Trash place! I'd leave a 0 star if a could! Dude said that because it was after 12am (it was 12:15am) they were going to get busy. He said they usually charge $30 but because of that it was $50. Music was so obnoxious!!! Changing songs randomly. Kept getting louder and louder. Hookah tasted like ABSOLUTE TRASH! Tasted like the bowl and vase had never been cleaned. I walked out after 45 min. I was the ONLY one there. I will NEVER visit this place again and share this experience. read more

This hookah lounge is such a great location. The customer service was great too. This place definitely has comfortable seating with a nice ambiance. I went on a Sunday so it was not crowded, but the employee was very friendly and welcoming. The music was a vibe too. Price was decent too. Will be coming back! read more

this place was absolute garbage and a tourist trap, they gave us a 20$ hookah that was 1 foot tall and charged us 35$ for it, it hit so harsh I was about to go to the ER, and then proceeded to charge us 20$ for 2 beers. we payed 65$ for 2 beers and 2 hits of a hookah! DONT BE FOOLED BY THE LOUD MUSIC this place could not be worse i was wondering why it was completely empty on a Saturday night. read more

One of my new favorite spots. I haven't been to a hookah lounge since the beginning of this pandemic. Now that they're reopening things, I had the pleasure of coming to Pacific Lounge. The vibe in here is awesome. The Turkish decorations add that great middle eastern spice. They serve food, coffee, desserts and hookah. My eyes lit up when I saw that espresso machine in the back... I was surprised to see my favorite hookah flavor on the menu. Ambrosia is a flavor you only see at a handful of places, so I had to order it. The hookah was great. Charcoal was being changed constantly. Paired perfectly with my black tea. The owners are a friendly couple who made sure everyone was enjoying their time here. I'm a big fan! My favorite hookah spot in San Diego! They have a selection of specialty hookah recipes, including wine/milk/juice bases that makes for an incredible smoking experience. Their Turkish coffee is my favorite menu item, but they also serve teas, small bites, delicious baklava, kunefe, and ice cold beers/wine/cider. Friday and Saturday nights they're open LATE and there's always great music and an epic party! read more

When I made my reservation, I called ahead and spoke with multiple staff members to let them know it was a special occasion. Every conversation reassured me that everything was noted, so I arrived genuinely excited, especially knowing the restaurant is known for its anniversary touches like the card, Polaroid, celebratory shots, and dessert. When we arrived, the hosts and staff were incredibly welcoming. We were greeted with "Happy Anniversary," and even our server acknowledged the occasion a few times and made small conversation about what we are celebrating. I just found it so odd that our server didn't pull through. During appetizers, everything seemed to be off to a great start, and I truly thought we were in for a memorable evening. Unfortunately, everything went downhill once the entrées arrived. The steak was severely overcooked--very dry (as you can see in the photo, blackened, and lacking any real flavor. The bread served with my escargot was so burnt that it overpowered the dish entirely. For a restaurant with this reputation and price point, the food was genuinely disappointing. What confused me even more was what happened afterward--or rather, what didn't happen. I patiently waited throughout dinner, expecting the anniversary experience the restaurant is known for. No card. No Polaroid. No celebratory shots. No dessert. Nothing. We were simply handed the check as if it were any ordinary meal. Before leaving, I asked another staff member whether Born & Raised still offered the anniversary celebration. They immediately said yes. After I explained that we hadn't received any of it, a manager came over and was kind and apologetic. I appreciated the professionalism, but by that point, the moment had already passed. You only get one chance to make an anniversary dinner feel special, and unfortunately that opportunity was missed. What disappoints me most isn't that something was forgotten, mistakes happen. It's that I had gone out of my way well in advance to make sure everything was noted, multiple employees confirmed it, everyone acknowledged our anniversary throughout the evening, and yet no one actually followed through. It felt disorganized and ultimately dismissive. For a dinner that cost around $250, I expected far better execution, both in the kitchen and in the overall experience. Instead, I left feeling confused, let down, and wondering what exactly went wrong. I'm usually very understanding and willing to give restaurants another chance. In this case, however, between the poor quality of the food and the lack of attention to what should have been a well-planned celebration, I won't be returning. Not only did my wallet hurt, but what was supposed to be a memorable anniversary ended up being one of the most disappointing fine dining experiences I've had. (Was it because I didn't mold the societal standard, since my partner is also a female) - just a thought I had. Anyway, I can still taste the burnt bread in my mouth.. the sides were decent.

