May 23, 2025 | Avalon Catalina Island | After attending the Kendrick Lamar concert, a few short hours later, I boarded a ferry to Catalina Island! Three Palms Avalon Arcade was fun, especially at night when the games really stand out & glow! It was even more fun playing games against a great friend! Hahaha! Game Card: We paid a certain amount of our choice so that we could enjoy playing several games! We also won tickets from being good at several games; I was able to pick a cute prize when I turned in my tickets! Fun! Games: There are a variety of games, including: Shooting basketballs through hoops, Skee Ball, Space Invaders, a mini bowling alley & more! I enjoyed the driving game the most, which is called Crusin' Blast... so much fun!! I can always appreciate an arcade, the thrill and excitement of it all! Hahaha! Overall: It's a fun arcade! Fun little spot in Avalon to take a break and play some classic and modern arcade games. It's not huge, but it has a good mix of air hockey, racing games, claw machines, bowling, and a few throwbacks. Great for kids or just killing time near the beach. This was one of the few places that were open after 8 pm on Friday. I came in and grabbed food which to my surprise was actually pretty good. These were the items I got. Catalina Club Pizza - Thin crust with random types of meat. I enjoyed it and it was satisfying. (4.5/5) Mango Habanero Wings - Crispy and saucy. Loved it and it tasted quite fresh. (4.5/5) Service was mid and didn't feel too welcoming. They don't serve water (water bottle purchasable) but apparently that is normal in Catalina Island. Three Palms is a fun arcade to fill some time while on Catalina Island! They are open until 8pm so I like to come here at the end of the day to wrap up my time on the island. I've been a couple times now and I haven't seen an out of order machine yet, so that is much appreciated, lol! My friend and I have played a few games but Monopoly Arcade is my favorite. You don't often see it at arcades! You play and rack up the tickets in Monopoly, gives me slot machine vibes. They have air hockey (which I am the best player in the world at), bowling, tons of games, and even a section with food like pizza & appetizers. The low value prizes aren't great but it's about the fun, not the rewards right?! LOL! read more

Staff: Nice Quality: I have to say this place is surprisingly awesome. Looks small and unassuming from outside, but is well packed with a lot of great games. Even has a two lane bowling alley in the back but we didn't get to try as they were replacing some wood planks. Value: Really really fair pricing. Unfortunately neither of the machines for game cards had their credit card payment option working. This resulted in us using the only $10 cash we had but it actually lasted a decent amount of time due to the cost of games being fairly low. At the end we grabbed a few toys from the tickets earned. Overall: Totally would return here again. Pro Tip: Bring cash in case the credit card payment option is not working for you. read more

This is a fun place to go to when visiting the island. Is it the best arcade? No. It doesn't compare to arcades in California. But will it suffice on the island? You bet. This is a fun zone for children and adults. Not the most elaborate place; the games are very basic. But hey if you are in the mood for fun games and want to unwind a bit, this is a good place for it. They offer movie theater type food such as pizza, fries etc. To be honest the pizza didn't look half bad. But we had already eaten a full meal before stumbling upon the arcade. Otherwise I definitely would have gone for the "kids food" instead. Lol The arcade was pretty clean. Places to sit and eat outside and inside. Open during pandemic, which was nice we stopped in and played a couple games, then continued browsing the island. When I come back to Catalina Island, I will be hitting this arcade again. OMG! this pizza is amazing! Perfect semi charged crust.. most pizza places mess this very important aspect of a great crispy crust.. Tons of fresh mozzarella. The wife and I shared a 1/2 pepperoni and veggies. As a chef myself I know all about fresh ingredients, this owner must grow his own produce here on the island. As a greater testament, as we sat there for about an hour a lot of the island employees came by for awesome food. This place is in the arcade fun zone so don't dissmis the location. WOW. This place is amazing if you are wanting to have a little fun While having an adult beverage or if your children are on the island with you. Clearly doesn't compare to California arcades. However however for the island it was perfect and everything was clean, up-to-date with getting a card with points being added to the card per game. Not to mention that your adult beverages have a spot at every single game, no need to worry about where you're gonna put your beverage. Unfortunately we saw this place on our last day so we cannot attest to the food that is served here but the drinks were as strong as everywhere else on the island and tasty. This place is located off the main boardwalk on the island and in a shopping complex, employees were extremely nice and inviting. Answered all of the questions that we had. The weather was getting cold and to get away from the rain, we stopped here for about 30 mins. The games are the typical games you see at Chuck E Cheese/Dave and Busters, but just less variety. I can see this place getting too crowded on a weekend. We did the $20 card and that was enough for a few games and for my kid to get a small toy. If you need a break from the sun or rain, this is a decent place for the kids to hang out at. read more

