Tuning needed: waitress brought our appetizer with our meal, took 30 min to deliver burgers when seating was filled but not busy (2pm on Saturday). Need to improve: The details of the food served- the description on the menu should match - burger was missing several toppings. We ordered well done burgers- not hockey pucks. I have to admit, I was a bit disappointed with the experience here, should have had more selection with beer. The menu looks decent until you read the small print that they will not do special requests like leaving mayo off a sandwich if you don't want it. I had a cheeseburger that was cooked too hot and too fast so that it was crispy black on the outside and pink in the center. I'd recommend checking other restaurants in town - this one needs to improve their operation. read more

The Bloody Mary bar is outstanding, I've never seen such a selection of items to create your own Bloody Mary, I was greatly pleased to find pickled asparagus in the choices. Truthfully we are bummed. We came up to Caseville from 2 hours away for a day trip and called to order some takeout...we ordered 2 salads called the thumb brewery Salad off their online menu and they told us it was now called the Michigan salad..ok, fine. We get these salads that we paid 28.00 for and it was literally wilted lettuce with a few cherries and a few walnuts. On the menu it said it came with bacon, red onion, and blue cheese in addition to these things...so gross. So bummed. read more

We came here with our toddler as we remembered it had outdoor seating with some room. We also remembered a better menu. Pizza, hoagies, wraps and boring appetizers. Wife ordered pepperoni pizza, I had a turkey swiss hoagie. Got a mac and cheese plate for the kid. Pizza was no better than store bought microwave. High school cafe made a better hoagie. Mac and cheese was FROZEN in the middle. Waitresses were great with crayons and bubbles. Feel sorry they have to work here. The beer menu is good with some tasty locals but it doesn't make up for the unimaginative, poor quality food. read more

What a great place! The food was excellent, the beer was awesome....I can't wait to go back and try some of the other flavors. The real appeal is the service though! Tanya, our server, greeted us like old friends when we came in. She had an answer for almost every question and knew who to ask when she didn't. We don't know anything about beer, but she was patient with us and explained the process and the pairings. Because of this I was able to try the oatmeal stout, which was really good. Our server suggested the beer cheese soup and I have to admit, I wouldn't have tried it on my own. I am so glad I did though and will be coming back for more. Greet beer, great food, great service... The front yard was very welcoming on a sunny warm day, no bugs not too hot, perfect. There was some contemplation as to which table we should sit at with out two dogs. Eventually the two hosts settled on a spot. The waitress was ...unique. The service was prompt and friendly, encouraging about trying some beer samples including her favorite which was so good that I ordered a second beer of the one she recommended. The menu is advertised as remarkable cuisine, that is just hilarious. How remarkable is a ham sandwich, how about a BLT? Ha. The waitress said that no one orders hoagies (versus wraps) and most certainly not a bean burger on one. She would see if the kitchen could do it. They managed it some how. Our sandwiches were good even if my hoagie was missing about 3 inches in length compared to my husband's. We ordered their beer and had a few samples only one was worthy of a cup (note I did not say pint or glass, they only pour 12 oz for the price we've been paying for a pint ($5-$6) in a plastic cup). New owners since summer of 2020. Beer is just ok. Food is processed- burgers were frozen patties and even my chicken sandwich was a pre-cooked chicken breast. The chicken was promised to be smothered in mozzarella, but this was not true at all- barely could see it. It came with pesto on a brioche bun. Very dry and tasteless. Sandwiches served with chips are all in excess of $12 which is too high for mediocre processed foods. Nice atmosphere outside, but not a "must go to" place. read more

Well, after 3 visits to Thumb Brewery in the past 7 days I feel I am now adequately familiar enough to give an accurate description! I'll say this up front, this brewery is still experiencing some growing pains; from the menu, decor and seating arrangements. PRO'S 1. Helpful and attentive staff. 2. Very Good Craft Beer Selection 3. Fair Prices for Pints & Food 4. Quick Food Service (Once you ordered) CON'S 1. Major Issues with Seating Came in tonight and our party was told it would be about a 20 minute wait time. 90 minutes later we had a table. It wasn't a huge issue since we didn't have anywhere to be but regardless no one really likes to wait for an hour over your estimated seating time. They so take reservations! Call ahead. 2. Hit & Miss On the Menu After trying 5 items on the menu there are definitely some winners and losers. The Pizza Sub Sandwich and Margarita pizza were both delicious! The pretzels, beer cheese soup, cheese and sausage platter and veggie burger are all pretty decent. The grilled chicken sandwich definitely tastes like something from the frozen food aisle of your local grocer. Not horrible but not what you would expect when someone else is preparing it and definitely was a frozen block at one point. - no grill yet. Will be revisiting once the grill is actually there. 3. Sit outside if possible. The inside is still in heavy need of work and it's definitely not the most optimum place to catch the game or enjoy any kind of atmosphere at all. 4. Overpriced Growlers, "Special Growlers" and refills. Growlers here are exactly 100% higher than in Royal Oak. $4 will get you a growler at ROB and Bastone's and refills are under $10. $8 will get you a Growler at the Thumb Brewery and most beers cost at least $20 to refill. This is Caseville not LA... Additional Notes: Seems to be struggling with identity. Can't tell if this is actually a family restaurant or brewery. From my humble experience you are eventually going to have to choose between the two. Either or is fine but you aren't really going to be able to achieve both or at least this would be a first. Only one bathroom for men and women. Smaller bar, only a 6 seater. On a closing note, I will definitely be checking out the Thumb Brewery again in the future. Just hoping they make some much needed improvements and continue to offer the best beer selection in Caseville. read more

