Just down the street from Piazza Navona, has a fresh feel to a traditional restaurant. Has a range of standard fare, but also a couple of different dishes with an Abruzzese influence. If you are setting bored with basic spaghetti & are longing for something with a bit more pepper or spice or chilli, it's definitely worth checking out. Prices are similar if not slightly lower than on the Piazza, and there wasn't a tv running in the background that I could see (that's a plus). They will do chips & ham pizza if you have whiny kids like I do. The super bonus - lots of pasta dishes available senza glutini - gluten free! My partner is a diagnosed coeliac, and usually ends up having the salad. This time though it was a spicy salmon pasta dish. There's even a sign out front advertising take-home gf produce. Anyone who has experienced the trauma of dining out with special dietary requirements in a non-english speaking environment will welcome a visit to Zafferino. read more