Surprisingly fun! We were killing time before our ferry ride back to Long Beach and stopped in. There are a several arcade games which all seemed reasonably priced. Most were around 4-6 credits. Each credit costs 25 cents and must be loaded onto a card at the prize counter, similar to the Dave and Buster's cash-free experience. There were several video games, but my favorite were the non-video ones like air hockey and the Connect 4 electronic basketball game. We spent around $10 for just the games, had lots of fun, and racked up enough electronic tickets to trade them in for two small prizes. They also have a bowling alley in the back, but it is only two lanes and duckpin style (miniature pins and balls). It costs $5 per game, and you have to pay for a token (separate from the arcade card) at the counter. The business is attached to an eating area with tables, but that is very separate and I didn't see anyone bring food into the arcade area. I would suggest eating somewhere before or after. read more

We found ourselves on Catalina Island with nothing to do. We didn't book a bunch of excursions because the weather was going to be questionable and then found out that everything was either booked or canceled. We couldn't get a tour of the Wrigley Mansion or a ghost tour. Our ferry didn't leave for a few hours. We came across this arcade while wandering around and it was a good place to burn an hour or two. We ended up spending about $30 and the kids (and my wife and I playing air hockey) had a good time. This was our first time visiting Catalina Island. Upon roaming around and discovering the place, we ran into Three Palms. It was exactly what I was looking for. A nice cooled place inside and some tables and chairs outside as well. We elected to sit outside. The inside is nice and clean with a great variety of food to choose from on their menu. They have beer, wine and cocktails as well. I stopped in particularly for a beer while we took a break from walking around. The beer prices are fair, they're friendly and courteous and the food that I saw them pushing out looked pretty good. Next door and part of the establishment is an arcade. My nephews spent some time in there and had a great time. Overall, I'll continue to come back here when visiting the island! read more

Wasted $50. I don't mind spending money on good food but it hurts when you spend that kind of money and the food is cold, bland and worse than employee dining room food (edr). No one at the table finished their food. Fries and calamari greasy and when I told them that I ordered garlic parmesan fries instead of regular fries they just took them in the back and sprinkled parmesan on them. We got a cheese quesadilla, Baja Fish Tacos, Loaded Fries, Black and Blue burger, and a Buffalo Crispy Chicken sandwich. Each item was delicious! The quesadilla came with avocado and crema on top, which my 3 year old would typically love, and he lost it...too much vacation melt down. Look, I know you have a captive audience here but put in some effort to keep your games operational. Came in here with our kid and half the games weren't working. When it came time for our kid to claim his "prizes" for his tickets, a bunch of older kids just kept cutting in line and the person at the counter didn't do anything about it and just helped whoever cut ahead of others. Wouldn't return if at all possible. read more

This review is more so for the employee working today (8/21) around 5pm. We went to the arcade to bowl and needed change. The young girl at the front desk passed me 5 times (we made eye contact) instead of helping, as well as having a conversation with what I'm assuming was a younger sibling instead of helping. She then said nothing about the fact that one lane was down, and the other lane had stopped working multiple times already. Just not happy with the lack of communication. We decided to try the Happy Hour menu. Street tacos (carne asada and chicken) were decent and salsa was not bad. The fish tacos had potential, but were a bit bland and lacked a creme sauce to make it better. The battered fish was actually pretty good, but the addition of what tasted like and looked like a kraft single in the the fish taco was a head scratcher. We then ventured over to the little arcade and played some games. This arcade is kind of small from what I'm used to and several of the games were out of order so we ended up playing several of the same games. After 10 minutes and $7 spent, we won ourselves a nice palm-sized squirt gun! Woo hoo!
