Later on, she was offered a second drink, but I was never asked if I wanted another. At the end, a server who I'd never seen came over to check us out. I think because he spoke English. When it was time to pay, he asked how much we wanted to pay. This was his way to ask for a tip, which is not typical in Italy, but since they profiled us as Americans immediately, i understand the attempt. My sister named the check amount and he processed it. After that, he said, "you know that that cost does not include a service charge?" She was taken aback and asked "oh, is there a service charge to eat here?" because sometimes there are service charges to eat at Italian cafes, but they are usually included in the bill. He laughed and said yes but walked away. This might be a tourist scam, as other reviews noted similar experiences, and the business stated tips are not mandatory. For locals, it's a great deal to enjoy a few drinks (around €8.50 each) and hang out with friends. While we were there it did appear to be the norm to camp out for a while.

The boss was a really friendly man and the food was yummy and filling! I especially loved the carpaccio with truffle sauce - the plate was huge, meat was fresh and the truffle sauce was plentiful! Its on the same street as the Church of Santa Cecelia approximately 100 feet away. The plate costs $9 Euros per person. You get one full plate of all and any of your choices from the buffet counter. The restaurant offers a variety of authentic Italian items to choose from. You do not get to go back for seconds, so make sure you fill your plate. I think that the plate of food each of us had was a great value for the price we paid. Their drinks, coffee, and desserts are all reasonably priced. Good, hot, food. Excellent desserts...gelatto etc. Just so nice to eat here. Wife speaks chinese so able to communicate with owner to ask what is included. Otherwise workers only speak limited English. Oh, this is not a b.s. review. We've been suckered so much over the last 9 days by reviews saying they have best food in Italy. This place is good...not best....but really good and better than some in states. Oh and no pasta. Finally it is next to Auchan which is great for shopping.
