I visited this studio today for the first time in a very long time. The last time I came (over 5 years ago), I unfortunately had a poor customer service experience and hadn't been back since. I decided to give it another try today and I'm really glad I did. The front desk staff were extremely helpful and kind from the moment I walked in, which made the experience feel very welcoming. I took a Yin class with Nicole and her voice was so calming and soothing, it made the class incredibly relaxing. I booked it through ClassPass and did not regret it at all. Let me preface this by mentioning that I have never even taken a yoga class before but I've always wanted to try hot yoga. I took advantage of the welcome week promotion in the South Bay location and throughly enjoyed it. 26 & 2, and Hot Power Fusion Lizzy - Incredible instructor, SO patient and kind, walked me through all the movements with clear instructions and encouragement. While 26 & 2 was probably not the best first ever yoga class to take, Lizzy set clear expectations and took care of me and the class Power Erica - Great instructor, I could listen to her talk all day! She narrates the class with intentional and positive encouragement and I appreciate her music selection that stays in tune with the movements All in all, it was such a great experience! I left each class drenched in sweat but exhausted AND revitalized. read more

Great studio to practice hot yoga but AVOID their "teacher trainings" at all costs; they are a scam. Other instructors voiced to me that the trainings are a racket before I did mine and I should have listened... They will give you a set sequence to memorize but teach you NOTHING about safety cues or anatomy.... They will try to then upsell "mentorship" for another $500... They often do NOT hire people from their own trainings. You will NOT be given the tools to be a sustainable yoga teacher. It's a literal MLM, given that instructors ARE incentivized to get people to sign up and earn commission. If you want to genuinely learn how to teach yoga, go elsewhere. read more

I've been coming to this studio for about five years now, and it continues to be one of my favorite places to practice. It's spacious, clean, and well-maintained, and they recently renovated the bathrooms-no more clogged showers, which is a big plus! Everyone who works here is incredibly sweet, thoughtful, and welcoming. With two studio rooms, there's a great variety of classes offered throughout the day. Some of my favorite teachers are Maria, Erica J, and Kellie for Power, Bay for Sculpt, Julian for Barre, and Lizzie for Hot Power Fusion. My only feedback is that sometimes the rooms can get a bit too hot, making it difficult to stay in certain poses. But overall, this studio is a gem, and I'm so grateful to have it as part of my routine. read more

The place is very inviting and I love having the class pack to drop in because the times available does not work with my work schedule. I tired their welcome week package and what an amazing experience! This is definitely not an easy workout to do, especially if you're new to hot yoga. I will say that this studio feels much warmer compared to the other hot yoga studios such as bright side yoga or core power but it really pushes you to the limit! The front of the class is much warmer so I suggest picking a spot in the back of the room if it's your first time. I loved the Yin yoga class, which was amazing to stretch and really ground your body. Be prepared to sweat but also feel amazing after. I brought my own towels but they have towels for you as well for a small fee. I highly recommend trying if you are looking for a challenge!! read more

I have never been to a Hot Yoga 8 before so maybe this is the standard. I went for a trial class and was immediately put off by the very corporate vibe. It didn't feel warm or welcoming. I knew immediately it wasn't for me. And that was confirmed once i went into the studio. It's smelled awful. I was also grossed out by the rubber web like floor. You could tell there was no way they were thoroughly cleaning in between classes. I saw the mirrors being wiped down but not the blocks or floors... I felt like i was in a petri dish. The place was swarming with germs. I have practiced hot yoga before and am not a germaphobe. i couldn't wait to get out of there. It was stifling. Teacher was ok but felt the need to announce her pronouns before starting, (insert eye-roll). The whole place felt very robotic and lacking soul. The opposite of what i look for in a yoga studio. Music was weird too. Needless to say i ended up getting sick that evening with a sore throat. Never again. read more

