November 2024: This yoga studio is organized, clean and has a calming atmosphere. The instructors are knowledgeable and friendly. There are a variety of classes throughout the week. They have equipment you can borrow too. They use an app with which you can sign up for classes, buy passes, read instructor bios and reviews, etc. It is convenient. Recommend! read more

I have been looking for a new studio since moving south from Seattle last year. I am very pleased with the yoga sessions I've taken the past few weeks. I purchased a 5-week drop-in package ($99) and received an educator discount as well :-) I look forward to continuing here. I've been going to 3 Trees Yoga for 14 years now and it has become more of a home than a yoga studio. There is a real sense of community there and there is a wide variety of yoga classes to choose from. The teachers are all very well trained and help to create a warm and welcoming atmosphere. I have also gone on a couple of their hiking and yoga retreats which have not only been wonderful, but have built long term friendships. After many years of driving past the studio and thinking "I should really check it out" I finally did and it was the best decision I've made this year. I stopped in for their free National Yoga Day class and left feeling completely rejuvenated. I love that the instructors focus on your mind as well as your body. My favorite part of the class is the chance to sit down and focus on breathing. Since then, I have taken 3 more classes with 3 different instructors. Although they all have different styles of teaching, they are all wonderfully caring and gifted. This studio is an absolute gem. There are a variety of classes offered to fit everyone's needs. The teachers here are well trained and some of the most humble, kind and authentic people you will ever meet. I truly feel at home here. The facility is clean, calm and well maintained. There are mats available to you to use if you don't have your own or forget yours. There is also a boutique room to purchase over various items (mala beads, mats, books, art, etc.) and if you're in the market for a Jade mat specifically, you'll be happy to know that they sell them. I took Three Trees' Prenatal Yoga class every single Saturday for three months recently, for months 3-5 of my first pregnancy. The class was absolutely stellar. I was so bummed to have to leave it behind when I moved to Renton at the end of my second trimester. These Prenatal Yoga classes are low impact - I never broke a sweat - but I did end up mildly sore the next day several times (in a good way), and they were wonderful for getting me loosey-goosey and improving my flexibility in preparation for labor. The classes are very relaxing as well, and we repeatedly covered other important things like standing with proper posture, avoiding diastasis recti by getting up properly, and more. I can't recommend this class for fellow pregnant ladies enough, I loved it! And you don't have to sign up for the whole series, they will let you prorate. Good luck! read more

This is the best yoga instruction I have received since my first yoga instructor, who was a big influencer in my love of yoga today. Every class is a bit different. It is not a sequence of the same poses over and over again, which can get a bit boring. Instead, the instructors work through a different combination each time for warming up, muscle tone, stretching and then resting. They are great at demonstrating the poses as well. There are various levels of yoga ranging from Beginner I to Level 2. Since I joined Three Trees Yoga two months ago, I have finally been able to master Crane Pose and a head stand. People in the class are friendly and gives the studio a community feel. Thursday night mixed level class is my favorite. Dhuval (the instructor) is very good at explaining each pose so I really feel the stretch and use of my core. Even basic poses that I have been doing for years (like Warrior Two) seem completely different under his instruction. Price is a little more than I prefer to pay, but I enjoy it so I consider it money well spent. read more

Three Trees yoga studio has been my saving grace ever since I walked thru the door. Words cannot express my gratitude for Karen, Suzy, and Jeni. All three are extremely inspirational, compassionate, and knowledgeable yoga instructors. They have created a safe and loving environment that truly nourishes the mind, body, and soul. I have spent the past year studying with Three Trees for my 200 hour yoga teacher certification. Selecting this program was one of the best decisions I have ever made. They are extremely affordable and are willing to even work out payment plans. The teachers in the program have so much to offer in the area of expertise they teach in. No question asked ever went unanswered. The staff put so much thought and detail into every lesson. They also went above and beyond by being available to us for questions or feedback anytime outside of in-person class hours. I was injured for a long period of time thru out the training which was really difficult for me. The instructors graciously accommodated my injury both physically and mentally and offered a wealth of support every step of the way. I do not know if I would have made it thru this program elsewhere. Lastly, Three Trees created an intimate, safe, and caring environment for teacher training where we could all speak our truths. Everyone has their own personal struggles and this program encourages you to really dig deep. All people are truly embraced and celebrated no matter what in this program. I am a member of the third yoga teacher training that this studio has done and I cannot express with words how much this studio and the women who run it have changed my life. I will try though. The training was well rounded including Ayurveda (which many trainings do not include) as well as everything the aspiring yoga teacher could ask for. Although I walked into training unsure of myself as a human and trying to heal emotional scars and trauma from my past, I will be walking out of training with my head held high, whole and happy. The relationship that these three have is both inspirational and crucial to the dynamic of the training program. So far each instructor I have had the pleasure of interacting with or of taking their class has surpassed my expectations and provided me with a place I am happy to call home both in my heart and within the walls of the studio. If you are hesitant about enrolling in this training program because you feel unworthy please know that, "YOU ARE WORTHY!" You deserve to be there and this is a fantastic place to get your start as a yogi, teacher and student. You will amaze yourself with how much you are capable of. This is an alignment based program so know that you will graduate with a deep understanding of human anatomy and why we do what we do in a safe and stable way as teachers and yogis. I am forever in gratitude to "the trees" and forever blessed to know them and be guided by them. I enrolled in this YTT program to dive deeper into my own journey and ended up with so much more. Not only do we get into the Asanas and philosophy, but we have specialist brought in for Anatomy and Ayruvada, and each of our teachers comes with a strong specialty of their own. The program gives you ten months to explore each asana in your body, and observe the effects of the work we do both on the mat and off. This is such a wonderful program, enriched program, offering personal tools to better us off the mat as people. The work you put in is up to you. Some take this program simply for personal enrichment, other take it to share their love with others. Whatever it is you seek here, if you are truely looking, you will find it in yourself. read more

