Drink beer here. Do not eat here. The beer selection is outstanding and the quality of the beer is very good. The food menu is tiny, with only 3 burgers to choose from, an oyster salad, fish and chips and a sandwhich. That's it. I ordered the hamburger. It was $12 for a patty, with a tiny strip of lettuce and some homemade ketchup. No onions, no tomato, no other condiments period. It came with a 6 oz coffee cup of fries. That's it!! So for $40 my wife and I can each have a plain dry hamburger, a tiny cup of fries and a beer. That is a total rip off. Another negative is that there is no table service. The counter help take the order on a iPad, which was slow and awkward and create big crowds of people hovering around the counter as each member of every party waits to order. Also every time you want another beer, you have to get up to go get it and then wait 10 minutes for them to bring it to you. My advice to Three Magnets, get some table service and if you are going to charge so much for your food it needs to be loaded up toppings and sides. I am very disappointed. read more

I understand following COVID guidelines but.. not only was it FREEZING inside because they had the doors open and fans over.. you have to place your own order over your cellphone so you never make contact with anyone, I'd be fine with that had they still not expected a tip?! Who the heck doesn't deliver food or drinks to you and expects a tip.. I also ordered my food at 5:30 and at 7 had to cancel my order because others at my table got food while i who ordered first was still waiting. Pretty cool building, we ordered two Mag burgers, pretty good! Fries were a bit hard but still good, service was on the slower side ( as seen from many reviews) but not slow enough to not come back. I really, really want to love this brew pub. The ambiance is exactly what olympia needs, rustic meets hipster, casual meets vaguely sporty, roll up garage doors open to an outdoor patio. The food is interesting and fun (e.g. Blistered Shishito Peppers with edamame and sea salt) the drinks are good (Mezcal Manhattan) Unfortunately: The Service. I wish I could say the service was even hit or miss, but alas, it is always A. Big. Miss. The service, in a word, is pure Olympia. Eventually the servers will bring food 90 minutes after ordering, disappearing and failing to offer to bring more drinks, not wearing bras.... it's the New Cruelty. I've happily moved my rating back up since I've noticed a significant improvement of service! Glad to watch my Sounders play on the 90 inch screen with all my fellow Sounder supporters! It's a great chill place to grab a beer and some shared plates with friends. Service really is hit or miss. When I was there late Saturday night the servers were super on top of it. I know this is a new place but it's owners are already successful restaurateurs here in town, so why they are not listening to the local complaints & why they didn't properly take care of some issues before they even opened is interesting to us. It's not like they are new to the business. (And what is with the "soft opening," that has been going on for months now. I heard comments about that too while I was in line & from other people who had been there.) I really wanted this place to be good, we were excited to try it, even though each person we spoke to weren't happy. We went to judge for ourselves. We went & sat in the restaurant section so we could visit. Turns out it wasn't any better in there. It was super loud. The beer is great, that much they are doing right!! A on that. But the place is WAY too loud, once the food gets cooking the place fills up with the smoke from kitchen & I am NOT a fan of having to stand in a line & place an order for food. No way. I work all day I want to go sit down & be waited on, period. So if they don't change that soon then I won't be back. When a group of us gets together we like to order appetizers, food, & drinks as we go. We might start out with one appetizer, then decide to add some/one later. Then at the end of our meal we decide who will pay for what, or split what. You CAN NOT do that with this method of ordering your food. That is the biggest complain I hear around town, having to stand in line & order their food. The 2nd complaint is noise, too loud, the 3rd is the menu, too small. And I really feel bad for the wait staff, you know all waiters/waitresses make their money on tips, nobody wants to tip when they have to do all the work themselves. What are we tipping for? The menu is very limited, tiny. The food was "eh" & portions small. I am hoping for them to turn around, I will try them again later. I have been to 3 Magnets twice in a week on a Sunday and the positive, good beer and atmosphere. Pork Rinds good but seriously under seasoned. Mac and Cheese...pasta way way way way over cooked. Corn nuts inedible and under seasoned. Mushroom cheese sandwich. ..out of mushrooms. White wine...out of Stock. Watch your bill...charged for the white wine they were out of. Minimum tip for me to do all the work and stand in line 15%. Please add 5 and 10% Hate to leave nothing. We booked The Magnet room for a private event. Due to a wind storm, the power was out but the staff did all the could to make sure that the party could proceed, they provided candles, were able to serve canned/bottled beverages, and someone even played some music on the guitar. Luckily, the food for the party was finished right before the power went out and it was delicious! The beer according to my husband was very good, as was the cider. We ordered a burger and a sandwich - I cannot have gluten so i was excited to see they offered a gluten free bread option! My husband ordered a sandwich which despite the menu description decided to come with mayonnaise, they remade the sandwich no problem after the server inspected the menu and his sandwich to be sure we were "right". The biggest reason for the lack of stars = i ordered a gluten free bun and it was NOT gluten free. I ate half of the burger but was wary because the bread tasted like cake then when his remade sandwich came out the bun looked the same. ... the damage was done. We stopped a passing server who sympathetically said sorry, yes that's a regular bun. I didn't get to finish my 13.00 burger (i think i might have been charged for gfree bun still, I'll need to look at the receipt. But oh well... I'm going to be sick for the next week and we paid over 50 dollars. While I understand taking the risk when eating out, the bread was an option and they made mistakes on both orders. If my allergy was more severe i could have extreme consequences, rather then just being in stomach upset and light hives the next few days. Getting orders correct is very serious. If McDonalds and burgerville have no problem why is a cook at a nice brewery having issues with (not that difficult btw) orders. read more

