If I write this review in comparison to cafeterias throughout my educational experience, it is probably one of the better ones. Although smaller than most, they have decent options, the line goes fairly quickly, there is delicious soft serve ice cream (although they might make you pay extra), the room usually has space to sit but still is full of people, you're always going to find someone you know (could be good or bad), and they have a separate little bar for coffee that's great. They also serve beer. And you can use your meal credits to get it. So yeah, that's awesome.
But you're going to school in Italy. There is absolutely no point in spending money on meals here when there are pizza shops and gelato places minutes away from campus. So many kids ended up having a bunch of extra credit left over at the of the semester, so they just starting buying beer (guess that's not too much of a problem). You do, however, get an automatic three free meals on your id card- so use those. Definitely worth it. Also, you get free food and ice cream during orientation.
Side note, the coffee is great for when you need to rush to campus but still need a boost because you stayed up late the night before embracing Rome but forgetting you're still in school. Utilize it. read more
