Let me start this by saying I've been getting ice cream here for my entire adult life and I've been singing their praises the whole time, so it genuinely hurts me to write them a bad review but it feels necessary. I've had random garbage in my ice cream twice in a row; first, my nephew ordered the purple cow and found gum (we had already walked away and he insisted he didn't want more, so we just threw it away) and just tonight I found a napkin in my kulfi scoop. It wasn't just on top, it was a full sized napkin swirled into the ice cream. When I asked them to replace it, the person running the food to the window was very apologetic, but when he mentioned what happened to the person behind the counter she said "seriously??" more than loud enough for me to hear. I understand it's mostly college kids working here, but finding things in my food repeatedly is unacceptable. I am very sorry to say I won't be eating here again until I can be confident I won't find literal trash in my food!! Really hoping they figure this problem out because their ice cream has always been my favorite in providence. read more

Came here to satisfy my husband's malt craving and was not disappointing. He had the dirty garden mint malt and absolutely loved it. One of the best things about it was the fresh mint flavor rather than the typical artificial mint flavor. I had a sundae with cookie dough and Grandma's Goodies (vanilla with cookies, brownies and blondies) topped with hot fudge and choclate chips. It was delicious. The staff was super friendly and entertained our questions, even offering my husband a sample. Prices are a little high but very typical of what you expect from an ice cream shop that makes homemade ice cream. They definitely had some unique flavors. We are excited to come back for some breakfast as well. I highly recommend stopping in and giving them a try! Hope Street has some great shops and restaurants to make a nice little day. read more

I am a huge fan of Three Sisters. I've been there countless times in the two years since I moved to this area of Providence. I typically get breakfast after my running club meets. My go-to is the Breakfast Burrito which is pretty cheap and filling. I've also gotten the Rise & Shine meal more times than I can count (I preferred it when it was slightly more expensive and came with a cup of coffee). The omelets are delicious. My favorite is the Mitch Dubert which has cream cheese and hot peppers among other ingredients, add hot peppers to eggs and i'm a happy person. The paninis are very good for lunch also. I love the ice cream at any time of day or year. The khulfi flavor is my favorite and this is the only place I've found such a tasty combination of flavors. I also love the dirty garden mint and will usually get a cone with two flavors so I can have a standby favorite and something new. The curried apple they had one season was amazing and I hope it comes back. I liked the service better before the renovation. I feel like everything takes a little longer now and it's weird, but I'd prefer to bus my own table in a place like this. read more

Three Sisters is hands down the best place to spend a morning or afternoon after a long night out. This place can be crazy busy on weekends, but it's definitely worth the little bit of wait. Everyone who works here is amazingly friendly and treats everyone like family. My go to is definitely the breakfast burrito, with bacon of course, and a side of delicious homefries. The smoothies are also great, and you can make your own smoothie for the same price as one that is listed. I briefly worked here over the summer, and I'm really excited that I can now write a review as a customer. They serve breakfast until 2 pm, which is amazing for us late sleepers who don't like to leave the house before noon. They also have lunch and dinner, as well as beer and wine after 3 pm I believe. Come for breakfast, stay for an ice cream, then grab a beer. Can't think of a better way to spend the afternoon. I can't believe I used to go to dunkin for coffee and a quick take out breakfast sandwich when this place was next door the whole time. They have REAL coffee and awesome food! I went here for breakfast one morning, and was blown away and overwhelmed by the menu selection. They have oh so many different kinds of omelettes, egg sandwiches, french toast, pancakes, etc. Thank goodness it was too early to consider lunch items also. I decided on a breakfast burrito and it was really tasty. I tasted my mom's omelette and it was great. Sometimes the vegetables in omelettes tend to get overcooked and greasy, but the spinach was actually recognizable and FRESH. Everything was delicious--really high quality. The syrup they use is real maple syrup! Nothing bad to say about Three Sisters. The price is right, the selection is great, and it's a damn good breakfast. I took one star off for not enough seating--at 9:30 am on a Saturday the place was filled! Oh, and try the home fries. They're awesome. read more

I am a big fan of Three Sisters for ice cream. It is right across Lippit Park on the East Side. Getting a cone and going on a walk is a perfect combination. When you walk in, the ice cream flavors are on the left hand side. They have a large variety of hard ice creams. My favorite is the Kentucky Bourbon Cappacunio. The brownie bits are so tasty and you can taste a hint of Evan Williams in the mix. I also tired the Dirty Mint as well on one occassion. It is very refreshing and the little bits of crunchy chocolate makes the ice cream fun to eat. There was only one flavor of soft serve available, so if you are watching your waistline, this might not be the place for you. My friends and I also had sandwiches while we were there. The price was a little high for me. Over $7 dollars for a grilled cheese on rye is a little steep, but the side salad was crisp and fresh. The house made raspberry vinegarette is really tasty. I reccomend this place more for ice cream than for food, but nonetheless, it is quaint and local with great service. What more could you want in a place! read more

