I am beyond thankful that I found this studio! I've practiced yoga on and off over the years, but over the last several months, this studio has inspired me to practice more consistently than at any other point in my life. I could shout out every instructor individually because they each bring something special to the studio. They are all warm and welcoming, attuned to each yogi in the room, and incredibly knowledgeable about yoga anatomy and philosophy. Tracy provides a sound bath at the end of all of her classes and strikes a beautiful balance between challenging you while encouraging you to listen to your body. Tanya has such a compassionate and caring presence and is wonderful at helping you find modifications that make each pose work for you. Simone's classes are thoughtfully sequenced to help you build mobility in different areas, and she does a great job explaining where you should feel each pose in your body. And I could keep going! I also love the additional offerings that help foster such a strong sense of community, like the Sunday night book club and the various workshops. Compared to other studios I've been to, I really appreciate the balance this studio strikes between giving you a great physical workout (like incorporating core work into most vinyasa flow classes) while still honoring the spirituality of the practice. You're encouraged to connect with the more spiritual aspects of yoga without it ever feeling too "woo woo." It is also really easy to find parking which makes going to the studio a stress-free experience. This studio has already become such a meaningful part of my life, and I'm so grateful to have found it. I genuinely miss being there on the days when work or life gets in the way of going. I've been going to Harmony Yoga for years and absolutely love it. If you're looking for a traditional vinyasa flow studio with smart, thoughtful sequencing, this is the place. I always leave feeling like I got a great workout while also feeling more balanced mentally and physically. I've taken tons of classes here, both 60- and 75-minute, and honestly haven't had a teacher I didn't like. Najla, Tanya, Tracy (love her sound bowls!), Jorge, Keren, Simone, you really can't go wrong. Every teacher brings something a little different while still staying true to the style of the studio. I also practiced here throughout my pregnancy and always felt welcome and supported. The instructors were great about giving me modifications without making me feel like I couldn't fully participate in class. This place charges $30 per class! I remember back in the day when classes used to be $10. Classes are not helpful and can be a bit boring. I remember one class I attended where they turned up the heat so much that I was sweating to the point where I could not stay in down dog because it was too slippery. I overheated and was so dehydrated that I decided to leave early because it was so annoyingly stressful. I would not recommend this place. They don't care about anything other than money. read more

I had an "interesting" experience at a hot yoga studio years ago and was apprehensive about trying again. But after doing the same old traditional gym classes and feeling stiff, a friend recommended I give Harmony Yoga a try. At the time, there was an offer to try a few classes for free, so my husband and I gave it a go. Since we weren't familiar with the forms, we took the "Yoga Fundamentals" class. Wow, what a difference! The amazing instructor, Simone, explained every movement in detail and walked us through a multitude of variations based on our level. She was very encouraging and made sure we did just enough to push ourselves safely. The studio and staff are all very warm and positive, there is no competitive vibe and everyone feels welcome. At the end of the class, we realized yoga was exactly what we needed in our routine, not just for fitness, but to feel grounded and reset our minds. Maybe its just me, but I feel like there are stages of the yoga journey... You fall in love with a style of yoga (for me it was Vinyasa) and then after a few years you start to wonder, "What else is out there for me?" I have tried almost every yoga studio in the South Bay, and there are positives and negatives to them all. This studio is no exception, however, having jumped form place to place, I realize I'm definitely a Strong Vin gal, and super happy to have rediscovered Harmony. I'm so grateful that Najla and her beautiful studio exists to provide a respite from the noise of this crazy world. She and her teachers specialize in traditional vinyasa flow, which after years of trying all of the "trends" is exactly what I've needed. After a class at Harmony, I feel stronger and more aligned mentally and physically. My two favorite teachers are Jamie and Najla. I've been practicing with Jamie for YEARS and am still obsessed. Athena is absolutely lovely as well. I look forward to her 6 ams. Last thing I'll say. You'd never know that Najla teaches as much as she does. She treats every class like its her only class of the week. You get the feeling that she really cares about her studio and the community. I have never stepped foot in this studio, but I am a regular at Athena's Monday morning class! Yes, I'm a livestreamer. I've livestreamed from many different studios in the past two years, and the set-up here is among the best. The video quality is terrific, and they usually place a demo person centered in the camera view so the instructor is free from demo'ing, and can walk around the room and help the in-studio yogis. The sound quality is largely good enough, however the in-studio music comes through the stream but doesn't survive the trip so well, occasionally interfering with the clarity of the instructor's voice. Other than that they are free of technical glitches and always get started on time! Oh and the instruction and sequencing in Athena's class is top notch! In closing herewith, I give you: THE TOP 10 REASONS WHY LIVESTREAM CLASSES ARE BETTER THAN IN-STUDIO CLASSES!!! 10. No chance of catching a virus, for starters ;) 9. Temperature in the room is exactly the level you want 8. You can have your fan handy and turn it on yourself if you start to drip sweat during a really heat-building flow sequence 7. Bad hair day? Just keep your camera turned off! 6. Forgot your water bottle? Just go to the kitchen and get it 5. Forgot a hand towel? Just go to the linen closet and get one 4. Endless array of savasana props ... soft squishy bed pillows, cozy blankets, even your favorite bathrobe 3. Zero commute time, & no hunting for a parking spot 2. I tried a yoga class last week using Class Pass and I must say this is the kind of studio I'm looking for. I think they only have 1 room for yoga, but it's a big one so they can accommodate a lot of people. It the kind of neighborhood yoga place where everyone knows each other and yogis who go to class have been regular for years. I took a vinyasa class on Saturday morning and it was really good! It's the right amount of intensity and calm. The music they played was also great, upbeat yet conducive to yoga. I walked here from my apartment so location is perfect. The only issue might be the amount of people that sign up for each class. I don't know if they cap registrants, but in my class there were probably 30+ people. I will just need to look for class times that are not so packed for optimal tranquility of my yoga practice. read more

