Friendly, hardworking, considerate, and efficient with heart behind it all. They came in at 7am sharp, ready to work, and it was eight hours of nonstop action. A full crew with trucks, bobcats, shredders moving like a well-oiled machine across our five acres. What felt overwhelming to us became completely manageable in their hands. Clean work. Constant check-ins. Respect for the land. Respect for us. They delivered on every aspect of our plan to clean up after the big snowstorm that turned our property and community upside down. Thanks Joel, Alex and crew!! We were so blessed to have found you and look forward to working with you again!!

Communication was great, they catered to what we needed, and the quote was within our budget! They placed our down trees that were large enough to use as a rustic property boarder along the property lines and had no trouble with adjusting the logs if we asked. I am so pleased with the work I will not call anyone else to do work on the property. They took into account what CalFire would be looking for when they do their inspections also. Alex, Joel, Edgar and the entire crew were experts and respectful of the property. I wholeheartedly recommend them!

They grew to a height of over 40 feet and were starting to decay. I should have dealt with this earlier. I called several tree services and three came, gave me a bid only to walk off the job because the trees were rotting and more than half had hollow trunks. Tony from Acampo showed up, gave me a very competitive bid, showed up to do the work on time and then walked off the job due to trees being too dangerous. But unlike the other companies, he offered me the only other option; to hire a crane, do traffic control (because the only place the crane could work from would be on the busy road next to our house). Of course it was a lot more expensive but what choice did I have? So I accepted and after taking care of the permit for traffic control, reserving the crane and getting the crew together, Tony stated work on time, 30 days later. I was there when the crew showed up; I told my wife that these guys were obviously confident, professional and they all knew their jobs and acted like a well-oiled machine. Everything went according to plan. They started at 6:30 am and soon the crane was lifting sections of trees that were as big as a bus and weighed over a ton carefully over my other trees and fence to the road surface where some of the crew cut it into sections that were fed into the chipper. 4 hours later the clean up was underway. It was a dangerous project. Tony complied quickly when I asked that me and my property be named as an additional insureds on the Acampo Insurance policy and when I asked for confirmation that the crane operator was insured and that all of the crew were covered by worker's compensation insurance. When it was over, I breathed a sigh of relief. The job was handled professionally, no one was hurt and my property was not damaged. Tony had warned me that due the deterioration of the trees, several things could go wrong but his crew was on its toes the whole time and everything was handled well. I have already asked Tony to give me a bid to reduce several other trees on the lot before they reach the same level of deterioration. From the beginning he treated me fairly and I am confident that he will do so again. Based on my experience, I am heartily recommending Acampo to anyone who needs expert tree service regardless of how big or small the job is. Nelson Barry San Francisco June 21, 2023

In January 2023 we had 3 large trees go down in all the storms. We had Acampo out and they quoted…read moreus over $100,000 to remove 3 trees. That's not a typo. Over $100,000. We got quotes from a few other companies and ended up getting all the trees removed for around $20,000 (still a ton of money). I'm well aware of the reality of 'surge pricing' but this is just inexcusable, and it makes me question the ethics of the company. Please beware of price gouging, especially during/after storms, and get several bids.

Both times, they did more than contracted to do...just to do it right, and did not charge a penny more. Their crews are professional, engaging and work their tails off. I watched them all day as they carefully removed quite a bit of large timber. After connecting with the crew to say goodbye, I watched them drive away and went back to the house. I then heard the shredder start up again and looked out the window. The crew drove down my road, noticed some dead branches just off the road that we had forgotten to include. They took the time and effort to grab these and mulch it all. In 2023, where do you find workers and companies that do MORE than you asked for and don't charge you for it. The experience more than made my day and this is one check I am happy to write. When needed, we will see you next time around my friends. We are already planning to use you for some landscaping already. Thanks and see you soon!

The whole project is $2200, after the first day, when he did 1/3 of the job he asked me to pay him $1600 because he had cash flow problem. I gave him $1000 so that he could come back to finish the rest. The second visit, he still did not finish the whole job but he was begging us again for more cash and my husband and I made the mistake of being too kind: we paid him up to $1600. He never came back to finish grinding the rest of stumps. He probably felt the rest of $600 wasn't enough to cover his another trip to finish the stump grinding. At the beginning he was taking our calls, saying November was too busy for him, and pushed his return to December, and then January. Then he never answers or returns out call anymore. I should have known better, if he was really four generations of business and really busy with all sorts of project, why would he have any cash flow problem of $1000? I don't really want to put in a lot of my time into this matter because the mistake was on our side too: we were too naive and fell for his crying for cash because his workers were sick and all kinds of other personal reasons. Stupid on our side, but hopefully you don't make the same mistake. We would also appreciate tips to resolve this issue.