Let's be clear here folks...the name is Thumb Brewery. The first and only pub in the Thumb dedicated to craft beers made on-site and other regional selections. They now have a solid year of experience under their belts and it's showing. There signature brew is the Oatmeal Stout. Yummy. They make batches of 50 gal. at a time. Over the winter they released their first IPA...excellent. As mentioned in the other reviews their food selection is strictly bar fare. I've stuck to the appetizers which is a perfect nibble with one of their pints. I would give 5 stars if they can expand their seating and lower the beer prices a bit. They offer a membership with includes a growler and a glass. My benchmark is Blackrocks in Marquette. read more

We were seated outside and my wife was cold so we asked if we could be seated inside. The waiter said sure just go inside and grab any table that wasn't taken. So we did, but no one ever came to serve us. We flagged down a waiter and managed to get our order in. We ordered an appetizer and our meals, but they all came at the same time. Had an excellent dinner with friends last night at the thumb brewing company. We started out with horseradish cheese and warm pita wedges. The cheese was very tasty and the potassium were perfectly warm, toasty and soft. Very good. My wife had the thumb brewery salad. It was most delicious but was a salad you could definitely get at other fine establishments. I on the other hand toiled with having the PB&J burger, the combination sounds very interesting but I just wasn't digging strawberry jelly with jalapeños, maybe next time. Instead I settled on the cowboy burger. The bbq sauce was more of a sweet chili sauce than a bbq sauce but was absolutely delicious. We had our kids with us and I felt the kids meal prices were a bit high ($5 for Mac and cheese with chips), but the large fresh baked cookie to end the meal was a huge hit with the kids. From a service perspective Our waiter did an excellent job at keeping up with two families with kids going a little crazy. The restaurant was quite empty when we were there so I'm assuming that was part of why the service was so excellent, but I'll take it. Overall some unique items on the menu that was very tasty. The prices were around the right ballpark for the quality of food (maybe a little high for the thumb, but overall in line with expectations). Ironically we didn't try any of their beer, but they had a lot of other michigan breweries on tap. Service was good and we'll definitely be visiting again! read more

Ambient. Good beer selection. Almost 1/2 friendly, in a Michigan crass egotistical way. My compliments end there. I almost never dock for service but this was pretty bad. I changed my mind while ordering and the guy couldn't get past it. Went from one sandwich no mayo to a a different sandwich no cheese. I can promise I said "no cheese" 3 times because it threw him for a loop. Of course the sandwich came with cheese, he got all pissy and said no, you said no mayo. Yes, I explained, on the first sandwich I ordered, but this sandwich doesn't even come with mayo. Then he came back and said they tried to scrape the cheese off but it was baked on so they had to remake it. Uh...yeah I think so. When we got our food, none of it was good. Mine was meh, my friends chicken dish was tiny and flavorless, my husband's medium rare burger was cooked to a crisp. No thanks. Oh, and they aren't a brewery like how you'd think, they have craft beers that other people make on the menu, and two selections they make that aren't very good. read more

I had a wonderful time on the outdoor patio at the Thumb Brewery last Sunday. We meet 19 close friends and family, ate lunch and visited while enjoying so good brews. I thought the Quinn's Irish Red Ale was delicious! I also got a chance to try the 2015 Award winning Cheeseburger Fest's "Cheeseburger": Kaiser roll, 1/lb certified Angus Beef, peanut butter, strawberry jelly, jalpenos and bacon slices! Sounds so weird - but it works!! I'd go back just for that! The Fiesta dip (feta and roasted red bell peppers) was also a favorite. read more
