DO NOT USE!!! After calling out Mr rooter due to a backed up line which caused my washer drain to overflow they found that the drain line running under my living room was broken. And since water came out of the washer drain they stated there was water damage and suggested they call out thunder & lightning due to water damage. Mr rooter proceeded to call thunder and asked them to come out. When they arrived the service guy from thunder assessed my home and stated "do you want new cabinets?" He stated he would be leaving fans but that they only need to actually be turned on when one of their guys or my home owners insurance comes out to inspect as the fans would not actually dry out anything. He then assured me that the insurance would pay for their services no matter what. When my crappy insurance company(resident mutual insurance) denied the claim I then got stuck with an extremely high Mr rooter bill 5800$ and then thunder and lightning told me I owed them 2700$ for the machines that they told me not to even turn on or they would put a lien on my property. Do not do business with either of these companies and if u have resident mutual insurance drop them!!!! read more

We contacted Thunder & Lightning Services to deal with damage from a sewage leak in our house. I was unable to get in touch with my insurance company after hours and decided to call Thunder & Lightning directly instead. Travis sent a crew out immediately and they got to work removing waterlogged drywall and carpet and other damaged areas. They then sprayed the affected areas with antibacterial spray and set up drying tents with dehumidifiers. They cleaned everything up and hauled away the debris. read more

After discovering and fixing a pipe leak underneath my mobile home, I contacted Thunder & Lightning to assess the damages and remove the water damaged things that could not be repaired, such as the water-filled insulation under my home, the water heater "cubby" flooring (because the wood was soaked and warped from the water damage), as well as some internal damage that I was unaware of-like the carpet padding that was soaked in my husband's computer room! (I'm always leery of dishonest business practices--so I take a "show me" approach to everything) Sure enough, they pulled back the carpet, and there was the water-soaked padding! They were very respectful and pleasant, not hesitating to answer my questions or concerns, or "showing me" when I requested. Travis has been a tremendous help! Every time I called, he either answered on-the-spot or very promptly got back to me. He made me feel like my satisfaction with his work was his utmost concern and priority. He really put me at ease--that he would be there and would not move on until I was completely happy with the work his company did on my home! There were three companies I had to deal with to complete the various aspects of recovering from the cracked pipe. Not all of them gave the same level of professionalism, politeness, work ethic, honesty, or customer service! Two of the companies were great. It is with my sincerest appreciation, and utmost respect, that I thank Thunder & Lightning for being one of these great companies!! I would absolutely use this company again in the future if the need arose! I will also recommend this company to family and friends--which if I weren't 100% certain of the quality of their work and integrity, I wouldn't do. This is a most outstanding emergency services company. My water heater burst with water going every where. I got immediate service from them and even help with my insurance company to file a claim. Their workers are professional, cooperative, and do not complain even in harsh environmental work conditions. They did a most professional job of remediation and repairs that were necessary. Their office staff also are most helpful. Lizet in particular will go the extra mile to quickly have any concerns addressed. A live person answers whenever I called. I don't know about entire company because don't think my concerns ever made it past Travis a supervisor there. They completely ran a scam on us with their employee Billy Grenwerdt working with Payless for Plumbing Contractor RYAN. Payless was contracted to repair a UNDERGROUND drain pipe that had broke in our master bathroom which was previously denied as a insurance claim and now our responsibility to repair. Immediately said by Ryan that he believed through experience that this instead would end to be a valid claim if submitted correctly with adding additional contractors and testing be allowed. His mother works for State Farm (our home owners) and practically guaranteed this to now go through. This initial repair consisted of Ryan to remove 2ft of tile then cement to reach area to repair. When area of pipe in question reached he explained he had another contractor on way to scope and take pictures for start of this claim he explained as necessary. Instead Billy Grenwerdt (actually not sure of last name spelling I'm getting info off a scribbled signature of a part of this claim) showed up with a industrial fan and humidifier. I immediately questioned this need since no water, moisture or such need of these. I'm fully aware of this equipment and use of my father and Uncle own and operate a emergency restoration company and own several of these and stated just that that these were available to me at no cost obviously if felt were necessary and may by ANY chance be a cost that we could be responsible for. I was assured by both boys (Ryan and Billy) it's for insurance purposes for the claim and if in end didn't turn out to be a valid covered claim this for sure would never be charges we would be expected to pay. Confusing that these machines ran for 4 days drying out non existing moisture, water etc but said for monitoring purposes needed to calculate off them. After 4 days they were then removed never to see Billy again. Ryan continued for a bit seemingly causing excessive non necessary damages to entire bathroom til I finally stopped him to question his real intentions and plan. He then disappeared also leaving a damaged, inrepaired mess. No claim was ever accepted as previously discussed and we then disputed original payment of 3,000 dollars paid to Payless that made them finally take notice of us after numerous attempts to contact regarding plan to complete etc. Frank Beltran a supervisor with Payless came to our home and agreed with damage and my belief that a fraudulent insurance claim had been attempted due to our damage by both Payless and Thunder done and waived this initial payment and left us with zero paid or owed. Thunder on the other hand had the nerve to send bill of 3,700 demanding payment for their fraudulent services they rendered. We refused to pay this and tried to explain to Travis entire situation which instead landed deaf ears claiming he has pictures of moisture in a adjoining bathroom wall which we found out later to be a small leak in other bathroom from sink into vanity that occurred from excessive jackhammering done by Ryan as our house is old. To say moisture in wall in anyway relates to contracted work expected is a joke. This was never part of repairs expected to do as we contracted for drain pipe only which had NO visable water, moisture etc ever. The clog was in shower by the inch of water removed and then not used weeks before Payless started repairing it. Thunder claimed in their bill to have done a COMPLETE emergency service that WE not Ryan contacted them to do. Really? Would I call in a stranger rather than my own family if our house really in this condition at any point? They claim to have been called to a emergency dryout situation where they removed damaged items etc and did FULL dryout of this flooded bathroom!!!! It's crazy this claim to have provided. I ask that they offer pictures or proof of any kind claiming then pictures they do have which have never offered us to be of the Wall area of moisture from sink in other bathroom which I tried to clarify was never reason even Payless here to entertain. They completely ignored my requests to address this fraudulent invoice and payment expected but instead filed civil suit in SB court attempting to retrieve. Now Gary Bemis lol who I assume they have on retainer for real legit hopefully claims owed has to dust off his suit and shine up his loofers to appear on their behalf as we also will be allowed to now put them on full display of their shady services claimed provided to us. Even the lawsuit a joke they don't even have the property owner as ourselves listed but instead some other name then guess my husband Tim Temby not Larry. This is a complete joke and injustice to us and do hope this helps with any of you prior to considering them to do work in your home. I hired this company to do the work for the flood damage to my house. Beware of them. When I met with the owner of the company Charlie he said that they wait on payment until the insurance checks come in. In his bid he had a line item for flooring which he refused to pay for after the flooring was completed, he told me that I was supposed to pay even though it was in his bid. After days of him avoiding my calls I was told he was refusing to pay and I let him know that I was not happy and might file a claim with the contractors board. There is balance on his contract that the insurance is paying but in retaliation he choose to put a mechanics lien against my home and the work was just completed 3 weeks ago and he knows that the insurance is sending the last check. Very unprofessional and such a disappointment for a company that seemed so good in the beginning. A claim is being filed with the contractors board.