These ice cream cones would be illegal if you fitted pasties to them. No they wouldn't. Soft, thick, almost nougat-like chewy ice cream that will melt if you just look at it. I can't fathom how people can get a proper workout on Blackstone without squandering their miserable efforts here at Three Sisters, planted squarely at the business end of the boulevard. Yeah, this used to be Maximillian's but that's just the Rhody in me. Three Sisters had a rocky start, and most days it's a bit of a squeeze in there, but I've watched them slowly but surely tighten up their menu offerings. Not that I'm there for anything but frozen dairy, mind you. Garden Mint, Tennessee Whisky Cake, Belgian Chocolate, Raspberry Sorbet...well this is just the tip of the ice cream berg. My first time at Three Sisters after a stroll on the boulevard and I was pleasantly surprised! Now that I'm always lugging the baby, I really enjoy places like this that you can order, pay, seat yourself and kind of be left alone to juggle drinking your coffee, feeding the baby and leaving at that crucial moment before things get real. Three Sisters is the perfect place to reward yourself with a tasty treat after walking up/down the Blackstone Path on a hot day. We stopped in here recently and got a couple of shakes. Service was a tad slow for some reason, but the shakes were delicious. Note: mixing Mexican chocolate and banana is an epic combination! The Kulfi ice cream also makes for a great shake. Three Sisters is reasonably priced, casual, eclectic and delicious. You order at the register, then can either take your food to go or eat-in. I've brought friends for a quick and yummy panini, and my husband and I will often stop in for a burger for dinner. It's the homemade ice cream that brings me back time and again. I consider myself an ice cream connoisseur, and this is some of the best I've ever had. They have some unique flavors (like fluffer nutter) and make kick-ass drinks and sundaes (the Freester - ice cream blended with coffee - is life-changing). Mmmm delicious ice cream! This little shop has a rustic feel and some beautiful art hanging on the walls! I had a great discussion with lady in the shop about the abstract art that they were currently exhibiting in the store. Great place for a little date or get together with friends! Their ice cream is also fantastic! They let you sample a variety of flavors - also with a metal spoon(points for environmentally friendly)! 6/16/20: I went to Three sisters to order breakfast. My order was given to another women (I wasn't upset about it, mistakes happen). What had upset me was when the employee tried handing me the food that was returned. The women admitted that she did open the food. The employee felt it was ok to hand this to me. I didn't accept it and asked to have my order redone. Due to the pandemic I think it's extremely IMPORTANT to practice health SAFETY. I had breakfast here while I was waiting for my car to get inspected next door. This is a casual sit-down place with decent food, good prices and top notch service. I just had basic bacon, eggs and homefries, but the rest of the menu looked quite tasty. I'd totally come here again if I was in the neighborhood and wanted a quick bite for breakfast or lunch. Based only on the ice cream - wow! I can't even talk to talk to people while eating this (homemade) ice cream because I can't bear to be distracted from it. The flavor! The creaminess! The soft, drippiness! Love the green tea and cherry vanilla with huge chunks of black cherries. Usually I think a pint of Haagen Dazs from the grocery store does better than most ice cream joints, but Three Sisters is totally worth the trip. I wasn't impressed that the child companion with whom I was ice-creaming discovered that her scoops of Oreo were only resting atop the wafer cone, not smushed into the cone for that squishy cone goodness, but I'll take that as a slip and keep the 5-stars for the awesome ice cream. read more

I've never been to a cafe where I can say that I've had a fantastic breakfast, great cup of coffee and a spectacular taco platter all in one place. The food at three sisters is so tasty, I literally salivate on the walk down Blackstone Blvd. on my way there. The menu is huge, diverse, and has something for everyone. Their breakfast menu has a plethora of omelettes, egg sandwiches, pancakes and other sweet things, and oatmeal/power bowls. Everything sounds so good, it is always hard to make a decision (especially if you haven't had that first cup of coffee yet). For lunch and dinner there are another million choices including sandwiches, salads, soup, and some damn good tacos. If you get the tacos (which you reallly should), they are delicious and come with a small bowl of nachos with black beans. I can't wait to go back and try some of their amazing sounding paninis and other sandwiches that are made with creative combinations of ingredients, meats and cheeses. The coffee and tea are quite good as well. They serve New Harvest which is always a huge bonus in my book. They also use coffee cubes, which is another bonus as it keeps your coffee from getting watered down. The chai is also good as well. Now, I haven't tried the ice cream yet. I know, I know. I'll get right on it once the weather gets a little warmer, as the flavors are plentiful, creative, and drool worthy. I will defnitely be back to this place again and again, despite the large crowds and limited seating at times. read more