It is that good. The second time we went, my friends and I just all ordered the earl grey matcha because we didn't want to share. The store is small so sometimes if the line is long, you have to wait outside. It goes by somewhat quickly. There is seating in the back that looks really nice. There were desserts. We got their sesame cake, it was fine. I would definitely put this place as somewhere to visit. There is street-side parking. If you get lucky, someone already paid for the parking meter.

They genuinely cared about the feedback and made me feel heard this says a lot about a business. Customer service is everything to me & they completely turned my experience around!! I've been back since and this place continues to be one of my favorite matcha spots in SD! I brought two of my closest friends from out of town to try it and both approved! This time around I was greeted as soon as I walked in and that made all the difference. I decided to branch out and try two new flavors. I got the Blueberry 30 & Pistachio 54. Both were AMAZING and full of flavor. Blueberry was definitely my favorite. I'd give them both a 5/5 ! Huge shoutout to Justin, the manager, for being beyond kind and so welcoming. He made the experience even better. Safe to say they've earned my 5 stars. Not only are the drinks incredible, but it's clear they truly care about their customers and the experience they provide. I'll definitely be back probably sooner than I should be.

Between Us has been on my list for the longest time. After finally trying it, my only regret is not…read morecoming sooner because everything we ordered was delicious. We walked in around 12:40 without a reservation. They close at 2:30, but we were still seated pretty quickly. Every employee we interacted with was genuinely friendly. The service never felt rushed even though we came close to close. I also had no idea we walked in during their "US Hour" from 12:00 to 2:30, so that ended up being a nice surprise. They offer $7 draft beers, $9 wine, $10 mimosas, plus a handful of bites for $9. We started with the Fried Calamari Tentacles from the US Hour menu. They're served with Japanese mayo, although it tasted like there was some citrus mixed in because it had a nice tangy kick. Whatever it was, it worked really well with the crispy calamari. To drink, I ordered the Yuzu Matcha Mimosa. It had a really vibrant green color that almost reminded me of green juice. I actually enjoyed it. The matcha flavor came through without getting lost. My friend wasn't the biggest fan because they thought it leaned a little too bitter, so I think this one depends on how much you already enjoy matcha. For my entree, I ordered the Duck and Waffles ($24), which comes with crispy duck confit, a waffle, passionfruit guava sauce, and chili crunch. This was easily the highlight of the meal. The duck was cooked perfectly. It was crispy on the outside, tender inside, and seasoned just enough to let the meat shine. I also appreciated that the chili crunch actually had some heat instead of just being there for texture. The waffle was light and fluffy. I'm a sucker for sweet and savory combinations, so the powdered sugar paired with the rich duck was enough to win me over. The passionfruit guava sauce was the only part I wasn't completely sold on. It wasn't bad by any means. I just think it's one of those flavors that comes down to personal preference. This ended up being one of those meals that reminded me why I keep a running list of places I want to try. Great food. Great service. A fun happy hour that I accidentally stumbled into. My only wish is that parking in North Park was a little easier, but that's just part of the neighborhood. I'd definitely come back.

I watched the table carefully pick around this one lone barely sugared piece. Ngl, I like the ones at Disneyland better. Both me and a daughter ordered the Chunky Avocado Toast with a poached egg, we both felt that the toast was a little tough. Good avocado spread and the egg oozed well. I tried their house hot sauce with it but wasn't too impressed with it. I also ordered a side of the House Potatoes. These were awesome. Crisp outside but not over done , well seasoned. Totally recommend. Wife ordered the Mushroom Chazuke. Mix of seasonal mushrooms. She liked it a lot. Tastes some of the mushrooms. Earthy but not overbearingly so. The wild rice and poached egg made for a pretty good mix. Other daughter got the Curry Hamburg. She likes her curry, especially Japanese curry. While she did not get transported to Tokyo she did give it a thumbs up. This place is pretty busy and I was fairly impressed with the attentiveness of our waitress. Waters kept full which was handy as it was a bit hot and my car was a good walk away. Would like to visit again and try other menu items.
