We went here because after eating pizza and pasta for so many days, we wanted to do eat our last meal in this town American style. The reviews on Trip Advisor looked promising, but it seems like that most of those reviewers either are fake, paid, or just have really low standards. The only good parts of this place are the impressive dessert section and the fact that you can drink as much soda/water you want without having to pay! That was our favorite part. It's true that there are cuisines from at least 8 places, but for some of the countries, they just seemed to have picked the most stereotypical thing and called it a day. For example, for the Mexico section, it was just nachos. That's it. The Chinese/Japanese section were the most impressive, probably to appease the groups of tourists who come here. in fact, the best tasting things were from the Chinese/Japanese section. The lobster was the most appealing part of the buffet. They had one giant bowl of lobster in some kind of sauce and another in a steamer over at the Chinese section. The lobster in the sauce was very sketchy. The lobster itself tasted like it was either rotten or really old. Which is probably why they used such a dark sauce to conceal it. The lobster in the steamer, was hit or miss. Some pieces were okay, others weren't. But overall, all the pieces didn't have meat that came off the shell easily. The saving grace of the food was the dessert section. This section had the best pistachio mousse I've ever tasted. Imagine the essence of pistachio put into a cloud that'll melt in your mouth. In addition to that, they had a wide variety of pastries, gelati, coffee, and much more! The service was pretty subpar too. There were moments where we had plates on our table for about 30 minutes. When we were all done eating, the dude who took our plates away took them very aggressively as if he was mad at us. Not sure what that was about. When we came in to be seated, the hostess looked annoyed that we didn't have a reservation even though there were only 2 other full tables there. Weird. Overall, if you're a tourist wanting a break from restaurants trying to get you with hidden fees and overpriced water, then this place (though pricy) is a somewhat okay alternative.

It is the restaurant of hotel A.Roma and we grabbed breakfast here on our first day because we needed to get an early start to make it on time to an appointment in downtown Rome. Could that have been truffle oil in the breakfast potatoes? Did I pick up a hint of shaved fennel in with the sausage and bacon? Were the cheese omelettes made with ... Gouda? The breakfast buffet is very large, and certainly having a wide variety is a nice thing. What caused us to take notice was the care that was taken with each and every item on their expansive buffet. The potato patties tasted like latkes! Coffee is supposed to come out of pots and urns and not high tech machines, right? Wrong. The coffee, espresso, cappuccino, and European bean extrapolations from their machines were absolutely fresh and delicious. The dinners were even more spectacular with samplings from various parts of the world. Very reasonably priced, this restaurant is a destination in and of itself.

Coming from the San Francisco Bay Area in California, I'd have to give this restaurant relatively high marks on a number of fronts. First off, they speak Cantonese, Mandarin, English and Italian from the best that I could hear." The fact that they spoke Cantonese put me more at ease since I knew they would understand some of the dishes that I was trying to order. I do not speak Chinese but someone in our party did. Secondly, the Beef Chow Fun was pretty good and had "Ho Wok Hay" (which translates to "good taste of the wok"). Wok Hay is a slightly burnt flavor from the wok that gives a dish a high degree of flavor. Not too many restaurants have this and this is a mark of a legit Chinese restaurant. I was very pleasantly surprised to find this in Rome. We also ordered the Chicken in Picante sauce which was very tasty, and roast duck and spareribs in black bean sauce both of which were ok. We also had the house soup at the waitress' suggestion (probably because she knew we appreciated authentic Cantonese cuisine) and Chinese greens. The portions were fair and the prices not too cheap or expensive. I was just glad to get good quality Chinese (Cantonese food in Rome). The restaurant is simple and looked reasonably clean, the staff was friendly but a little hurried as they had a fair amount of takeaway orders.
