We stopped by today during a mini day trip to North Kingstown and were thoroughly impressed! They have a convenient location with ample parking and a variety of flavors to choose from. The staff working the counter were efficient and kind as well, definitely nice to see. I chose the cherry vanilla which was great! I felt the ice cream could have had a little more cherry flavor- it tasted like a sweeter vanilla. But, the consistently itself was outstanding. Very creamy and indulgent. For $12 for a small and kiddie I thought the prices were reasonable and I would definitely come back and try again!

One of my favorite ice cream shops in all of RI, The Inside Scoop never disappoints. This is my usual spot to get ice cream while driving home from the beach, and although the lines may look long, they move along very quickly and are definitely worth the short wait. Service is friendly, portion sizes are large, and the shop just puts me in a cheerful mood. Ice cream is made on site, and it is so delicious. They have a wide variety of flavors, but I usually go with my old stand by: cookie dough. Waffle cones are also made on site and are absolutely perfect! Sometimes house made waffle cones leak out the bottom, but not these! Inside Scoop has many toppings available, and I love that sprinkles are free! One of these days I'll try a parfait - they always look so yummy in the freezer case, but I don't have the patience to let them thaw for the required time before eating. The seating area of outdoor picnic tables is great, and there's even a little free library. There is a parking lot, but sometimes it fills up and I've had no problem parking on the street.
Took a drive out to try the Ice Cream Tacos we had been seeing on Instagram. The staff was friendly, and service was quick. Minimal parking but the flow moves fast it seemed. The menu was big with lots of options and flavors. The Ice Cream Tacos were HUGE! We got the 3pack as we didn't realize how big they were. They were all good but we couldn't finish them. They had a nice outdoor seating area with umbrellas as well.
We were really excited to try out this place and were so glad we did! It's blowing up on social media and is pretty much always busy right up until closing time, and for good reason too. For the line, it was pretty quick and the prices are pretty reasonable for the portion. They have a broad and delicious assortment of flavors, too. Bing cherry was my favorite of the 6 we tried. I'm definitely heading back for an ice cream taco. FYI, parking can be tricky, especially during peak hours.
The Inside Scoop is a cute shop that, based on the line stretching through the parking lot, does a good business. I appreciate that the ice cream is homemade and the portions are generous, but I was disappointed in my scoop of ginger. The ginger flavor was barely detectable, there was no spiciness to it whatsoever, and I was only able to see a few sprinkle-sized pieces of candied ginger. It tasted more like a very creamy vanilla, which was good but not what I was looking for. Also, the ice cream was not very firm and melted quickly. The young staff were friendly and fast, but I probably wouldn't go back.
This was just your ordinary ice cream shop. They did not have an abundant amount of flavors, but they did have decent prices, which is a plus. No inside dining, only outside, lots of bees too lol. Good spot to go if your in the area and want a regular ice cream.
I was totally excited that they finally opened for the season. I ordered a large, soft frozen yogurt swirl with hot fudge. I was shocked as it was handed to me looking like YOGURT SOUP and when I got to my car and started eating it, it was yogurt soup. I don't understand how in LESS than 5 minutes of ordering it, having it handed to me, going to my car, and having to suck this down that it was so soupy. Totally disappointed and it cost $9.45 plus a dollar tip.
The location is well maintained. They have picnic tables outside and ample parking. Only con is that it is on the main road, so getting out can sometimes be a pain. Service is always pleasant at the windows! The ice cream is always good. This year we enjoyed their version of the chocolate taco. And mannnnnnn it was delicious. They have different types of sundaes. I have never gone and been disappointed!

The Inside Scoop was a stop for the 6th Annual Search for the Best Scoop Shop RI with RI Food Fights. There are many flavors to choose from but I chose the bubblegum flavor. I think this may be my first time having bubblegum ice cream. It was ice cream flavored like bubblegum and loaded with colorful gumballs. I was surprised that there was actual gumballs in the ice cream and swallowed them so hopefully I'll be okay. Service was quick and friendly. A lot more people came after we picked up our ice cream and were enjoying it at the picnic tables.

I stopped by The Inside Scoop during the RI Food Fights best scoop RI competition. I was expecting a line, but I was surprised to see the line extended all the way to the street. I originally parked in the small lot on the right (when facing the building) and it was a very tight squeezed, but then realized there was a much larger parking lot on the other side, so I moved over there. It's been a while since I've visited The Inside Scoop. The last time I remember going, you went inside and ordered the ice cream. I'm not sure when they switched to the window, but I found it to be much more convenient than many people being squished inside a small space to order. There were lots of choices of ice cream to try, but I ultimately picked blueberry pie in a sugar cone. It was delicious. My mom picked peppermint (her favorite flavor) and was very happy with how many chunks of candy were in it. The employee that took our order was very friendly and seemed to scoop our ice cream well. Overall, The Inside Scoop is a must-try ice cream spot in this area. read more
I stopped by here after work this week as part of the RI FOOD FIGHTS #bestscoopshopri event. I used to live around the corner, so it was nice to visit here again. The heatwave was doing its thing, but luckily there's a good amount of shade in front of the building as you wait to be served. There's a tiny parking lot to the right of the boldly painted building, but an even bigger one to the left. If you have a larger vehicle, I recommend parking in the left lot. Plenty of space for you there! The young woman at the counter was super peppy and was excited to scoop me her favorite, black raspberry Oreo, on special that week. I grabbed extra napkins because the humidity outside was already working against me. I walked over to the seating area on the side and got to work quickly before nature won. The black raspberry ice cream was cool and creamy, great raspberry flavor without tasting artificial as some do. The oreos adding some chocolatey richness to the experience. It felt indulgent and refreshing. I basically inhaled it so I wouldn't wear it but every bite was fantastic. Inside Scoop has been there for ages, and for good reason. Next time you're in North Kingstown, swing by and try it out for yourself! read more
It's summer and no better time for soft serve! But I'm picky! It has to be creamy deliciousness! The inside scoop was EXACTLY that! We stopped on our way home from the beach. Plenty of parking (street and lot) and tons of people working - so lines were quick and efficient! And most importantly the soft serve was on point! read more