Easily my worst dining experience that I can remember. My family and I were vacationing in the area and decided to try it on a Wednesday night, so it wasn't overly busy. First off, the ordering system where everyone has to lineup at the bar to order anything is terribly inefficient and outright lazy customer service on the staff's part. This place is supposed to be a full-restaurant, not a fast-food joint last time I checked. The waitress who took our order at the bar and brought out our food gave off a rude and impatient attitude while we ordered, then acted like nothing was wrong with the fact that we had to wait an hour just for one simple salad to arrive to our table. To make things worse, we waited another 45 minutes after that for a small desert to be served. Even without considering the awful service we received, the food was below average and overpriced. The service was downright embarrassing, and from looking at a lot of the other reviews, this seems to be the norm at this establishment. I'd never consider coming back. read more

Came here on a Saturday night and it was packed! Great sign for a newer business. There are two entrances. One for dining and the other for the bar. Went to the bar side and stood in line to order drinks and food. Service was helpful in selecting a taster and food. You have to listen carefully for them to call your name when your beer is up. Not really the most user friendly experience, but I understand why they do it. The beets are very good. I liked the smoke stout and the brown. The food is disappointing. I had the sausage which was decent but nothing to write home about. My wife had the bison burger and it was burnt. Had to return it and the second go around was a little better but undercooked. They have some consistency issues in the kitchen. Our other friends ordered 1 minute before us and received their food right away. 15 minutes of waiting for our food I had to ask where it was. When I went to order the guy behind the counter said "I'll be right back," and went off to start carrying out orders. Are they that understaffed? He finally came back and I ordered the "butcher's salad." He had to be the most unfriendliest person I've seen in a pub. No "hi." No "how's your day?" No "thanks." It was very odd. Anyway, I was disappointed in the salad. First, there was hardly any meat. Maybe it's a gardener's salad? Second, you had to search for the dressing. At first, I didn't think there was any, and I almost took it back up to ask for some. But, after searching around I found a glop halfway down in a corner of the bowl. You've got a lot of potential. The food on your menu is exciting and cutting edge - great to see some real artistry in the Olympia restaurant biz. The space itself is modern and casual. This could be my favorite place to go for drinks and food, but this is not a glowing review. The beer is good, the atmosphere is good, I even think the chef and cooks are good. The service is incredibly slow, like '35 minutes to bring your food at lunchtime' slow. The saving grace here is that the fries were cold, so I assume it was the server's fault. When it was brought up they did have the courtesy of bringing an extra bowl of fresh fries out. Another complaint: the portions are pretty skewed. The oysters are small, and come in 6, while the same price fish and chips is three very well-sized pieces. Hell, the kids fish and chips is two of those pieces and half the price. Few more notes: the soup is served much too hot, and the salmon dip comes with 6 crackers. At best, half of what's needed to clear out the dip. read more

From the outside this looks like a fun place to try but our wait time was so long we never actually tried their food. We arrived, sat down and waited for a server. We got up and walked to the counter to see the chalk board because we didn't have a menu and an employee saw us to give us one. We waited for 10 minutes before someone brought us water and we ordered a drink, then waited another 15 minutes to get the drinks. We were left alone for another 11 minutes before someone checked to see if we were ready to order.....at this point we had enough. We just left. After reading the reviews we learned that your suppose to order at the counter but we didn't see any signs that said we were suppose to order there or guidance on how this establishment worked. Sadly we will not be trying this place again...we ended up at Another brewery downtown and had great customer experience. read more

