I am beyond thankful that I found this studio! I've practiced yoga on and off over the years, but…read moreover the last several months, this studio has inspired me to practice more consistently than at any other point in my life. I could shout out every instructor individually because they each bring something special to the studio. They are all warm and welcoming, attuned to each yogi in the room, and incredibly knowledgeable about yoga anatomy and philosophy. Tracy provides a sound bath at the end of all of her classes and strikes a beautiful balance between challenging you while encouraging you to listen to your body. Tanya has such a compassionate and caring presence and is wonderful at helping you find modifications that make each pose work for you. Simone's classes are thoughtfully sequenced to help you build mobility in different areas, and she does a great job explaining where you should feel each pose in your body. And I could keep going! I also love the additional offerings that help foster such a strong sense of community, like the Sunday night book club and the various workshops. Compared to other studios I've been to, I really appreciate the balance this studio strikes between giving you a great physical workout (like incorporating core work into most vinyasa flow classes) while still honoring the spirituality of the practice. You're encouraged to connect with the more spiritual aspects of yoga without it ever feeling too "woo woo." It is also really easy to find parking which makes going to the studio a stress-free experience. This studio has already become such a meaningful part of my life, and I'm so grateful to have found it. I genuinely miss being there on the days when work or life gets in the way of going. I can't recommend it enough!

I always leave feeling like I got a great workout while also feeling more balanced mentally and physically. I've taken tons of classes here, both 60- and 75-minute, and honestly haven't had a teacher I didn't like. Najla, Tanya, Tracy (love her sound bowls!), Jorge, Keren, Simone, you really can't go wrong. Every teacher brings something a little different while still staying true to the style of the studio. I also practiced here throughout my pregnancy and always felt welcome and supported. The instructors were great about giving me modifications without making me feel like I couldn't fully participate in class. Easy, free parking, a big open and clean studio, plenty of props, and super easy check-in. After years of coming here, it's still my favorite yoga studio!

My yoga practice began in 2019 while I was living in the Midwest. While there, I was lucky enough…read moreto find a studio that had so much to offer in every way (instruction style, class variety, scheduling options, studio amenities and cleanliness, easy parking, you name it--they nailed it), that I stayed hyper-loyal to them the entire time I lived there. I even did my 200 YTT training and certification with them! That place was like my second home filled with a rotation of chosen family. Once I moved back home to the South Bay, I knew I'd have a lot more options in terms of studios and styles, but that meant I would have to really shop around and play yoga tourist until I found a good fit. As much as I love yoga, I wasn't looking forward to this process. I didn't want to feel like the stranger, the noob, the clueless casual. I've now taken three classes at 423 Yoga (Yoga Sculpt with Melody, 90 Minute Vinyasa with Jill, and Hot Power with Lori), and I can say with a ton of confidence that this just might be my new home studio. Each of these amazing instructors offered an experience that was completely new to me in some way. I had a lightbulb "Aha!" moment in each class that ushered a breakthrough either in deepening a posture, activating a forgotten muscle, or releasing tension. I've taken hundreds and hundreds of classes (hot, yin, vinyasa, barre, sculpt, F.I.T., weighted yoga, etc.) and what kept me hooked into a regular practice was the daily reset that meant I might feel like Final Boss Yogi one day, and Newborn Baby Deer the next. I was surprised all the time. This type of surprise is a feature of a high quality studio with engaged instructors who don't see this as just another job. They live and breathe it, so their classes feel alive and valuable. In my opinion, Yoga should never feel overly predictable or like a snooze. The classes at 423 kept me locked in, focused, and completely in my breath and body. Class attendance has been on the smaller side, which I love. Overcrowded, loud, heated studios can be way overstimulating, and 423 doesn't feel like that at all. I want to let out a sigh of relief when I arrive, which is exactly what they delivered. The other yogis in attendance have been friendly and welcoming, which is also a plus. The variety of in-house equipment they let everyone use is impressive, and especially so since everyone does their part to actually sanitize each piece after it's used. This is SO rare! I also love that they have a big parking garage. This is such a huge plus anywhere in LA. TLDR: 423 Yoga is doing everything right, and I think I love them for it.

The teachers have their own unique flows that make a lot of sense to me. They take the time to correct postures as well due to the experienced teachers and smaller more intimate studio feel. Fantastic teachers - especially Michael! I have NEVER experienced such - individualized attention…read more- in a group yoga class - including in-person classes - even the Online classes here feel almost like in-person (and quite a bit better than the average yoga class elsewhere) because they give such clear, detailed instruction and adjustments. I never feel lost or like I'm just following the motions. Every class I feel involved and like I come away a bit more self-aware and more mindful of the world around me. I am learning to slow my frenetic, anxious thoughts and I am gaining a sense of well-being / comfort / calm (I cant think of the right word but un-attachment describes it partly - like being better able to let go and feel at peace). I absolutely contribute this to my yoga practice - and specifically to the knowledge and insights that I've gotten from teachers here - particularly Michael and also Lisa. Lisa's gentle classes are very relaxing and easy to do. She provides TONS of background for why we're doing a particular pose, variations to try, how to account for injuries, etc). Michaels classes are something different altogether. It is never simply him telling you to do a pose or giving a demonstration (like what I've seen at the gym or some flow studios). I've come to realize that such 'corporate-style' or 'gym-style' yoga instruction is only very basic; geared more toward 'fitness' vs actual yoga like I am learning here - which goes far beyond just exercise and into our thoughts, perceptions of things, etc. I have always had anxiety issues and I did cardio and some strength training for years before I started yoga, and that definitely helped my physical and mental well-being. I loved the feeling of getting / being 'in shape' and having that sense of satisfaction from the endorphins after a good workout. But that feeling always wore off eventually and never gave me the sense of 'bliss' or calm that I can feel from a really good yoga class - and workouts alone never taught me how to manage my stress and anxiety AFTER the endorphin rush wore off. I've also had a hard time keeping up a regular meditation practice (which, yes, would really help with things like stress and anxiety) but real yoga, done correctly, is able to combine aspects of exercise and meditation into something more. If there's one thing that I cannot stress enough - HAVING A GOOD, KNOWLEDGEABLE, EXPERIENCED YOGA TEACHER - not just a fitness instructor - IS KEY TO MAKING PROGRESS IN YOUR OVERALL HEALTH AND WELL-BEING - mind, body, and soul!!