I've only ever had the ice cream but it is some of my favorite for sure. They have the best Green Tea ice cream around and I've started splitting it with a scoop of Kulfi which makes for the perfect flavor combo. One thing worth noting is that the portions vary greatly! The Micro has varied anywhere between a 2 bite scoop (more like a sample tasting) to a full scoop that takes 15 minutes to finish. Such fantastic ice cream! They do the classics incredibly well and make some delicious, funky flavors. The "freester" - a blend of iced coffee and ice cream of your choosing - is a refreshing treat. The sorbet is also a great dairy-free alternative. They have a fairly large seating area inside and some tables outside or you can enjoy your treats in Lippitt Park! The parking lot behind is a little difficult to navigate so parking on the street may be easiest if you can find a spot. read more

I kinda wish I hadn't gone into Three Sisters because now I want it all the time! My first trip was a couple weeks ago for breakfast with my sister who happens to live a couple blocks away. When you walk in it can be a little confusing as to where you order or pick up your food from. The first area is where you stand in line and order from 1 or 2 employees behind a computer. They have menus on a small table in the center of the room as well as many drink and ice cream options on boards across the wall. After ordering our food we walked over to the second area which has seating. We sat down and waited for our names to be called. The cooks/runners call your name and then bring your meal over to your table. I ordered a simple breakfast of eggs, bacon, toast and home fries and my sister ordered a breakfast sandwich on a croissant. Everything was really tasty and perfectly executed. I ordered my bacon well done and was presented with perfect crispy strips (that at the moment are haunting me and making my mouth water). My sisters sandwich was very generously sized and after stealing a bite or two I declared it delicious. I was so happy with the home fries and the fluffy eggs. My sister also ordered a chocolate coconut milkshake with her breakfast and it was so delicious. Really chocolatey with just a hint of coconut. I enjoyed my sisters milkshake so much that on Father's Day this past weekend I basically forced my father to drive us to get after dinner shakes. I got the cookies and cream and was very very happy with it. My sister got the Almond Joy shake which tasted good but texture wise I didn't enjoy it (it has shredded coconut floating in it, I'm not a fan of chewing a milkshake personally). Prices are competitive. Breakfast is very well priced whereas a large milkshake will run you $7.50 (worth it but I wouldn't complain if that price dropped a little). But the tong does not care what it looked like, so you will have to look to others for their opinion. But for the ice cream, I can comment. This stuff is great. It is fresh and homemade. I had their chocolate mint garden, or something to that effect. It is vanilla ice cream, chocolate bark rolled and the chunked than mixed in, then..... they take mint leaves that they grow, extract the essence and add it to the mix. Now, my wife did not like it, but I loved it, both for the same reason. Because it is the real deal, it has an earthy tone. I would not buy this in the store, but from this place, 7 days a week and twice on Sunday. As for the rest of the family, they had the Oreo (mint and regular) Booth loved it as well. So at this point, I have to agree, this is the best Ice Cream in Providence. read more

I ordered the Southwestern Omelette (cheddar, tortillas, pico de gallo, sour cream, avocado) made with egg whites only at their hustlin' and bustlin' counter. I then grabbed a seat outside and sipped on my iced coffee while I waited for my order. Their coffee flavors are a little stronger than I expected - and it doesn't get watered down because their ice cubes are made of coffee NOT water (which clever sister thought that up!?). I thought breakfast was great, especially the freshly made home fries. For a pretty self-service place, I was surprised they brought our meals outside to us. I did have to go back inside and GMOK (Grab My Own Ketchup). I highly recommend this breakfast spot! read more

Fresh, homemade ice cream in an adorable location. What could be better? My husband is a huge ice cream fan, as do I, but he's a tougher critic when it comes to the homemade part. We both agree this is some of the best ice cream we have ever had. The flavors are good and cover a very wide variety of palates (Khulfi is awesome, as is the Mexican Chocolate). The servings are VERY generous (we usually get a small apiece because a two scooper is way too much). Location is perfect, too. You are right at Lippitt park so we usually take the dogs, grab ice cream, and head to the park for a walk. This is a dog friendly establishment, too, so you can hang out at the tables in front while you savor your ice cream. It is our go to place for when we both would like to enjoy a nice dessert out. read more
