Second night to eat dinner here. But I have to tell you a funny story. When we entered, we asked for a table for two. The lady tried to put us at a table for two right by the front entrance. I asked her, "I'd like a table in the back please?" She turned and looked at me with the Evil Eye. Like the mother-in-law who can't stand you but puts up with you. She acquiesced and put us at a table in the back. Ordered spring rolls (2 per order) and pork shu mai (4 pieces) as appetizers. Spring rolls were vegetarian, nice and crispy with a decent amount of cabbage filling. Shu mai were good considering they tasted like the frozen variety. You need some soy sauce and chili oil for dipping. I couldn't find a shrimp dish I liked so I just went for shrimp fried rice instead of white rice. Caution, there were three whole shrimp cut in half in the dish so don't expect much shrimp in your fried rice. For dinner, I stayed with the Hot and Sour Pork and Sauteed Bean Sprouts for a veggie side dish. We tried their Rice Noodles with Beef, similar to Beef Chow Fun, but with thinner rice noodles. Again, three pieces of flank steak beef in the entire dish. Not too bad. It was tasty and not too greasy. We finished with a Lemon Sorbet. A premade frozen lemon filled with lemon sorbet capped by the lemon top. We could see the server take it from a plastic bag out of the freezer. A unique looking dessert...i liked it frozen. It was refreshing. So I return to the seating. I don't like to sit near the front door. I'm a bit superstitious and like to sit somewhere where I can watch the front door and see who walks in. This time, I got a healthy dose of side eye with my Chinese food! read more

We needed a break from Italian food and saw this restaurant near our hotel. We came here for lunch and we were seated right away. They had a good variety of options with a mix of Chinese and Italian food. We got the hot and sour soup, fried rice, and pork. It was all surprisingly really good. The portions were decent and it was full of flavor. The food takes awhile to come out. We sat and ordered before a few tables and they got multiple food items before we got ours. Once they started coming out with our food, the items came out back to back which was nice. The restaurant is small/medium sized so we did see the restaurant get filled up pretty quickly. We were surprised and glad to find some good Chinese restaurants while traveling. Would definitely recommend this spot, though it does get packed quickly as it seems quite popular. The Thai rice noodles was my favorite dish - the Chinese name seems to suggest it is a beef chow fun but it is actually the thinner noodle and the dish is a cross between beef chow fun and pad thai. The fried rice cake was good but slightly bland. We also had the bamboo and bean sprouts which were good. Keep in mind that the soups are single portion sizes. The restaurant has a casual ambiance and can get really packed. Some people had to combine and share tables to get seating but the food was great! read more

We didn't make reservations but got seated right away as it was pretty busy for dinner. Staff were all friendly and kind. Food came out relatively quick which is appreciated. Priced very well to match the portions and they do charge coverage fee about $2/person. Beef noodle soup was delicious and broth was fantastic. The garlic cabbage stir fry wasn't bad for veggies. Usually whenever my wife and I travel, we have a small tradition of trying the Chinese food wherever we are. Some would think that tradition sounds weird, but after eating at Tien Tsin I'm convinced that it isn't going anywhere because the food was AMAZING! I ended up ordering miso soup, the Crispy chicken with Cantonese fried rice while my wife got the sweet chili chicken with pineapple fried rice. We also ordered the fried potatoes, which we thought was something special but it ended up just being French fries lol. Everything was delicious, came out hot and fresh, and was a considerable portion size. The service was also great. The waiters were friendly, attentive, and patient with us as it took time to decide what we were getting. Finally the ambiance of the restaurant was beautiful, definitely an ideal spot for a family dinner or an intimate date. Maybe I should have gotten the noodles but anyway, firstly they got my order wrong - it's fine maybe it was a language barrier issue. Got wonton soup - it tastes like it's wonton in hot water. From the moment we walked in, the staff was rude and unwelcoming. There was no greeting, no courtesy, only hostility that felt discriminatory as other guests were treated with more respect. The food was mediocre at best and nowhere near worth tolerating such terrible service. From the first taste of the beef noodle soup, I was taken back to the US. It was very savory and the beef pieces were well seasoned. It was simply delizioso! I had a really disappointing experience at this restaurant. As soon as I reached for a menu, one of the staff members slapped my hand and told me I couldn't have one, which was both confusing and rude. The service overall was incredibly unwelcoming. one of the waiters even shoved me when I was entering. The staff's attitude really ruined the ambiance of the place, making it feel uncomfortable and unpleasant. We decided to try Tien Tsin for dinner after having an Italian lunch. Service was good. Kind and friendly wait staff. We ordered soft pan fried pork dumplings, ma po tofu, bok choy with garlic, and shrimp with noodles. The food was delicious. Maybe a little stingy on the shrimp. Only 6 small (could almost be tiny) shrimps. Ma po tofu spiced just right. The ambience is very calm and relaxing except for the tour group that kept complaining about the food portions. read more

