Amazing service! I will definitely go back. First time going to this place because I saw they were open outside. So glad I did!! I had a pedicure and acrylic fill with gel - best job ever! Very disappointing gel manicure. I believe their products are old. Probably not replenished since before Covid. All of my nails have chipped. Also, please do not book appointments within 30 minutes of closing. My appointment felt rushed, nail tech was rushed. I was passed off from the nail tech who began my manicure to the owner who "finished up". I felt like I had to tip owner too which I had not planned for. I went in about three weeks ago with a friend, she got a pedicure done and I got a pedi and acrylics done. At first I thought oh tile they are taking really file measurements during these times, and didn't mind paying $90 bucks for their service, but they didn't cut my toe nail right, I had an ingrown nail two days later that was hurting so much ! My nail polish started fading after one week, my friends feet have been itchy ever since she went in, while they were doing our pedicures the ladies kept getting up to grab their boba teas with the same gloves they were touching our feet ! The stands they were using to place the buckets for our feet were not being cleaned after but being used to place our feet to dry. Definitely do not recommend anyone coming here during these times of COVID! read more

The staff is super friendly and I felt appreciated as a customer, not rushed and gossipy like many salons I've been to, where they just seem to want your money and for you to leave so they can paint the next 10 fingers/toes. I've been coming to this salon for almost 8 years now. This place is lovely. The three sisters are our neighbors and recognize me and my mom when we come in, and even knew who we were when we have our names on the phone. I've gotten a few gel manicures here... when reading other reviews on the gel manicures I was SHOCKED! People talking about it not lasting long and chipping after 4 days is ridiculous. My gels lasted so long I only had the polish removed because my nails grew out too much! These women are lovely and care about each and every customer deeply and do a wonderful job on both manicures and pedicures. I do recognize that the seating may be less than ideal for some, but the quality of service cannot be beat. I have never had a painful experience nor noticed anything unsanitary. It can get busy but they generally accept walk-ins. Much love to these lovely ladies! read more

I was initially impressed that Angie remembered my name after only going there one time. That to me was a place worth referring to. My gel manicure lasts a solid two weeks and they do incredible designs if you are in to doing those. Not many places provide the level of service and quality that you'll find here!! For the most part, the staff can color within the lines and do a fair job. I have been going there primarily for about 4 years but in August, decided I won't be returning ever again because of the owner's rudeness. I always tipped 20%+, exchanged pleasantries and either read a magazine or spent time browsing on my phone. The owner was rude; plain and simple. Life is too short to put up with the likes of her. I put up with the wheeled chairs, cold water soaks and the fact that the entire room needs a thorough scrubbing. Do the math, the place can afford a janitorial service but would prefer you to sit in their dirty salon. Those that say this place is clean should see an eye doctor. Went here to get my dip powder nails taken off. They did not have the right equipment to do this and instead, very roughly, filed my nails. This ended up cutting several of my fingers near the cuticle area, resulting in bleeding. She wanted to cut my nails and they are natural and very long. I explicitly asked her and showed her how to cut my nails ABOVE where my skin had grown on my nail. She said "I know" and brushed me off. She was again very rough cutting my nails and cut me pretty deep on my thumb nail. It bled the entire time I was there. I told her that my nail tech usually soaks my nails and then proceeds to take the polish off. She said "I know" in an extremely rude tone. She put the acetone on and wrapped my fingers up, and waited 2 minutes before trying to take the polish off. As she took one off, I said that I usually have them soak for longer and then we wipe them off. She again said "I know" very rudely. She tried to rip one off and I said it hurt so she went to another customer and passed me on to someone else. The next lady was nicer, but did not listen. We looked at the cut and she put medicine on it. She did not take the polish off correctly either. They used a cuticle cutter to chip away at the polish. I went out to get these taken off to NOT ruin my nails; however, I could've done this much nicer to myself at home! My nails looked horrible, but I prefer filing and taking care of them anyway, so I asked what the price was and she did not tell me, but insisted I stay because "she could make them look better than I would". At this point I didn't care at all what they looked like. She filed and buffed each nail slowly. I told her I had class soon and she still did not stop. I told her I would do this at home and to please not touch my bleeding finger. She did not listen and they both ladies felt so bad that they only charged me $10.... how sweet of them. I went home and took a great deal of care to my nail that is still sore. Never going here again. read more

Again, another "should be 2.5 star" review. Didn't hate it, but also definitely didn't love it. It was nice they were able to squeeze me in at the last minute on a Wednesday night, but I felt like the pedicurist was scowling at me the whole time. Not exactly relaxing! They also don't have spa chairs, which I didn't know before I went. I was MEGA disappointed when I walked in and found out that I'd be sitting in something that resembled a leatherette desk chair and have my feet in a "spa" bucket-thing. This place is the bomb!!! I have been a regular for a few years after going to just about every other nail salon in Marin. It's like "Cheers"--they always know your name, and when I hadn't called to made an appointment because I had been so busy, Angie called me to see if anything was wrong---talk about great service!!! She got me in the next day. Sometimes I call at the last minute, which I know is rude (bad me!) but they are always friendly and get me in. I have gel on both fingers and toes and it holds up so well. If there's a problem and there are bound to be from time-to-time, they are on it right away. Don't hate it, don't love it. I like my nails filed short but short to the point where my sensitive nail beds are exposed and on the brink of bleeding? Eh, not wild about that. Also, both times I've gone the girl who did my nails left them... crooked? Lopsided? I'm not sure what was going on there. Angie, Lily, and Lori deserve 5 stars. I have been going to them for the past 12 years and I have never experience anything less than their best. OK, Gabrielle H., their chairs are not the big comfy pedicure chairs. In fact, they're just some managerial chairs that you can buy in an office supply store. But when you have been going to these women as long as I have and have seen how hard they have worked and the relationships they have made with their clients, it amazes me. They remember everything about you. Down to your favorite color. My suggestion to anyone who goes to Three Sisters Nails: Stick with them. Had a great experience. Found 3 sisters on yelp.. Looking to get my nails done in San Rafael. Don't live here but frequently come to visit. I called and was able to get in within the hour! Great! This is not the new, fancily decorated, cool nail shop but better yet a "retro" nail shop. Meaning the place does acrylic nails, which I haven't seen in ages, the decor was nothing to write home about and I was definitely the youngest person there. I got a mani/pedi and both of the young ladies that worked on me were sweet and did a great job. I am quite picky about my manicure and it was to my satisfaction! My toes looked great, too! I will definitely come back because I would rather go to a "retro" nail shop where they do a great job as opposed to a place that is decorated well and does a crappy job! read more