If I could add more stars I would in a heartbeat. I've only been at it for a month (my bestie and I decided to jump in with the generous (inexpensive!) unlimited yoga month to see if we could do it). I was so nervous at first - I haven't worked out in...eeks...18+ years as a commitment...and I was really nervous about injuring myself. I've had a couple of major low back surgeries and multiple knee injuries and just didn't know what to expect. I can't begin to tell you how much Najla and her team of teachers and support staff have truly exceeded my expectations - and made me feel not only safe, but getting stronger every class. It's a safe, embracing, nurturing, positive space where I really feel I can find strength in my body again. This is a really nice studio with some really great teachers. The classes that we have taken range from beginner to more intermediate. For people who don't think that yoga is a workout, they should try some classes here. I like how the teachers base the practice on the people in the room. When they see a more advanced group they extend that practice, when they see beginners or people who needs to see the movement (myself) they show upfront and lead. I love the little area that you come into, it is very inviting and welcoming. The one thing I didn't know since I'm a beginner, bring your own mat! read more

This place is great to try . The facility itself is a tad older but very clean . My only advice would be to perhaps empty out the entry a tad so that it is less cluttered and more open and airy . Seemed like they aren't optimizing the entry space with that giant couch. The classes get packed so be early. They have dedicated members which usually means the teachers are good. The weekend class I took was great more akin to gentle yoga so I'll try a different class next round . Oddly not a lot of yoga options in this area so a solid find . The dropin rate is steep so if you think you will attend at least two classes just do the intro rate . read more

I really can't say how much I LOVE Harmony Yoga. I've wanted to join a yoga studio for countless years but either timing was off, distance was wrong, or season of life didn't allow for it. And funny enough, the craziness of these recent months allowed me to try Harmony from the confines of my home. I thought doing live-stream classes as an intro into a new yoga studio would sort of be a downer. The opposite happened. I think having to live-stream from home proved just how awesome the instructors at Harmony are! Their instructions and descriptions of what I am trying to achieve in each yoga pose/stretch/motion has been a game changer in my enjoyment of yoga. Even without getting to be in the studio yet, I've experienced the level of awesome the instructors provide. Truth be told, I haven't taken a class from all of the instructors, but the ones I have, they rock! I'm just over 20 classes in and am beyond hooked. If you've ever wanted to try yoga, do it! My friend, Tony has recommended me to Harmony Yoga. It's been 4 months or so since I've been taking classes at Harmony Yoga, and every time I walk out of the class, I'm just so impressed with instructors. EVERY one of them has been so caring and helpful. I've picked up so many small details on each poses and I'm continuing to learn more every single time. These instructors are incredibly knowledgeable and ego-free. I'm so thankful that they take time to come adjusting my alignments and talk to me after class. From the day one, I noticed... they all talk about the owner, Najla. They all look up to her. Najla's class can be packed on a weekend morning, but we all manage to make a room for each other and practice right next to each other, which I really don't mind at all. These instructors are truly professional and know how to push us further if we want. I know how much I can push myself mentally and physically because of them. I also can feel my progress in holding poses already. For me, breathing and spiritual aspect of yoga are crucial. These instructors all address that repeatedly. I am a new face to the yoga world. I loosely took classes through college after suffering from a compound fracture leg injury, but never delved in due to being insecure in classes that were my speed, however, offered little to no instruction. Harmony Yoga, specifically Julie and Jamie, make you feel completely at home and comfortable in any class. I take Vinyasa and although I'm not "experienced" the instructors are patient and trusting with me. Julie's class always has the best playlist that blares during flow - making you virtually step into your own little world for an hour and fifteen minutes. These classes have made me stronger and have virtually eliminated all pains/strains I had from my accident in college. read more