The "slower" classes like "Stress Relief" & "Yoga Nidra" will really test your ability to ignore irritants, as phones vibrate & people snore through savasana (and sometimes even a big portion of the class). If, like me, you find this sort of thing counter-productive, then you might want to consider sticking to the Vinyasa classes & level 2 classes, where it's less-likely to occur. read more

I've really enjoyed this non-hot yoga studio. There are a large variety of classes to choose from, although lately I've been into Samitha's Sunday vinyasa class which is fast paced and challenging. The instructors at this studio seem to really know their anatomy and give great advice for using correct posture. read more

Completed an intermediate class today. Yoga is a mind and body combination practice. With my busy schecule, I need to get everything out of it when I have time for the class. I want mind and I want challenge and excel within reason. When I cannot go, I practice at home. The class today was like an introduction level of yoga not intermediate. An experience yoga teacher will be able to tailor the class for new yogi and experience yogi. Today is not the day. The warm up was so long and not warm. There is a lot of talking by the teacher. The flow was practice under a mediocre mindset. It is lack of encourement. I know we cannot push it if today is not the day. But, everything the teacher said is just don't go there without trying. It was way too safe. I know I can add onto my routine to my liking but I want to excel with feedback. That's why I come out and paid to practice in group for guidence and improve. It is difficult to find a quality yoga studio in the south Seattle, Federal Way area. I need it clean, convenient with good yoga teacher. Hot or not is not most important to me. With today's practice, I felt unachieve, boxed in and did not break a sweat. It is not what I wanted. Disappointed. To be keep on trying and searching.... read more

The 200-hr Yoga Teacher Training offered by Three Trees yoga was an incredible experience. The lessons learned there have deepened my personal practice while also making me a yoga professional. The education provided was well-rounded and focused on so much more than asana, or the physical practice, of yoga. Additionally, the training aligned me with incredible yogis who have become strong support systems and close friends. The instructors, including the Jeni, Karen, and Suzy, were insightful, encouraging, knowledgeable, and passionate about yoga and student success. Their mentorship continues even now that I have graduated. I would highly recommend their program to any military spouses considering yoga teacher training. Their monthly sessions are easy to incorporate into a busy "military spouse" schedule and they worked to accommodate students when life commitments meant missing portions of weekend sessions. I love this place! It is a great place to get a good work out, even though it isn't super fast paced yoga or hot yoga I honestly think that the longer you hold a pose the better of a work out anyway. Simply amazing and I've been to multiple of the teachers classes and my favorite would be Karen! She is super helpful. Everyone else does a good job also. read more

Beautiful Studio, wonderful class offerings. Went back and tried them again. Sadly, they cram in too many students - I'm guessing as many as will register - in to each class, you can barely do a corpse pose without laying hands on the person next to you. Our mats were inches apart. Certainly no room for a decent stretch or warrior without hitting someone. read more

I have been a regular student at Three Trees Yoga since 2007 when I discovered I had breast cancer. I felt embraced, listened to, supported and respected as I navigated my health crisis. I also was dealing with significant challenges with my son's autism diagnosis. Three Trees Yoga is a sanctuary to me that I can come and go to and ALWAYS feel embraced and welcomed. The classes are authentic, build community, reflect the times and are grounded in education and knowledge. The staff and owners are committed to a rich, individualized yoga practice for their members. Because of my desire to know much more about yoga and allow me the tools to keep connecting with a diverse population that I am privileged to work with, I am currently in their 200 hour Yoga Teacher Training. The community/family that has grown out of our group of instructors from all walks of life, different ages and goals, is remarkable. I will keep these friends long after our training is over. Besides that, the depth of study (anatomy, philosophy, asana, tradition, etc.) is extensive. I know I will complete my training equipped to instruct in a solid, compassionate, safe and authentic way. Three Trees Yoga was my first yoga home and it will always be my yoga home even though I now live in Asia. I first learned yoga at Three Trees and am so grateful I did. The hatha practice is Iyengar based, which for me was a wonderful way to be introduced to Asana - with a detailed mindfulnessl of alignment. What I love about Three Trees is it offers other styles of yoga as well - kundalini, yin, vinyasa, and different levels of the hatha practice. I tried them all and for the first two years that I developed my practice there, I would regularly take classes 4-6 times a week. The 3 month pass is a great deal because with how often I went to class, I was paying about $2-3 for each. My favorite classes are Janice's vinyasa and yin, and I love Suzy's Rise and Shine - a great way to wake up and start your day. I practiced there from 2007-2009 and all the owners knew everyone by name, it was a wonderful community that they established and grew. Really, it felt like home to me. read more

I have tried many other Yoga studios in the past and Three Trees is by far the best. They are not only very patient and friendly, but they will spend extra time to make modifications for anyone who has physical limitations. They are willing to work with everyone to find a class that best suits each individuals needs. My 2 kids have also taken their Kids Yoga classes and have really enjoyed them. I have also attended one of their 3 day Yoga retreats and had an amazing time. There is a very strong sense of community at the studio that stems from the three owners. I highly recommend the studio to anyone who is interested in practicing yoga. read more
