The instructors, especially Serena and Derek, have been incredibly supportive in helping me modify my practice so I can still get a great workout without aggravating a shoulder injury. Right now, I mostly stick to the Hatha yoga classes, but I'm really excited to explore the Pilates and fitness classes once my shoulder heals. What I love most is that the studio truly welcomes all shapes, sizes, ages, and ability levels--it feels like such a safe and inclusive space. Derek even often cues special modifications during class, saying things like, "Friends with shoulder injuries might..." which makes me feel seen and supported. This studio is not just about yoga, it's about community, care, and growth. Highly recommend!

The Vibe: I Got You I walked into Be Yoga after a FULL…read moreweekend: New places. New people. New studios. Lots of movement. And then... Be. Cat greeted me at the front desk with a huge smile. "First time?" Yes. "Welcome!" She gave me a mini tour. Handed me a complimentary mat. Sent me toward the warm room. Already, I could feel the pace changing. The Guide: Julia * Be Flow We began seated. Gentle head rolls. Easy movement. Nothing hurried. Julia gradually brought us into a low-to-the-ground flow: Cheetah. One-Legged Upward-Facing Dog. Wild Thing. The room was cozy warm rather than hot. And after a weekend filled with movement, cozy warm felt exactly right. The practice gradually opened. Julia offered options for Bird of Paradise. Then Flying Pigeon. Challenges offered. Choices given. And then, somehow... class was over. Too soon. So I walked back to the front desk. "I'd love to stay for Be Still." But... The ClassPass window had already closed. Cat barely hesitated. They were offering a complimentary class. She had me. Just like that... I was back in. The Return: Be Still Back into the warm room. Back onto the mat. Back toward the ground. This time, even less to do. Julia guided us into long, supported shapes. In Deer Pose, we lowered onto bolsters. Drop. Allow. Each pose removed another layer of effort. Soften. Loosen. Deepen. Before Savasana, Julia offered one final shape: Blocks supporting the neck and head. The throat opened. The front of the body softened. And then... Savasana. Just... Be Still. The Tribe Sometimes you learn what a studio values before anyone tells you. A huge smile when you walk in. A complimentary mat when you don't have one. And when you want to stay... they make it easy. Small things. Except they aren't. Space & Place Be Yoga is beautiful: Warm wood. Soft green. Natural light. Enormous windows. Little details everywhere. The Shift I arrived after a weekend of doing: Driving. Exploring. Meeting. Moving. Flowing. I walked into a studio called Be Yoga. Took Be Flow. Stayed for Be Still. Field Note: Sometimes being is simply letting this moment be enough.

Yay first review! :)…read more So my fiance convinced me to try yoga with him for his first time.. shocking isn't it?? For a guy who loves to work out everyday at the gym, he was curious on trying yoga out. I've done yoga before but really haven't been maintaining it for a while.. normally I would do pilates which is somewhat similar.. so I agreed. He looked up a nearby yoga studio and came up with Momentum Yoga. He signed us up right away for the new member special which was 5 classes total in a month for only $20! You really can't beat that! The instructor, Tiffany is a great person to learn from. She definitely went with our pace (as it was a small class so she was able to pay close attention to each person) and helped us along with certain poses that were difficult. I swear my posture was better for the next few weeks. :) Watching my fiance do yoga was the highlight but he definitely tried and I was proud of him esp when he was the only guy there. haha... Our classes are over but I would definitely recommend Tiffany! She is awesome. :)

Matt and Cherene are experts and mighty fine people to boot. They teach Iyengar yoga, which teaches you how to use perfect alignment in yoga poses. Now, I know that many people who do yoga think of Iyengar as being a boring beginners yoga. Maybe in some studios, but not here. They do have a beginners class, which I started off doing. It was a totally non-threatening, safe, supportive environment, and I learned to do the basics the right way. Then I progressed to more advanced poses - very challenging! Class sizes are small. It's very much a community, but not one that excludes newcomers. Most of the people who go there are North Bend locals. They are very friendly people, and I never once felt judgment or competition. Likewise, Matt and Cherene are very welcoming. If this is your first time doing yoga, don't be scared. You will be in good hands. If you've been doing it for years, you'll have a lot to learn from them. Read their website for more info about their training. It's very impressive. I am indebted to Matt and Cherene for the guidance, knowledge, and support they have given me. I'm moving to Oregon in a few weeks, but I will come visit whenever I can. Thank you!

Without question, Matt Queen is the best yoga instructor we have ever encountered. I never thought of myself as the kind of person who does any kind of fitness classes, but here I am showing up and having lots of fun! The class size is fairly small, which is great because each of us gets personal attention. We spend quite a bit of time experimenting with the poses and props to find what works for our specific bodies. As a plus size woman, this is really important to me, because my body simply doesn't move the same way a smaller person's body would. Saralyn's teaching style is a great match for this type of class because she's not afraid to be vulnerable herself. She sometimes refers to notes, she can't magically do every pose known to man, and she uses props herself in many poses. Those small things make me feel a lot more comfortable not being particularly "good" at this myself. In each class we take a bit of time to check in with our bodies, and she helps keep us centered and present within our bodies throughout the class. I never feel like my bigger body is a problem for her, and it's clear that she's genuinely interested in how my body moves and the modifications that might make a pose work for me. In fact, last week I *finally* was able to do child's pose in a way that felt good and opened up my hips a bit for the first time, using some props and Saralyn's guidance. I also did a teeny tiny backbend for the first time, which is something I never thought my body would be able to do. Overall, I highly recommend YogaFamily's mind and body positive class and am excited to try some of their other classes as well.