They have a nice color selection, tons of different colors not the same color of different shades! They are super easy to find but parking can be a challenge last minute so plan ahead for that. read more

This is such a great nail place, it is super super busy on the weekends but they will always try to ft you in. Angie (head sister) answers the calls and mans the schedule book so befriend her. I have gone here for about a year bi-weekly and my feet are so soft and look fantastic. I went the entire time I was pregnant and the ladies laughed each time I came in and would comment on the growth I had made. During the last few months one of the ladies would massage my feet and it was so nice, she gave me extra time with the massages and while it was tough since I am a bit ticklish it was so sweet. I have been going here for years now. I used to go with my mom and now I still go there. These ladies do a great job and always have lots of gossip magazines to read. The owners are really sweet and always remember me and greet me when I come in, even if it has been a while. The price is perfect and they also have a lot of colors to choose from. I have really small nails and I am always happy with their paint job. Also, the manicure lasts a lot longer then other places have. One time, I smeared my nails and I called to ask if they could repaint my nails and they said absolutely and didn't charge me. I always have a good experience here. I'm constantly searching for a good nail salon I can become a regular at but it's proving to be a tough chore. I've gone to places where the customer service was bad, they didn't do a good job, they were rough, they added the tip themselves, they didn't seem to do thorough sanitizing, where I ended up with some kind of rash, etc. So I did some research and decided to try this place out based on the reviews here and because they do not use spa chairs for their pedicures. Also, they seemed pretty reasonably priced for the area. I got a mani-pedi on my first visit and was pretty happy with the job they did on my nails. I also was pleased how I did not have to wait past my appointment time to be helped. The second visit was not as good. I waited about 10-15 minutes past my appointment time to be seated at a station. The person who led me to the station turned the tub on and immediately walked away. When I put my feet in, the water was too hot yet no one was available to help me out. Finally someone walked by and I told that person I wanted the water to be cooler. He walked off without saying a word so I did not know if I was going to be helped or not, but another person did come by who put some cool water into the tub. However, she barely said a word to me either. 15-20 minutes after being seated, someone finally started working on my pedicure. Another person for whatever reason ended up finishing the pedicure toward the very end. I was feeling like I just received 2-star service when one of the owners, Angie, apologized for the wait and gave me an explanation for it. I will add that on both of my visits I came after 5:00 on a weekeday which I'm sure is the busiest time of day for any nail salon. She seems really friendly and I liked her when I first contacted the salon by phone so for that I can give this place 3 stars. Plus, it seems clean and the work that they do is good, so I would consider coming back to this place and giving them another try. I must say that I do feel out of place when I go here. Everyone seems to be a regular and I never see anyone but myself checking in to be helped. They all just sit down in the waiting area to be called. I have never gone to a place where regulars do not check in so I don't know how the whole system quite works here. Getting stuck by the door for my pedi --- awful. Oh, and that little fan sitting on the floor to dry my polish? My feet turned blue I was so cold. Sooo uncomfortable. Awful. For $32 you get a great manicure/pedicure!! However, this in not a spa-like atmosphere. There are no massage chairs, etc. They do great work and have a super dedicated clientele -- all good signs in my book! Lily, Angie and Lori are locals who take great pride in the business they have developed. Nice selection of nail polish -- OPI and Essie along with others.. I'm not sure what Ashley S. is taking about -- I've never been charged anything but $32 and I've had my nails done by several different employees there. read more

As far as nail places go, this one is pretty amazing. It's not trendy or chi-chi, there's not a champagne cocktail offered... but they do know how to give a solid manicure/pedicure. I treated myself to a manicure & pedicure for my Birthday. My manicure was the worst ever, if I could I would rate it a negative 2. My cuticles look horrible, she didn't even remove all the nail polish, before painting my nails with clear nail polish. I'm being generous by giving it a '2.' Only because one of the owners gave me a great pedicure. I have a singles event/conference at a retreat this weekend and don't have time to get my nails done again. I looked long and hard for a nail salon that did an excellent job. Years ago, in frustration wth the many nail salons I tried and was unhappy with, I took to asking women who had lovely nails where they get them done ~~ soooo many said "Three Sisters Nails" that I tried them ~~ I have never needed to seek another salon again! They are great! This past year they have put effort into making the salon look lovely, new chairs, tables, new curtains, etc...... BUT that is not the reason why I continue to go ~~ it is the terrific job they all do on my nails and my toes ~~ I know I will be well taken care of no matter what. Additionally, going to a business that clearly has such loyal clients and good services makes sense ~~ the prices are reasonable and they continue to expand their services ~~ I now also get my lashes and brows tinted there. It's a pleasure to be a client of Three Sisters, they well deserve my business.