The Inside Scoop is such a delicious shop on Rod Rd in Kingston. Their ice cream was delicious and you can tell that it is homemade. The staff was incredibly friendly and despite a line, they moved quickly to ensure everyone was well cared for. The shop is quaint and well worth the trip! read more

We decided to try this ice cream on our way home. Cute ambiance and friendly staff. We ordered the small ginger ice cream in waffle cone and orange/pineapple. The ginger didn't have a strong ginger flavor and it was waaaay to creamy. Though the small was a pretty good portion. I wished the waffle cones were a bit darker and crisper. Yum yum oh yum!!! For some odd reason, I have never found really creamy "fresh from the cow" ice cream in Rhode Island. That ended when I went to The Inside Scoop. Their ice cream tastes like utters have touched that stuff the very same day. All of their flavors were SO creamy. I got the Cabinet, which I had to google before trying. Apparently, this isn't referring to a storage device inside your kitchen. It's an ice cream concoction local to Rhode Island and Southeastern Massachusetts that consists of coffee ice cream, coffee syrup and milk. Wow - it was such a wonderful treat. I love milkshakes, I love coffee, and I love Rhode Island, so a drink encapsulating all three of these things deserves all the love. Quick tip: Parking can be a bit difficult on a crowded day. There's usually enough spots, but getting in and out of the parking lot isn't for the faint of heart. Another nice surprise: There are non-dairy flavors for the lactose-free ice cream lover! read more

My wife and I had heard about the Inside Scoop's Parfaits, so we treated ourselves to one each - The Classic, and The Oreo. Both were scrumptious, and in a very real sense each was a meal in itself! Master Scooper John describes his parfaits as "A Cake In a Cup" - that's an accurate description. Tip - they are frozen concoctions, so you need to plan ahead and get them at least 15-30 minutes before you plan to eat them. Pick them up on your way to the beach and they'll be ready to enjoy by the time you arrive, if not before (depending upon beach traffic). Highly recommended! read more

Overall, they have good to AMAZING ice cream! Portion sizes are average keep them from getting a 5 Star rating. Lots of flavor choices. I got a large cup of ice cream (3 scoops). Cost just under $6 with tax. I selected 3 different flavors: Black Raspberry (was ok), Maple Walnut (very good), and Butter Crunch (amazingly good). My wife got a regular cup (2 scoops). Cost just under $5 with tax. Her flavor was Coffee Chip (excellent flavor). Service was fast, didn't wait long at all as it was overcast day. Staff was all young girls / ladies who were friendly and professional. Parking can be a challenge. Will definitely go back as they have some AMAZING ice cream flavors. read more
I came here for RI Food Fights, and what a gem! I got the peanut butter Oreo and it was perfect consistency, not too frozen, creamy, great flavor without being overly sweet. The employees were quick and efficient but also nice. And now that I know it's whereabouts, I will definitely stop here post-beach! read more

Best ice cream we had in ages! So many yummy flavors to choose from! The staff was super helpful, getting us samples to try some of the unique flavors! The most popular were the two Oreo flavors - coffee Oreo and peanut butter Oreo. I also got a scoop of the grapenut ice cream - nice texture and had a breakfast cereal type flavor, mixed with vanilla, had never seen this before and was just right, much better than corn flakes cereal I had tried before, the grapenut held their texture and were a mild crunch. The whole place smelled decadent as we entered, as they had a fresh waffle maker and had been making new waffle cones from scratch. I got one of the waffle cones with my scoops, delicious and perfectly made, not even a little drip from the base, experts! The walls indicated a bunch of awards they had and newspaper articles recommending them, all well deserved! We had gone on a nearby cruise on the fast ferry line, this was about 10 minutes drive from the ferry pier. Good amount of free parking and some spots to eat your ice cream in nice weather. It was raining while we were there, so we ate inside while reading the info on the walls and watching folks, a steady business even on a dreary day. Fun spot, very tasty ice cream! They had sooooo many homemade flavors, they had at least 6 freezers, some you could see, some behind the staff, and more downstairs, filled with unique flavors! They had about 4 seasonal flavors on a daily specials board while we were there too. Delicious and recommended! read more

How did I used to live five minutes away from this place yet I've never been? This might be the best ice cream cone I've ever had in Rhode Island, if not ever anywhere! The chocolate dipped waffle cone was one of the biggest coins I've ever had in my life it was literally half the size of my head. The mocha chip and heath bar yogurts were absolutely amazing super creamy and delicious. Did I mention this ice cream cone lasted me all the way to my home in Coventry which is 27 minutes away. The window girl was extremely nice and complementary. This will be my new go to ice cream place from now on. read more
