Time to head home
My…read morewife and I had a wonderful time touring Italy, but now it was time to head home. We were at the Fiumicino Airport, terminal 3, waiting for our flight. It was early, coffee and a little snack was needed, and Moka Cafe was there for us. You order and pick up your stuff at the counter but there were also some seats just across where we were able to sit and consume before our long trip back to the US.
Ordering was explained very well in another review, order at the register, get your pastry and a piece of paper, and take that paper to the counter on your left. Someone will look at it and get you your coffee, in my case cappuccino. I even liked the explanation about aggressive line cutting because that was exactly what happened to me. I was successful in regaining my spot, only to be left far behind when a second register opened up. I'm such a rookie.
My bakery item of choice was a chocolate cornetti, a light pastry like a croissant with not only chocolate drizzle on top but also a chocolate filling. For me that is like taking a good idea and making it better. Too sweet for my wife, so I enjoyed one and a half. My very foamy coffee was fine. Goodbye Rome and thanks for the memories.