I recently gave up Kundalini yoga, because I am deep into a Buddhist tradition and didn't want to blend philosophies, so I was looking for a place to practice real yoga, based on both the mental and physical aspects (i.e., not gym yoga), but also not too heavy on the dogma. Simone, Marla, Catherine and Renee are fabulous teachers! Thank you all. Najla and Chappy, not so much! For starters, their energy is bad and I always had an 'off' feeling about them when I first started practicing. They are not caring or welcoming at all. I have learnt they are more interested in making money than being authentic or genuine people. I would NOT trust these people! To be frank, Najla is a pathological liar - but it would take you years to realize because she does it so effectively. I warn people against going to their classes or being involved with them in any way. I wouldn't want what happened to me and three of my friends to happen to others. (Read 'Michelle Z.' comment for further info). Najla is more interested in what her students can give her than giving back to others and being a 'yogi.' Chappy is just plain rude and a chauvinistic show off. I went to one of his classes and never went back. I want my teachers to care about my progress and not ridicule me in front of the whole class if I can't keep up - this is NOT YOGA! For consistent, high-quality and caring teaching, go to Yoga Works or Lyfe. read more

I have a friend who LOVES Simone's beginning yoga classes (she also teaches flow yoga), so she comes here all the time. Since her birthday is this week, I wanted to surprise her by getting a package of classes for her. Thanks to Rebecca, I was able to do just that! I called and Rebecca brightly answered the phone. I explained to her that my friend comes here for yoga and I wanted to see if I could buy her a series as a birthday gift. Rebecca looked her up in their system, and then said "Oh! I know her - she does yoga in the mornings, and sometimes on the weekend." She made it super easy for me to buy a series of 10 classes for her ($159) and promised she'd write a happy birthday note on it and make sure she got it the next time she came in. Fast forward to my friend's exact birthday.....said friend calls me, and says that Simone greeted her that morning with a gift certificate and a happy birthday message from me, and totally made her morning! Yaaaay!! In the words of my Simone-loving friend: "She always asks at the beginning of class if anyone has anything going on in their bodies, and then she incorporates those focuses into that day's practice. She explains thoroughly and gently." Over the past months since she's been taking her class, my friend has also told me that Simone has helped her with specific stretches post-practice to help a sciatica thing that is her achilles heel. I've never personally met Simone, but if my friend loves her this much, I naturally love her too! I came here with a friend to Chappy's wed. night advanced yoga practice. This class totally makes you work! It's a mixture of power flow with fast twitch movements that's great for a yoga/cardio workout. He blasts his tunage on the loud side, so if you haven't been to his class before and aren't used to his style, you might have to peek at some regulars to hear what pose is coming up next. The class is lowly lit, cozy and heats up rather quickly. I'd recommend bringing a yoga towel, sweat rag, and some water. Harmony isn't a donation based establishment, yet works on per class rates in addition to package discounts. If you're looking for someone to challenge your practice or need a change of scenery from the same weekly practice, I recommend giving this place a shot. read more

I've never worked in such a beautiful environment as Harmony Yoga! Everyone who steps foot into that place seems to be filled with love and gratitude to be there. The entire staff is caring and passionate as each one aids in helping each student/staff member to feel at home. I find myself going to work early, and leaving late. The vibe that Harmony embodies is timeless, and the classes are incredibly and beautifully unique. It's a shame that some people feel the need to talk down on others to somehow make themselves feel better. All the more reason to practice yoga! Might I add that Chappy and Najla have shown nothing other than pure love from the deepest part of their being, which is why they've become like family to me and countless others.