While in Rome we actually had dinner here twice and both times the place was very busy, but food came out quick and service was great. Again my wife was craving Asian food after nonstop pasta, pizza, cicchetti, ect... I had my doubts on Tien Tsing near Trevi district but was pleasantly surprised. Greeted by the owner's wife who was going 100 mph answering the phone, taking orders, greeting patron; we were luckily sat w/in 15 minutes bc a reservation was late and arrived after we sat. Ordered fried rice, beef chow fun, chicken, peking duck, noodles in beef broth, and a few others I forget. Everything was delicious with what I can an Italian flare. Chow fun noodles seemed like more of an Italian pasta, rice was lite & fluffy probably d/t supply chain as Italy in general doesn't have a strong concentration of Asians. Nonetheless Tien Tsing knocked it out of the park and everything was delicious. PRO TIP: Be ready to order. Luckily we are Chinese and order the "usuals". Many reviewers mention how impatient they can be. My suggestion is not to come to Italy with American expectations. read more

They approached a table that arrived earlier then us but we were ready to order before they did. The server chose to go to their table instead. Ok the taste of the foods are just fine. Be aware that you order rice separately! But the service is horrendous, i wouldn't go back even if it were cheaper. Clearly a mistake made on the server's part. Instead of simply apologizing and correcting the order, she said, "well you can eat these two soups." and was about to walk away. We said, no we want the wonton. And asked for them to make/ bring us what we wanted to order. She replied, "ok, you want me to add wonton to order?" And started adding it to our tab. We told her to take back the second hot & sour.. since we didn't want it (and were afraid she would try to charge us for it.. which she did on the tab, later... wtf) And she started raising her voice, telling us that it's "against restaurant rules to take back food so customer has to eat it" .... She just didn't want to waste a soup, but also wanted to charge us extra if we were to take it. Then tried to pay at the end and she swiped our card three times... (which was already sus) then said it declined & asked for cash. We just wanted to get out, so gave her cash. When we looked at the tab, she had charged us for three soups. We disputed it, and she handed us back the cash (a few euros less than full amount) and said she'd try our card again. Fried rice, fried noodles and noodle soup are all on their menu, they came with decent portion. Fried rice with pork was very similar to the one with seafood, fried noodles was little better than beef noodle soup. The service was fast and courteous, environment was casual. We needed some authentic Chinese food and this restaurant fit the bill 100%. For 4, we ordered 3 soups: hot & sour, wonton, tomato egg drop, Peking duck, beef dish, 2 fried rice, baby bok choy, and one tea for $60 euro. The seafood fried rice was better than the pineapple one which was bland. Peking duck is not authentic tho for Rome, it's not bad. All other items were very authentic so highly recommend. read more

We were in Italy 6 weeks and I had ate as much bread and pasta as i could, I love Italian food as much as the next person, but I needed a break. I will tell you that the food is not only exceptionally good, but I was surprised by the prices. I'm always very picky when it comes to my sushi so I did try a small order first just to see if I would like it. I wasn't disappointed, in fact, we've been back the last 3 nights in a row. My wife eats a shrimp plate and I also eat the Chicken and mushroom plate. It is out of this world. A husband and wife team runs this place and they are total pros. Staff is incredible.
