Still my favorite place to go in PB! If you haven't tried day-drinking at Thrusters Lounge then you are missing out. Some of the very best times I have at Thrusters happen in the daytime hanging out with friends and chatting with the bartenders. The bartenders are awesome and can come up with exotic drinks and shots if you simply ask. Vinny is especially great for this and came up with my favorite drink when he bartends, a "Blind Cesarean" which I am pretty sure has been altered slightly each time I order it. Bottom line, I love Thrusters at any time but especially during the day time. If you aren't a part of the "Thrusters Day Drinking Society" you are missing out! read more

Better places in the area, don't waste your time/$. Went to San Diego for short vacation, we stopped in here for couple drinks, and it was ok. Service not great. It has such potential to be a great place to hang out too! read more

Thrusters Lounge is awesome. My friends and I went here after taco Tuesday and had fun. The played ok music and the videos playing on tv were hilarious and entertaining. The also have a few Arcade games you can play. This bar was very relaxed and matched the vibes I was looking for on a Tuesday night. Nothing crazy just simple relaxed bar. The bar is next door to a Coin Laundry place. So if you see a line at night it's not for coin laundry. It's for the bar which is connect to the same building haha. I've been with a few people who argued with me telling me the bar was called coin laundry and it's not or the thought Coin Laundry was busy. This bar is amazing and I highly recommend it. read more

Was there on a Wednesday, DJ lacked talent and we left to enjoy a good time elsewhere... SO many places around to enjoy, will not be going back read more

I really enjoyed myself at Thrusters, except 2 instances have made it so I never want to come back here. To start, I came in with a bachelorette party, and the atmosphere was good for that. They have skeeball, music, and relatively inexpensive drinks, so that was all good. But here is the bad: their service kinda sucks. And I don't mean this on the bartenders - they were working their tails off! It's on the owner and the security at the door. There were a few things with the owner that came off as odd, but one of the big ones was this: a girl in my group had her drink (a grey goose and soda) knocked over by another random patron. It was a full drink. Since the bartenders were slammed and the owner was making no moves to help, she had to ask for a rag and cleaned up the mess herself. She then asked the owner (who was watching her) if he could replace her drink, and he said he would but only with well vodka. Well, she purchased premium vodka, her glass was full, and SHE cleaned up the mess; yet he couldn't replace her drink appropriately?? He had an attitude about it that rubbed us all the wrong way (we had been there for hours) and she ended up having to purchase another drink, at full price. As for door security, you can tell the guy is on a huge power trip. When we were leaving around 1am I realized that one person from our group hadn't made it outside. I had just walked out the door 30 seconds prior, and asked the door security if I could go back in to grab my friend. He REFUSED!! He said if I wanted to go in, I would need to wait in line (the line was looong). I said that he just watched me leave, and that I just needed to find one girl because she was now separated from the group and we were leaving. I even offered to let him hold onto my ID and credit cards to prove I'd be back in a minute or 2. He still refused and then insinuated that I wanted to go back in and party, and that I was not allowed back in. Luckily for me, someone walked out and I was able to spot my friend and yelled at her through the opening, so we left. Because of these two instances, I'm inclined to never go back. Which is a shame because I visit PB often, usually with large groups of friends who enjoy a good bar scene - but looks like we'll take our business elsewhere from now on to someplace that appreciates their patrons. read more

I walked I to this dive and saw a big dildo as a tap handle. I was like cool,can I get a pint of what's in that tap. I was dissatisfied that it was just cold beer . The tap handle is false advertising. Then this dude "Vinny" gets all pissy with me . After the 30th time I hollered " MY COUSIN " at him and asked if he'd heard that before he said " yeah dick beer from you 30 times now" and I was like "dick beer? I WISH" anyway... this place is ok. read more

Came here at the end of the night after a waitress's suggestion. Definitely a dive bar, but they played good music and have a basketball game to kill some time. It was a Sunday night, but had a few people there as apparently it is Industry night there. Again, it is a dive bar, so do not expect a vegas style night out on the town. It is also hard to get a drink so be ready to move people to get through to the bar. It is also a pretty small lounge. Also, just a heads up but places close at 1:30 am out here. Weird but just fyi. Overall, you might be able to find another place that is better, but good luck on Sunday. read more

