum (CUNY representing). They're still fixing up this new location. They're planning on finishing up the rest of the first floor and opening up the basement level, so it'll be interesting to see what the space becomes. Got two oolong tea bobas and a strawberry tea boba. Since we were chatting, I completely forgot to mention to make it less sweet and light ice (most places make it overly sweet to the point of tooth decay upon first sip and chock full of ice that there is barely any actual drink). However, when I drank it, the drink was near perfect. Also, never been a huge fan of boba (irrational fear of choking on the balls... no comment) and the boba had a good balance between firmness and chewiness. No lie... I ain't gonna share the drinks and save them for tomorrow. On the cold walk back, I stopped off in my building's lobby to snap a pic of my boba in front of the Christmas tree (LOL) and to send to my nieces who I know would love this spot. Finally found a place that makes a boba that I don't always need to remember to tell them to cut down the sweetness and ice... Very good oolong milk tea. You could really taste the tea flavor in it and the tapioca was the perfect chewy consistency. The owner is real nice and seems to be really proud of his business as he should be. I've also tried their Lychee yogurt bubble tea. I'm not really a fan of yakult in general so it was a bit tart for my taste but I it was good nonetheless. Can't wait to try their other flavors! read more

Friendly staff, pleasant location, wide-ranging menu, typically high prices; all in all this is an upgrade over the previous Vivi at this location. However, the staff here don't seem to know how to properly brew tea--if you're buying the sugary, flavored, insane menu stuff, you'll never notice, but if you just order a straight tea (no milk) with just tapioca pearls added in, it quickly becomes evident that the tea is oversteeped, old, and just unpleasant. I've tried this location probably ~35 times, and I keep hoping it will deliver, but the tea is consistently bitter, and tastes like it's been sitting for too long. Again, not trying to knock this place--I want to give you my money! But please learn how to properly steep your teas and serve them only within a reasonable time frame, before they begin to taste like they've been sitting with tea leaves for hours. Just to prove I'm not biased here, I have the exact same criticism of TsaoCaa across the road--this seems to be an issue with many of the newer bubble tea chains. Gong Cha in Little Neck is the only one around that serves me consistently perfect tea with pearls that are fresh and not chewy/hard. Drove by for a bubble tea. Got jasmine milk tea and matcha latte. Both with bubbles. Their bubbles are good, chewy but not undercooked. Jasmine milk tea is alright as well. However their matcha latte tastes artificial. It tasted like those matcha milk you buy in Chinese supermarkets. Their sugar consistency is off too. I got both drinks for 30% sugar, Jasmine milk tea taste pretty much sugarless while the matcha one is still so sweet. read more

Kelvin and the team run a pretty good ship here. Customer service is phenomenal. The bubble teas come all in one size, but what I like about this place specifically is the consistency of the tea. The tea tends to have a stronger flavor and is not watery at all (which you may find at some places such as CoCo). What's also cool is they have a little area with a variety of Asian snacks to accompany with ur boba tea as well! Store is incredibly clean and modern. No complaints from me! My personal go-to is the Classic Milk tea with some boba 30% sugar and less ice. read more

Ordered an iced matcha latte and added tapioca because this is my go to when ordering from a new place. The matcha was good, but if you order from here I would stay away from the tapioca. It was stale or something it was very hard, which I've never experienced anywhere. But the rest of the drink was good so I'll give it another try just without the bubbles lol! read more

Took my daughter here today and the bubble were perfect ! Soft and chewy without being mushy and overly soft but didn't have that slight hardness that makes it hard to digest. Truly best bubbles I ever had. I ordered an oolong milk tea, 2 winter melons one with bubbles one with mango jelly and a strawberry cream slush with mango jelly. All so good and fresh. The strawberry cream slush was my daughter choice and it was like a very light slushy milk shake that tasted like I wanted to steal it from her. The jellies were in shapes of stars which delighted her and I equally! Wait was minimal and staff was so helpful patient and truly kind. I don't know if it requires extra long time to make a hot drink at this place, I waited a very long time for two drinks while no one is front of me and no order was being made before me. The staff is inefficient but that's ok, i'm here for the drink. However, the drinks are disappointing. The taro milk tea is artificially flavored and water down. While I appreciate them using real tea for their roasted oolong latte, the tea taste is overwhelming in a negative way, yet the drink as a whole still taste water down, maybe they use the wrong milk or simply not enough milk for it. I ordered 30% sweet level for both of my drinks. I also don't know if it makes a difference on who's making the drinks. I saw other reviews and im surprised that my experience is so far off from everyone else... I had never tossed any bubble tea drinks in the past and I had to for these two drinks. read more

I ordered a Fresh Taro Milk tea with boba and a jasmine milk tea with boba. It wasn't what I expected, however the customer service was good. For the Fresh Taro Milk Tea, I wouldn't call it fresh. It was definitely made with powder and artificial flavoring like many other bubble tea chains. The quality of the powder here reminded me of what you would get from a non-chain or franchised bubble tea store, more specifically bakeries that have bubble tea on the menu that don't specialize in selling it. The flavoring was more on the sweet side, and too sweet for me especially since they said I cannot order 0% sugar or no additional added sugar. For the jasmine milk tea the flavor of the jasmine tea was off, which made us suspect it was also either powdered or the creamer/milk was over powering. The bubbles or boba was cooked fine, but it was just ordinary. The location here used to house a VivI bubble tea and nearby there is already a Mr. Wish bubble tea store. Not sure why Tidal opened a store here as the competition in my opinion has better quality tea. read more

My family is a big fan of bubble teas and this place has Oolong tea, which isn't offered everywhere. The staff is very efficient and friendly, and the carry out bag is very nice compared to other places. There was a great variety of choices on the menu so we'd like to go back and try other flavors. My one comment would be that our 50% sugar and 30% sugar teas were still a bit on the sweet side. The bingo card for frequent customers is a cute idea! read more