I was a member at Hot 8 Southbay for about a year and a half. In that time I did almost 350 classes. I was a regular. So I liked the classes, I liked the instructors and the front desk people, and I liked the workouts and how hot the rooms were. Those things are all great. What is problematic, however, is management. Back in January of 2024 I was offered the opportunity to have a founding membership. I could only take classes at the Southbay Studio, I had to pay up front for a year, but it was at a greatly discounted rate which I was locking in for the future. In November I started receiving texts and emails about renewing my founding membership. Since my membership didn't actually expire until February and there was a lot going on with the holidays I put renewing on the back burner until January. When I was ready to renew my membership I asked what I had paid the prior year. At this point I was informed that they weren't going to honor my Founding Membership plan, despite the fact I was supposed to be locked into that price. Instead, to have the same unlimited membership my rate was going to increase by $1000 a year - which, again - needed to be paid upfront. I was told this was a decision by corporate, and that founding members had to be members when the studio was actually founded. But what irked me about the situation, is why I was never informed of this. I even said to the three different people I was in communication with that if I had told them to go ahead and renew my membership at any point in 2024, would I have even been informed of the rate change or would I have only discovered it when my credit card statement came through? You would think there would be adamant denials, that of course that wouldn't have happened. But none of the people I talked to (including the Head of sales) ever denied that was possible. The closest I got to an explanation or an apology was being told that they were "sorry I find the renewal process confusing". Mind, you, my confusion stems from the fact that no one informed me ahead of time that my current plan wasn't going to be honored moving forward and that my rate was going to increase by a third. Management seemed to bare no responsibility for their lack of transparency and lack of communication. All three people acted like it was my fault for having been sold a membership I wasn't entitled to. They also never took responsibility for an employee selling me this membership. Instead I was told it was done by a "Rogue employee", so not their fault. Except they hired that employee. They trained that employee. And someone had to give that employee the ability to offer members that rate. Of all the employees I have met at Hot 8 Southbay, I don't believe any of them would take it on themselves to defraud the company this way. In short, management passed the buck and pointed the finger. Hardly a great community building exercise. Also, I should add, this is not an isolated instance. I know I'm not the only one who was never informed about their founding membership no longer being honored, or the increase in rate, as it also happened to my girlfriend. read more

I absolutely love this facility! While all Hot 8 is a retreat oasis for me, El Segundo is my particular favorite. The staff is incredibly kind and compassionate and aware of my unique medical needs. The facility is sparkling, clean, and beautiful and I really feel like the staff cares about my well-being. I can't believe I'm just now writing a review about this place. Let me give a little background history. I started off in the Santa Monica location, about 6 years ago (I think). I would go once a week so I did a package of 10 on and off. I noticed they were opening locations in the Los Angeles area. I saw an opening in El Segundo which is relatively close to me. So I signed up!!!! I have been a member since they opened the El Segundo location. Even though I've been going for quite a bit I feel most comfortable with Hot power fusion (great for beginners). I usually take Lizzy /Talita/ Teresa class they are amazing and really push me to my limit. I've also taken other teachers who are all great! I really enjoy the cleanliness, friendliness of staff, and the amazing workout you get. read more

This place was fine for a yoga class and I loved how hot it got. The only thing I didnt like was that it smelled when I first went into the room. But they can fix that with a better smelling deal to make it smell better. they gotta fix that. Ok the reason I am writing this review is because their management seems a little wierd. I had a horrible slip and fall accident a year ago at another yoga studio. I ended up sueing that studio, yet it was a complete disaster because I left the scene instead of getting witnesses and taking pictures but I was so hurt I just wanted to go home. I noticed that when I walked out of this studio..there were puddles of sweat everywhere on the hard surfaces of the floor. Lots and lots of puddles...with no mats anywhere. Disaster waiting to happen. Someone is going to slip. Some old lady that cant see well. im in good shape..im in my 40s and my eye sight is good. Im in great shape. It was remarkable that I slipped like that but that other studio was very irresponsible and they were trying to make money so they packed the people in like sardines and made the studio unbearably hot. I think its bs that I told the girls up at the front this and asked them to tell the manager. And you want to know what they said "they wont care". The manager wont check the emails and nothing will change. I was like...well can you please give them my number and email and then I'll just warn them about this before someone gets hurt. They gave me an email to a non-working email. Jesus. Wow. So my complaint I guess didnt even get voiced and it didnt matter what I said. "It's very corporate here. You cant really get through to someone". Ok so I am writing this review in hopes someone from management will read this and they will mat the floors in the El Segundo place...all up and down that large hall. Before someone has to go through the pain and suffering I did. So sad that I had to do this instead of just being able to talk to a manager when I called. The number that dosnt work and gets no one on the phone when you call. Jesus. What a shit show. I was trying to help this company out by saying that. Trust me..you dont was someone slipping on all that sweat. Im trying to make sure someone dosnt go through the pain that I did. To management: Fix all these problems I listed above. Mat your floors. The girl said..."well I go over and put towels down when they get out". No you didnt. I didnt walk on towels when I walked out. I had to jump over sweat and hope I didn't slip. The other place I fell at had to change their policies because they were not putting mats down outside or inside and I slipped on the biggest puddle of water inside the studio. And get a Working Phone with someone that answers! hello! why is it so hard to get a hold of someone from management when you have a complaint. stop making yourself so corporate then that the front staff knows "nothing will be done if someone trys to say something to management". Looove this place! We decided to try out the one week trial and have loved every single day of it! I'm a beginner so some of the classes are a bit difficult for me, but there are always different poses that the instructor will inform you about. My favorite class is Yin, which is just so relaxing and allows me to walk out feeling stretched and renewed. It is so clean and well kept! The South Bay hot 8 location is the closest to my home only being about a 10 minute, I've had bad experiences to the point where i drive 30 minutes away to the Culver City location (which is amazing btw!). The workers are rude and unwelcoming. It's clear to me that their only goal is to make sales instead of being genuine/ helpful regardless your decision is to stay at hot 8 or not. I tried their welcome week, and honestly wasn't going to buy a membership due to the bad experiences I had at South Bay. However, I went to the Culver City location and immediately change my mind! As you can tell Culver City is the location i go to, rather than the South Bay one. Which kinda sucks since it's a farther drive but worth it! I am Latina, and felt some racist experiences. I do feel singled out due to the color of skin, and since many who attend this student are white. There's not many poc i see. The instructor's are okay, I've had some that are great from this location and some that are meh. Overall this studio needs to have a huge improvement in terms of customer service and overall diversity. I will continue my journey at the Culver City hot 8 location, as they have been so welcoming and helpful. South Bay you should take notes from Culver City hot 8! read more

