Sunshine Creamery continues to be a family favorite ice cream spot for us. Nothing fancy here, just good quality, tasty treats to enjoy in a relaxed environment. They post their weekly sundae specials on their social media so follow along for the most up to date options available.

Run, don't walk! This neighborhood gem is whipping up some seriously delicious homemade ice cream. Owned and operated by a local dairy in Johnston, RI - everything here is fresh and made with lots of love. If you're not sure what to order, we recommend one of their sundaes which is sky high with ice cream, sauces and the creamiest whipped cream!! The staff are always so friendly and there is lots of outdoor seating and off street parking.

Stopped by for a quick cone today. Got a small cone with black raspberry chocolate chip yogurt and heathbar yogurt. Delicious! Didnt even seem like I was eating yogurt! The worker was super pleasant. Plenty of parking and some outside tables.

Was very excited to try this ice cream shop out! I didn't feel up to my usual sundae, and asked if they had milkshakes. Forgot that in Rhode Island they call milkshakes "frappes". Ordered my vanilla frappe and upon getting it, I saw how liquidy it looked. They gave me a boba tea straw with it which seemed odd, but made sense because milkshakes are usually thick. It took me a second to fit the straw in the cup because the cup wasn't made for a boba straw. The first taste was off-putting. It had a weird taste and didn't taste like a regular milkshake. I was a bit disappointed, but will try this place again and see if their ice cream is better. Also they don't take credit cards, so remember to bring cash!

We didn't mind though because it gave us time to go through their massive menu. They have lots of soft and hard flavors, along with sundaes, shakes, and much more. My friend was set on trying their Dubai chocolate ice cream until he saw that it was a massive cup with an overwhelming amount of ice cream and toppings. Since we both decided on their apple pie ice cream, we shared their medium size ($6) to save a couple dollars compared to two smalls. We sat outside, but their tables are far, with very little lighting so it was sad. The apple pie ice cream literally taste like the first bite of vanilla ice cream over a slice of apple pie during thanksgiving dinner, without the cold and hot combo you get with the real experience. This is a seasonal flavor so it only comes around September, but I would highly recommend. I thought their prices were fair and aligned with most ice cream shops.

It was an absolutely beautiful day at the beach and evening so we decided to get coffee at the Gathering Grounds. Then we strolled back to the seating near the Grist Mill and the pond. Grabbed a few outdoor rocking chairs with a little table to rest our coffees on and enjoyed the beautifully manicured seating area watching the ducks, geese and birds while talking away and watching the sun set. To be honest I was kind of wishing I had brought a change of clothing to go into the restaurant but I was in board shorts, Crocs and a rash guard. However, the coffee and atmosphere was the perfect ending to a great day. I highly suggest that you not only enjoy the Old Grist Mill Tavern, Gathering Grounds and Four Echoes Vintage but to enjoy the beautiful property that is well cared for. Take a walk, enjoy the fresh air and the wild life too! I highly recommend the entire experience!

Parking is off street in a lot. Also right next to a little lake or whatever body of water, which makes it serene, in my opinion.

It's a…read moregreat little shop on Hope Street, and if you're already spending time in the neighborhood, it's an easy place to recommend. The hardest part of visiting is deciding what to order. They have a huge selection of flavors, and every time we go in I end up standing there longer than I planned because there are so many tempting choices. It's the kind of problem every ice cream shop should have. The ice cream itself is outstanding. It's fresh, creamy, and packed with flavor without feeling overly heavy. Every flavor we've tried has been excellent, and it's easy to see why this place has developed such a loyal following. In my opinion, it's the best ice cream on the East Side. Just be prepared to wait if you're stopping by on a nice evening. The shop is fairly small inside, and it's not uncommon for the line to stretch right out the front door. Thankfully, the staff keeps things moving, and the wait has always been worth it. The prices are reasonable, especially considering the quality of the ice cream and the generous portions. Parking can be a little hit or miss since it's mostly street parking, although there are a handful of spaces behind the building. Somehow we've been lucky the last few visits and managed to grab a spot right out front, even when there was a long line. The only reason I'm giving four stars instead of five is because the small space and limited parking can make visiting during peak hours a little less convenient. Once you have your ice cream, though, it's hard to complain. If you're looking for fantastic homemade ice cream in Providence, Three Sisters absolutely deserves a visit. Just bring a little patience if you're going on a warm summer evening.

Having a job that has me outside most of the day it is really nice to have a friendly space to stop in and cool off. The menu is drawn onto a chalkboard and does list all the flavors and toppings in each one. I chose the red velvet ice cream sandwich this time which had red velvet ice cream swirled with cream cheese frosting stuffed between two chocolate cookies and partially dipped in white chocolate coated with cookie crumbs. They do tell you to wait about 10 minutes before eating it since they are really frozen, so in that time, my friend and I drove to the pedestrian bridge to eat our ice cream by the river. I wish the cookie could be soft, since it does make biting into a little tricky in the beginning. They had a slightly dark chocolate flavor with a hint of saltiness. The ice cream was really good, but the frosting made it even better. I thought it was the white chocolate dip that was added the additional creamy and sweet goodness but it was the frosting the whole time. I enjoyed everything about this flavor. My friend got the chocolate taco. I am personally not a fan of chocolate ice cream, but it was still decent to me. The toppings of shaved coconut and nuts was tasty.