Slow service, bad prices for a place that's pretty divey. So I like dive bars but when you charge 5$ for a beer it becomes stupid. Super slow service, it was a chargers day but the bar wasn't crowded. There were 3 bartenders working and it took a good 10 minutes to get a drink. read more

5 stars because it's a staple dive bar in PB & always will be. If you're a douche canoe & think you're better than this place, you're wrong & should leave. Come here for a drink, some laughs & great time! Don't Yelp anything but 5 stars! I've had so many great memories & some i honestly can't remember, but my bank statement shows i was there last & if i made it home with my phone, keys & CC then they're doing something right! 0/10. International passports not accepted yet that's how you enter the country? Told only passport "cards" accepted despite the fact you're only able to GET a passport card if you have a REAL passport. Such a joke and pure discrimination of non-US citizens in plain sight. Allowed US ID holders to skip queue and walk in whilst denying every non US, using the passport card only as an excuse knowing they're much rarer and actually not even valid to fly into the US with only around Europe making them a much less valuable ID. Bouncer was so rude and quite frankly so embarrassing on behalf of this establishment. Never experienced such discrimination. read more

I know that place sells cheap drink and I respect local dive bars, but it should never subsidize on service. I came back to retrieve my credit card that I left there by accident the day before. I came at their slow time, Wed 8:30ish, and about 10 people at the bar and the bartender is no where to be found. So I waited at the bar and a girl who was eating at the bar by herself said the bartender will be back. I asked her if she works at Thursters and she said yes. I asked her nicely if I can get my credit card and I'm not having a drink, she said "I'm not on the clock...so you'll need to wait for the bartender." I work as a San Diego bartender also, so I know you're technically not on the clock doesn't meant you cant go around the bar and find my card. Not being on the clock doesn't mean that you can not be nice to your past/future customers...after all...they do pay your bills. After 10 minutes of standing awkwardly next to the girl who works there while she's eating. The bartender comes out and literally took 10 seconds to give me back my credit card. I'm sure this review wont affect much of their business, but you've definitely lost at least one customer for life. read more

Our hero ventured into this strange small bar filled with Hasselbeck, Curry, Tatupu, and Burleson jerseys on a Sunday. Good lord... he was in a Seattle Seahawks bar. Even though most of the people were cheering for the Seahawks, they also had the Chargers game and the Steelers game on different screens for a bit of variety. On Saturday and Sunday, bloody marys and mimosas are on sale for $2 a pop. The mimosas are fairly small, and the bloody marys are a bit weak, but they're cheap. The bloody mary here is especially interesting, as they are served with a chunk of pepperjack cheese and salami in it. Apparently Seattle must be too cold for celery. Decor is geared towards industrial skateboarders, with a lot of painted skateboard and longboard decks lining the walls. The Seahawks lost that day and nobody started a riot... that's also pleasant. PROS: - $1.50 for all draft beers on Mondays after 8 PM, which includes Guinness, Stella, Shock Top, and a fairly extensive selection of beers. - They don't serve food, but they don't mind you bringing in any outside food to eat while downing beers. CONS: - The bar is extremely narrow and small and it's hard not to rub against random people when making your way down this crowded bar. - The all metal industrial style bar chairs are somewhat uncomfortable to sit on for extended periods. - They charge cover on random nights. read more

My buddy that just moved here really wanted to check out PB. This place gave her a real feel of how douchy PB is. Actually, I'm glad I brought her here because hopefully she now realizes why I refuse to hang out in this part of town. I ordered a Guinness. The bartender poured it all the way to the top in one go. He saw my look of surprise and said "What???" and I was like "You're not supposed to pour it like that" and he was like "It will settle." .......... I picked it up from the bar and to my surprise, it was served in a plastic cup. I didn't realize my own strength and almost spilled the whole thing... We walk over to the dance floor. Let me paint a picture for you: The music is loud and bumping. Its a pretty good selection of hip hop and electronic. I like. Looking around, I notice that its quite the sausage fest. Guy/Girl ratio is like 5/1. Sounds good to a single girl, right? WRONG!! Gross, sweaty douche bags gyrating on the dance floor. Gravitating towards any decent chick that walks into the bar. The bathrooms line the dance floor and provide a nauseating whiff with every entry. My buddy got TP on her shoe without even going into the bathroom. Gross! read more

