The restaurant dining room is pretty dated, but clean. The staff is Midwest, small town friendly. We were seated quickly and immediately our drink orders were taken. Water was on the table quickly. Our server checked on us frequently. Service was great. I had a burger. The $8.90 burger comes on a huge fresh sesame bun with generous helpings of lettuce, tomato, onion and pickles. The burger itself was just ok. The burger also comes with a side and I had coleslaw. The slaw was some of the best slaw that I've had in a long time. I love a good coleslaw. My husband had the breaded pork tenderloin which is prepared in house. The breading was well seasoned and the pork tender. Again the lettuce and tomato toppings were generous. The pork tenderloin gets high marks. The restaurants gets a steady stream of local regulars and traveling truckers coming in for breakfast. The portions are generous and you're not going to leave hungry. Prices are really reasonable. There is plenty of parking and the restaurant is easy on and off the highway.

I have travelled quite a bit throughout the world, had some really awful things and some high end, highly rated meals/places. It is simply decorated, and was reasonably clean. The server staff was friendly and effective, no issues with any of that. They even calmly managed to navigate a power outage that occurred, fortunately right after we got our meals delivered. I got a BPT sandwich and fries, and ordered a side of coleslaw. The slaw was actually pretty well done, crispy, just enough sweet to balance with the tang of vinegar. Where they fell off a bit on execution (or product choice) was the BPT. It was more of a fritter (likely frozen) vs. a pounded actual fresh pork tenderloin cut. It was thin, a bit "bready" throughout (not just coating). The bun was a tad bit stale, but they had toasted it as a good move to counter that. My wife got a turkey ranch wrap with fries. The name could easily be changed to ranch and hint of turkey wrap. The turkey prep is small cubes (may or may not be a Sysco bag of cubes type product), and there was simply too much ranch dressing, the cheese and vegetables were lost in a too wet, undisciplined glop inside of a spongy tortilla. It looks okay, but just doesn't hold up in actual eating. I wish them continued success, but I don't think we would be likely to stop again as we pass through the area.

On my most recent visit, I sat at the bar with a few friends, and Alex and Zach absolutely made the experience. They were attentive, welcoming, and struck the perfect balance between genuine conversation and excellent hospitality. I wasn't sure what I wanted to drink, so Alex recommended the Lavender 75, and I'm so glad he did. It was light, refreshing, perfectly floral, and paired beautifully with dinner. Throughout the evening, both Alex and Zach were constantly checking in, making sure my drink was full and that we had everything we needed. Their service alone is enough to make me come back. As for the food, I order the Pot Roast Sliders every single time because I truly think they're one of the best dishes in Cicero. They're packed with flavor, incredibly tender, and the portions are generous enough that I always have leftovers to take home. This visit I customized my meal by skipping the bun and adding mashed potatoes instead, and wow...it was absolutely incredible. The Red Bridge Bistro has become one of my favorite restaurants. It looked as though it had been breaded in some kind of cheese mixture. It was pan friend and the underside of my tenderloin looked like a carbon copy. It was burnt. I ate about1/4 of it. I did not care for the breading. My friends had the tenderloin and a French dip sandwich. She took the French dip home for her dog as it was too tough to eat. We had a great wait staff that checked on us and gave us time to catch up with each other Since this is an old library, there is no elevator. It is necessary to walk down 20ish steps to the main dining room. No matter what shape you are in, those steps are a hazard Would I go back again? Not for lunch, maybe dinner or pizza.

My sandwich was beautiful and tasted great. The hand cut fries tasted delicious. My husband had Bob's Breakfast, a dinner favorite named for one of the dinner's first customers. The plate is a delicious concoction of hashbrowns, topped with two eggs, smothered in sausage gravy. My husband said "it works!" and devoured the entire plate. In a case by the cash register were the most gorgeous cookies that were huge. The cookies are made fresh daily. We took home a Blueberry Cream Cheese Cookie that was probably the best cookie that I've ever tasted. I'm not exaggerating. Our server, Wendi, did a great job taking care of us. She was prompt and attentive without being intrusive. The menu was chicken-centric as the restaurant name clearly implies. One intriguing side item that seemed to be a signature for them were the fried biscuits. They were essentially fried pieces of dough sprinkled with powdered sugar with apple butter spread that we used as a dip. They were memorable and made nice starters. All of our mains were, of course, chicken dinners. Dark and white meat ensembles were both available. There was a nice variety of sides and our party opted for various combos that included onion rings, green beans, cottage cheese, baked potato and mashed potatoes. And of course, American-style dinner rolls accompanied each meal. It was all very tasty. I'll also note that their coffee was reasonably good. My wife, our 4-yr-old granddaughter and I were able to split one three-piece dinner making this a fabulous value. The total bill with food, drinks, tax and tip was $85. At just over $21 per adult, it was a good value by today's standards. I'll gladly give this place five stars. They're unpretentious, deliver exactly what you're led to expect, and they pull it off very well. We'll go back if we have the chance.