She is the most helpful, caring manager and I have never received such great service at the other locations! I am a founding member and I have practiced at other locations. This studio and the staff are beyond great! They keep the studio very clean and I feel so safe here! The teachers are amazing- favorites - Kelly D for Sculpt and Power, Emy D for Sculpt, Taina for Barre, Talita and Lizzy for HPF, Sabrina for power! Not my favorite, but all based on personal preference. Pros Clean facility Plenty of parking Easy check in process Cold face towels to bring into class Cubbies for personal belongings Locker rooms Cons Overcrowded classes - didn't really seem like there was a capacity. This significantly impacted the class experience. In the barre class, there wasn't enough space once we moved mid class. In the yoga class, we weren't able to actually move into certain postures due to lack of space. Space in general - people got there early, would reserve space for themselves and their friends & then leave the room until class started. Can be a bit frustrating that this is not discouraged by the business. Variation in classes - the experience in the class really depended on the instructor. I get that different people have different styles, but it shouldn't feel like I'm taking a completely different class. Instructors - one instructor specifically seemed to really teach with her ego. I tried the barre & the sculpt, and both times, more than 80% of the class had stopped following along - sitting, walking out, staying in child's pose. To me, that's not a sign of success, but a sign of failure for the teacher. You should be wanting your class to feel empowered and able, not discouraged and frustrated. The energy level of the groups in both classes was pretty low compared to the other instructors I tried. I did the beginners week and won't be joining. Nice to leave drenched in sweat, but it was because of the 115 degree rooms with high humidity. Not for me! read more

Such a beautiful practice Hot 8 provides. I love that there's a variety of class styles to choose from because let's be honest, doing the same workout can get boring. Overall studio is very nice and teachers are amazing. I always got a good work out in. Kristin became my fav teacher and she had an amazing energy. The reason I am giving it 2 stars is because I was outside the room, putting my stuff away before going into class. I think she was the manager, pointed me out and just asked me if I had signed in. Which I had already done, with the girls in the front desk. I can't help but think that she singled me out because I don't look like the typical customer. Overall I felt really uncomfortable, as no one else in the hall putting their stuff away was asked the same question. I decided to cancel my membership after my 2 month contract was over. As a studio that speaks on inclusivity I just didn't feel that. read more

I LOVE this studio. It is clean, the instructors are impressive, and you get a healthy, lovely workout. I haven't been very impressed with substitute teachers, but I understand what it's like to have to use a substitute. I highly recommend checking this studio out. If you're a beginner to hot classes or to yoga - please give this at least 5 classes before deciding if you like it or not. My first time at this hot yoga studio. Power fusion. It's casual, but classy. The team makes you feel welcomed right from the first hello. First timers get a free matt and towels. Class is divided into three 20-minute sections - stretching, power flow, and on the ground flow. Time flies by! Teacher gives clear instruction and it's easy to follow. Room is a little too warm for my liking, but it is hot power yoga after all. Showers, lockers, and lotion available after class. read more
