A friend told me about the Groupon deal (which was about $70/month for unlimited classes), so I decided to try it out. Dustin, Jake, Jeremy, Rae, and many other instructors have helped me so much in learning all the right technique and encouraging me to never give up. All the members are so friendly and motivating. Many of the members would come up to me and introduce themselves even after a sweaty and tough workout. Everyone is so encouraging, which makes me give my 100% every WOD. CrossFit is definitely a good workout when you want to get sweaty in less than an hour. It incorporates both strength training and cardio, which is perfect for me. And they have some good pump-up music which is a plus :) I love the environment here, and I will miss everyone who has been part of my CrossFit journey.

I've been away for awhile and it was hard getting back into it but I already feel mentally and physically well. The gym is very nice and everyone is very welcoming and supportive which makes things a lot easier. Having a group come together to be so supportive and help you stay on track is what makes a difference between a good box and one that's not so great. I've have been to a few which were not as welcoming and unnessairly competitive in the wrong way but if you're looking for a good one with a great community then you should definitely try this one out. Case in point, on day one the owner diagnose an issue that I was having with my form for one of the Olympic, weightlifting movements, which another gym in the areas coaches hadn't noticed for seven months, and had led to an injury. Day one Joe diagnosed the problem and it was fixed without me even asking!There are two sides of the gym, dedicated for electric weightlifting on one side, and the other side, high intensity, interval training. This shit is easily accessible, clean, and has easy parking. It is not a globo gym, nor is it simply an iron fitness. There is space for what you need if it's a casino workout, or you're dropping in for open gym or individual weightlifting session. Coaches run classes on time, one hour, which is not the experience that I have had other community style gyms in the past in the area. American flag over the door, attentive coaches and community, never asking for reviews online (a great plus!), accessible in ten minutes or less from JBLM, Lakewood, all the way up to Ruston. Also, the personal training is really expensive and doesn't roll over, which is really awful, because everyone has lives and responsibilities and sometimes the gym and personal life clashes. I don't think it's fair to punish people who have a harder time scheduling sessions to lose out on a lot of money. It's turning into a cash grab in my opinion, and I will miss the community I loved so much.

Marcus (head coach) looks out for his athletes and knows when to push his athletes or when to pull back to teach. He tailors his coaching to the individual's needs and takes his time so you don't feel rushed. The gym is spacious, clean, and organized. There's enough barbells and weights to go around. I have been a member of this community since it opened. I've only considered canceling my…read moremembership one other time when they had the Caroline crew, but this new crew they've hired has really soured my whole experience. Hotworx was my favorite place to go for stress relief, detoxing, alone time after work and weekend peace. Now, I have to make myself go because I am paying for the membership and feel guilty if I don't go. It all has to do with the staff. I'm completely surprised by the way the owners have allowed this new manager to create social media with her tatas out every time she posts something. The content she puts out is just distasteful and her husband in every video- it's very off putting and not "on brand". It reflects poorly on the company. The other young man is social awkward and I don't feel comfortable with him. He doesn't know how to interact with people, he bombards new signees the minute they walk out of the sauna, right in the middle of the isle and immediately asks what membership they want? What a turn off! Yet, if he is close to his lunch hour or it's too soon to closing time and someone new wants to sign up, he tells them he's off and to come back tomorrow. I, personally, have never felt comfortable with him being there if I'm alone at the studio because of his awkward presence, lack of knowledge and social skills. I don't know how a business has gone through so many different employees in such a short period. Additionally, this new staff doesn't seem to have the work ethic to clean and maintain the same level of sanitation that the previous staff has always done. I've only seen them sit or stand at the front desk. I've had to clean broken toenails out of my sauna AND I had left my sweater in a cubby for a week and no one had noticed it!