So this place at first refused to let me in because they were "uncomfortable" with my ID. Mind you I am almost 30 years old and they made such a scene about letting me in and I was with 8 other Massachusetts ID residents with 3 of them having the same last name as me. Then my friend and I were kicked out for absolutely no reason. Seemed as if the bartenders looked at us as targets with a valid ID. At this point, we were sober and the night was still early. Extremely shocked on the treatment my family and friends received. It was very bizarre and my family was visiting to have a fun time. We will not be returning anytime soon. read more

One of the most fun & exciting things to do in the city of Seattle is attend a Seahawks game! In Seattle, watching the hawks play is about more than just watching. It's about the spirit people have for their team and city in one place at the same time. THIS is what you get from Thrusters (during football season to be specific)! It's a smaller venue, so you most likely will have to stand unless you arrive early for a game. But if your a Seahawks fan and live in San Diego... This place is a must do! It's the closest thing to bring at an actual game! Plus the beer on game day is amazing and inexpensive. I absolutely recommend this place! read more

Bouncer takes my real id, tells me I'm underage, and when I tell him I'll have to call the police he gives me the worst most unapologetic attitude I've ever seen. Spent a total of half an hour waiting for the police and having them get my id back. Dude's an absolute moron. Not to mention a sexist who hates being embarrassed by a woman. A dream come true for a displaced Seattle native! Seriously, I couldn't believe my eyes as I drove down Mission Blvd at 9:30am to the sight of droves of Seahawks jerseys flocking in the same direction. THE GIST: Great place to chill and kick back a few! OVERALL: We came to this place to have a couple of brews on a Wednesday evening. Very few patrons in the bar at this time but we weren't looking for a crowd. THe place had a friendly feel, great vibes, clean, friendly bartenders, love the mirrors on the wall which make the place feel twice as big as the place really is. On this night the bartender played Beatles for a while which was wonderful, but having Dr. Oz show on multiple flat screen TVs showing off spotted livers and other diseased organs was disgusting and not really matching the music ;) . RECOMMENDATIONS: Very great tasting NEW CASTLE on tap! INTERESTING: San Diego must have had a lot of smashed pint glasses. Everywhere we go there are always plastic pint cups..which are not our fav for enjoying our tall cold glasses of beer. read more

LOL they had a huge neon sign inside hating on Yelp ha ha I thought it was funny I came here Halloween weekend with my friends. We came from a party and some of the girls decided to go here idk why since the party was already good. The there was a small line but it went by fast. They have a small dance floor in the back, it was just okay. Not really a fan of the music they played. I'm not into Dive Bars but there was nothing wrong with this place, just not my thing. read more

You ever get stuck in that overpriced bar with 100% dudes that are dressed to impress, and you wonder why there's not one single cute girl there? It's cause all the hot girls go get shit-faced at Thrusters. I think this bar CONSISTENTLY (every night, year around) has the best hot girl to guy ratio in San Diego (especially for its size). The bartenders are even hot. I see few D-bags, and fights almost never break out. And for some reason, this place always attracts large groups of women on the weekends... and not just any women... women that dress in lovely hoochie fits and actively acquire embarrassing stories about lushing there way home with some dude dressed in a rooster outfit who reacted nicely when they puked in his fish tank... ...sorry, that was random... and it NEVER HAPPENED!! read more

The security guard out front was not even paying attention, (a heavy set man with a ball cap, looked like a country singer) made my group and I uncomfortable and didn't even pay attention to our IDs. We proceeded to give him a tip and he made comments under his breath all the while his friend was sitting out front with him giving him advise and the guy didn't even work there. As we proceeded to the bar the bartenders apologized for the "security"guards inconvenience and gave us a discount saying he was going through personal "issues". I do not recommend going here if you are with your significant other as there is a jealous motive at the front door with the security: I recommend whoever the guy is working tonight be fired because he has been reading a book the whole time and not even paying attention to security which makes me think this company doesn't even have a license. read more

Established in 1999.