They have wonderful workers. I love the decorations of the restaurant! There is a beautiful and gorgeous glass art above the bar! I love it! We tried all the tap beer, and I liked all of them! I dined here for the first time. The noise was very loud, so much in fact that we had to leave. The restaurant has walls of concrete, concrete floor, bare ceiling so the noise does not get dampened. They greatly need an acoustic ceiling and sheet rocked walls. Service in my view is lackluster. You must walk from your table then wait in line at a counter to place an order. The menu is overpriced, especially coupled with having to do half the wait staff's job. I understand the cost of starting a new business and I hope they are successful but as long as these conditions are present I don't myself see returning. So I brought me madre here for a late dinner and a couple drinks. Everything was as expected: way too loud on the street side end (impromptu gathering in the banquet room), but we decided it was okay. also, the ordering system caught mom off guard, but we ordered anyways. Mom ordered the gumbo, a glass of white. I ordered a beer and the lamb burger. 10 minutes went by and we were wondering where the drinks were. Alas, POS malfunction according to the waitress. No biggy, they delivered our drinks 2 minutes later. Then we waited another 20 minutes for food to arrive. I have to admit, there was only one waitress for the whole front and it seemed the kitchen was a bit backed up. Easily forgiven. I forgot to mention they ran out of soup, and because of the back up, the waitress comp'd us fish and chips and a beer. And to all the fish and chip naysayers, take a back seat. Absolutely delicious cornmeal, deep fried goodness. The cod was flaky and tender. BEST tartar sauce I've ever had. At the end of our meal, we had a very frank discussion with our waitress regarding the negative reviews on yelp. I explained to her that I own a service oriented business as well, and that when it comes to DB, shallow comments from hipster cornholes, well, water on a ducks back. We discussed too how yelp LOVES to sell you their product and make promises. The waitresses seemed to be working hard, yet there were a handful of times they did not bring what we requested and we just chose to let it go. I'll keep coming back to this place a few times, since I want them to succeed and no town ever had too many brew pubs. (Tattoo parlors, on the other hand ...) The first time I went with my girlfriend was on a Saturday, and I am not making this up: the place was so loud that we could not hear each other talk. I mean like take the enamel off your teeth loud. I remember a Who concert that was quieter. We had to leave because we had planned to actually talk to each other. A later visit on a weeknight was better. I figured out the ordering system without too much trouble (I'm a smarty) but I thought it seemed anti-intuitive. Maybe it will keep away the muddle-headed locals. The fish and chips was good, though almost over-cooked. The salad was fine, and there is a pickled veggie dish that was good. I had an IPA that was perfectly drinkable, and my companion had a hard cider that she liked. Water refills took a while. On the plus side, they do have a parking lot -- which is rare for a downtown Oly eatery. Like I said, I want them to succeed. But they have a ways to go. read more

We had the opposite experience as many of the reviews. Our waitress was supper friendly and attentive. Our food...girls had grilled cheese sandwiches and they were burnt. Husband had sandwich and it was burnt. We should of sent it back but due to traveling time just ate. I had a salad with Salmon and it tasted like I was eating a salt block could not finish it. Olympia's newest micro brewery located in downtown Olympia. There are 2 sides of the brewery: a family side and a bar side, both include the on site brewed beer and a small but good bar menu. Briefly: 1) They need to improve their beer/food menu boards. 2) Their beers are pretty good. 3) Their food is outrageously mediocre. 4) Pricing is a bit steep, for what it is. 5) Service is meh. 1. They seriously need a food menu board. It's so weird to have to wait in line for 5+ minutes, get to the counter, and stumble through an order because it's the first time you're seeing the menu, and there's still a line behind you. Also, they need to add just A COUPLE more details to their beer menu board (current saison, May 2015, is aged in wine barrels, which isn't mentioned ANYWHERE, resulting in a very fruity beer). 2. The beer is pretty great. Tastes like homebrew, which is fine, but certainly a specific thing. The Sun IPA is great. The Rain IPA is less hoppy. 3. Ughhhh the food. I had the pear salad the first time I came here, which was pretty good. The bacon is AMAZING. This time I had a vegan patty made in the "Jamburger" style (I don't eat beef). IT WAS THE WORST VEGAN PATTY I'VE EVER HAD. Seriously. This coming from someone who was vegan for eight years. Overall, flavorless, dry, gross. The homemade ketchup is also disgustingly sweet. Such an easy fix for something homemade!! My partner's mac n' cheese was "totally just fine." For "bourgie" mac n' cheese, they need to add something-- ANYTHING!-- to make it worth it. 4. Pricing is a bit steep for what it is. Which is, a brewery in Olympia. Where you can get beers for $2 down the street. I just spent $40+ there for dinner for two, and the food isn't even good. The place has fancy food/beer pricing for not that fancy of a product. 5. Look. I get it. You order at the counter. But there's some kinks to work out. It's SO WEIRD to order a beer, then be put in a ticket line to be served? Instead of the guy just turning around and pouring you the beer. Seems inefficient. This is the biggest thing that should be changed, regarding service/ordering at the counter. Get food somewhere else. Get some beers here, they're good and taste super microbrew-y.
