Can't say enough great things about this place! Did my initial consult with Anthony (who is leaving ), and he did/said everything right in terms of what I wanted edited on my originally drawn design. So the name is now Three Hammers Tattoo, as Pieter took over the business last summer. The original owner, Anthony, still works out of the shop. While I understand their art work is good from friends (and the Instagram photos look great), customer service, not so much, imo. Called to see if they were open now during COVID and if they would honor a Bad Fish Tattoo gift certificate I had gotten my wife for our anniversary but that she had not used, as I was looking to get 1 or 2 pieces done. New owner, Pieter, said he did not honor certificates from the old shop name, and, when after asking, said neither would the prior owner, Anthony. They didn't even ask how much the certificate was for. So now, instead of getting a new customer, cash for additional work, and future references, they get this review instead. My daughter Eliza, got her first tattoo today with Pete. While she's young (16 yrs old, so I accompanied her), this particular design and having it as a tattoo was very important to her so I agreed to it. Naturally, she was very scared but really wanted to do this. After reading the reviews and doing our homework, Bad Fish seemed like the best place for us to go and they certainly lived up to their reputation! The studio was pristine and bright (loved the giant octopus on the wall!), and Pete was super nice and made us feel totally comfortable and relaxed throughout the process. I'm really happy I checked these guys out. I had been meaning to get my first tattoo fixed up for some time now, but was on the fence whether I wanted to cover it up or just clean it up. It was a celtic spiral and the black lines all bled together over the past 15 years so it turned into three ugly ink blots. When I went to other tattoo shops in the past asking if they could clean it up, they just brushed it off and turned me away, citing the fact that it was too small (the size of a quarter) and they essentially weren't up for the challenge of helping me out. I read about Bad Fish and stopped in one day to get their opinion. Anthony, the owner, was awesome and the one who completely fixed my tattoo. Come in to get 3 small simple inks. They fitted me in without an appointment. The job was nicely down and they also give you a little aftercare to-go bag with instructions, not many tattoo shop does that. And the whole place looks clean and neat, very female/clean cut guys friendly. You know, the old style gangster/biker tattoo shop with all sexy women tattoo designs on the wall turns me off. I'm fairly new to the area so I was researching my options and stumbled upon this shop. I went in this week with an appt with Pieter and he did an incredible job. The work seemed effortless to him even though it was my most involved tattoo to date and he really made it look like a painting on my arm. The shop is clean and is split into private little cubes so you're not getting your work done in the middle of the shop like some places I've been. Anthony and his team are such professionals! Anthony gave me exactly what I wanted and I had to make no corrections or changes! I asked for an underwater scene in which it looked like my skin was being ripped open with an aquarium in it and my ribs incorporated. This place is 5 stars all the way! About a month ago I went in to get a tattoo from Anthony after a long a lengthy research process on my end. I am so glad i decided to go with bad fish. From the first phone call, Anthony and the other guys there have been fantastic to deal with. I came in with a design and from there I left it to Anthony's expertise to adjust it in a way that would translate great into a tattoo and he never steered me wrong. I've been getting tattooed by Anthony Neave for about a year an a half, I've spent more time with him in the last 18 months than I have with most of my family, and let me be the first to say that his work always exceeds any expectations I have. I know that there are a lot of places to choose from when getting a tattoo or piercing but the guys at Badfish tattoo really are the best, and always pay great attention to detail. The updated studio, which used to be known as Ravens Nest has been gutted and cleaned out completely, it's a very comfortable place to go and get tattooed or pierced, unlike other sketchy places in the area and surrounding towns. From custom art, to tribal pieces, even flash art, these guys do it all and they always take the time to work with me and anyone else I've ever seen there. In the past month I saw Pieter for a new tattoo, coverup and two touch-ups. The new tat and touch-ups were pretty simple and straight forward but the cover up blew me away!! It far surpassed my expectations. Previously, I had a vine of flowers on my ribs that was actually a cover up form an older tat but was poorly done. I wanted it covered again but with a colored feather and I explained my vision to Pieter. I was freaking out because I've wanted this fixed for so long and was so relieved with the result. This tat doesn't even feel like a cover up of a past mistake.... its so beautiful. Also, Pieter is super friendly, laid back and charges a VERY fair price. The studio is clean and provides privacy.