Revolutionizing surfing in the 1970's, the invention of the three fin "Thruster" surfboard is often credited to Australia's Simon Anderson. Since then, this third fin has been helping surfers to absolutely kill it. Since 1999, Thrusters Lounge has helped welcome San Diegans home to an intimate and classic cocktail lounge by the beach. One block from the sand, Thruster's presents a mix of tufted booths, stone, recycled copper and glass fixtures, and dark wood columns and beams, merged with artistic and vintage skateboard and surf paraphernalia. Thrusters Lounge also hosts entertainment, offering DJ's, bands, all NFL, NCAA, College Football packages, and more. Thrusters offers 44 beers on draft. As I understand it, Moray's is the outside/patio dining portion, while Oceana is the indoor fine-dining situation. I believe they pretty much have very similar menus, with Oceana having some additional high-end offerings. Came out to Moray's to visit my cousin who was in town for work. Since my cousin now has her most adorable infant, she wanted to keep it simple and dine at the hotel restaurant, which was fine by me. While I waited for them to come down from their room, I got us a patio table and ordered a delicious $10 draft. Mixed drinks were all hovering around $19 each. The server was friendly, welcoming, and helpful, which I greatly appreciated. I went with the reasonably priced Steak Frites, $36, which was to stated to come with Muenster cheese and caramelized onions on top, and served with a side chimichurri. While the steak was wonderfully cooked to a solid med. rare as requested, it seemingly had very little flavor. Perhaps had it not been covered with a wealth of some DEEPLY caramelized onions and an abundance of Muenster cheese, I might have been able to taste the seasonings and/or the beef. While I love some deeply caramelized onions on a salt-laden burger, the extent to which these were caramelized left them seeming soggy and too sweet for the steak pairing. Add in the several slices of melted Muenster cheese on top, and flavourwise I could hardly tell I was eating a steak. Ultimately, the abundance of toppings overwhelmed the steak. The accompanying chimichurri was also a little strange. While I appreciate that it was diced and not blended, it was very heavy on the oil, while very light on the herbs. The frites were nicely salted and good on their own, however a decent amount became soggy from being under the steak. The burger on the other hand looked excellent. My cousin devoured his in what seemed like a split second. I could have went for the burger, however at $27 I perceived the $36 steak frites to be of a better value. Again, shout out to our server. They were on-point! Thanks Moray's!

The vibe in here is awesome. The Turkish decorations add that great middle eastern spice. They serve food, coffee, desserts and hookah. My eyes lit up when I saw that espresso machine in the back... I was surprised to see my favorite hookah flavor on the menu. Ambrosia is a flavor you only see at a handful of places, so I had to order it. The hookah was great. Charcoal was being changed constantly. Paired perfectly with my black tea. The owners are a friendly couple who made sure everyone was enjoying their time here. I'm a big fan! Im definitely getting an espresso next time.

Tasted like the bowl and vase had never been cleaned. I walked out after 45 min. I was the ONLY one there. I will NEVER visit this place again and share this experience.

With prime rib, charcuterie, amazing salads, desserts, and real omelets and pancakes. I ate way too much! Bottomless mimosa's for those that enjoy that. We were greeted with a smile when we walked in, and I was so glad we had a reservation because the whole place was packed. This restaurant only does buffets three times a year. I wish they would do them every weekend! The view out back was absolutely beautiful, and the temperature was a perfect 71 degrees. I couldn't have been happier, and I've been telling everyone how amazing this place was. I'll definitely be back for the next brunch buffet. :-)

And if you're stuck here for some reason (work thing, misled by the name "Hyatt Resort"), you can stop in for a quick drink before you try out the restaurant/bar or decide you'd do better to get yourself elsewhere for good food and an actual Happy Hour that is, in fact, happy. Note that there is a waterslide nearby. That should give you all the visuals you need about how many kids are nearby. This is desperation drinking. And if you're in need, this will scratch the itch. They also deliver to your seat if you put up a flag. It's not "Stay Classy San Diego"... but it'll get you to a happier place.

Son ordered the St Louis Ribs and said he didn't like them at all. Husband arrived and ordered a Moscow Mule. Upon check-in at hotel we got a coupon for free chips & salsa. We ordered them, and chips were good, but salsa was thick like a spaghetti sauce; weird. Why 3 stars? Service was very good. Our server was fast and when she noticed that husband had been sitting too long without his drink she removed the charge from the tab. Awesome. Plus, they gave me generous pours of my wine. They need to work on their menu to improve. FYI, they are the only bar at hotel open late. We returned around 11:30pm. They have a ping pong table & Foosball table outside with seating. Hubby and I had an intense Foosball game (I won!) and several Moscow Mules (tried their cucumber one, meh) and their regular one seemed a tad too sweet for me. But at night, great atmosphere to sit outside (they closed around 12:30).

It is a little on the pricier side, but for the atmosphere, service, and overall experience, I would say it is definitely worth it.
