Amazing store and amazing service! Not only is their inventory beautiful and affordable, but the owner of the shop worked with me across multiple days (and timezones after I left San Fran for my home state!) to locate and reunite me with a beloved keepsake that I accidentally left in the store after trying a few things on. Om shanti...shanti ohm... Oh how I love this place. Nothing is muted here except for the woman at the front. She was very peaceful surrounded by all the vibrant colours of cotton, silk and wool thats seem to cushion each customers step inwards. I played with some of their tibetan singing bowls and I ended up buying one for $285. Yes it was an 18th century antique and well worth it! The tibetan lady showed me how to use it and chanted some prayers. I felt like my chakras and aura were cleansed. As I bounced around the store, I sifted through blankets, shirts, prayer flags, and other tibetan paraphernalia. I can't say for sure whether this is all fair trade, but i would be dismayed if it wasn't. I plan a trip to tibet sometime in the future and I would definitely come back here for some info. I discovered this shop while shopping on Haight. It is a clean and well lighted enviroment. Very nice to browse in and has a lot of real authentic hand made Tibetan jewelry and clothing. They also have some real nice singing bowls that are used for Tibetan meditation. They are very relaxing to use and they sound really soothing. What to say about Dolma and her store? Not only does she have incredible jewelry, she is very accommodating. The entire time I was there she did whatever she could to make sure sure I was satisfied with my decision. It was also nice seeing her use psychology with regard to the piece I was looking for. Sure, it doesn't look like much from the outside, but it's a find for unique & super affordable jewelry pieces. You have to scour through the selection to find a piece that grabs you, but there's bound to be something to strike your fancy. I got some amazing wood carved rings for $8 a piece that would easily go for $30+ in a boutique in L.A. There are plenty of containers chock full of rings, bracelets, pendants & all sorts of things to sift through. I walked in there just browsing really. I ended up buying a really pretty moonstone pendant and chain to put it on. They have tons of jewelry in there. Mostly silver with stones and some really beautiful ones at that. Many of the pendants are unusual in style, based on the original shape of the stones. Lots of agates and tigers eye, quartz in different colors. Some really pretty pieces. All kinds of stones, earrings, and scarves too. All at really good prices. read more

This store rules! I've bought many necklaces from here over the years and I always love going here on my visits to SF. Dolma, who runs the store is an amazing spiritual person, she's been praying for Haiti for days now repeating the Om Mani Padma Hum prayer over and over thousands of times. She is incredible and the jewelry is fantastic here. My necklace pendants from here get tons of compliments and the stones feel great. Many necklace pendants here have the stones open on the backside so the stones rest directly on your skin and that's super important to me when buying jewelry with stones or crystals. Her family in Nepal handcraft a lot of the large pieces she carries. Long live Tibet! read more

almost every single one of my fingers wear the rings I buy here. Rings are my favorite thing here. Most recent ring I got was a garnet ring for my pinkie. I have gotten pendants and earrings from here too, but by far, my favorites are the rings!! Aside from this place, I check out the farmer's market at the Civic Center on Thursdays, they have the same style of rings and for a good price, you should check that place out as well. read more

I love this shop which tends to make it difficult leaving here without a new bauble on my person. She gets gorgeous Labradorite (my one true addiction) and various other feldspar, turquoise, lapis, and other lovely semi-precious stones. Every piece I have ever looked at was set in silver (love) and made beautifully. She was even nice enough to cut me a deal because I misread the price tag and couldn't afford the piece she gave me a deal stating that she felt I was meant to have it. Tibet Styles has changed. Ugyen Dolma has deferred to her niece, Lhakyi and the wonderful shop is now known as Tibet Starz which is still located at 1707 Haight Street. Lhakyi is quite talented and makes wonderful jewelry. Dolma still works in the shop but now has time to spread joy up and down Haight Street. The Haight thrives on tourists seeking to partake of that special time "The summer of love." With so many pricey shops to choose from, I can heartily recommend that you visit Tibet Starz, where you will find authentic Tibetan goods: Incense, Singing Bowls and more. The clothing is first rate but not overly priced. Every time I travel to San Francisco, visiting Tibet Starz is a highlight. Go and see for yourself, you won't be disappointed. read more

Ilove this place, some of the most beautiful semi precious stones and settings I have ever seen. Mrs. Dolma is the nicest, most spiritual person you will ever encounter, before I spoke a word to her she knew my sign, the types of stones I would like and willing to have a lengthy conversation about any topic that came to mind. There's many "Tibetan" stores in SF to choose from. A lot of them are really Chinese owned- unlike this store. Owned & ran by Dolma & her husband (fled Tibet many years ago) 7 days a week. This place is the real deal! They give 50% of all their profits to the International Campaign for Tibet (a very good non-profit), which is why they work 7 days a week to pay rent & give to charity. They are also very kind & the epitome of great shop owners that we never experience anymore. The Tibetan items range from jewelry, scarves, blouses, scrolls & various Tibetan practitioner items (singing bowls, bells, etc..). Their prices are the best in town too! I've been shopping here for over 7 years. Anytime I'm in the Haight area, I try to stop in. All jewelry is sterling silver & all stones are real Tibetan precious stones. I've got quite a few pieces of jewelry from here & some mantra scrolls. Dolma blessed me w/a beautiful silk handmade scarf one time too! read more

My mother in law was visiting and popped in here solo when we were shopping in the Haight. The next day I saw her purchase - a seashell necklace with the price tag of $149. Upon closer inspection, the chain wasn't sterling and one of the shells was cracked too!
