This most recent semester, beginning in January 2012, the quality has taken a major decline. Gone are the days where you could serve yourself reasonable portions, or where the serving staff was allowed to serve you extra portions if you were friendly. Now they are all required to serve the students small portions of food, all while being closely watched by the manager. The food itself has gotten worse. It's hard to explain why unless you experience it for yourself, but the food just tastes different. It's also not as appealing as the selections they've offered in the past. Not the mention the prices have been raised on all the food (including the bar) by an average of one euro. Sure it doesn't sound like a huge increase, but when paired by the changes in quality, it leaves me no choice but to take away two stars. Get back in shape, Tiber Cafe! John Cabot students miss the old you.

The food hits the spot and their coffee tastes better than the kind you'd get back in the states. It IS busy though so keep that in mind. Pretty loud inside too given the number of customers there.

I just needed something pre-dinner to help keep me awake! They had a few tables outside. Since the weather was nice, I opted for a seat outside.

Alessio couldn't have been nicer or more accommodating. With lack of knowledge of the language and customs regarding restaurant etiquette, the Italians are often annoyed with the Americans. Not here.
