So, I was in the area and really stumbled on this spot. I sat in the parking lot for a few minutes reading reviews before I decide to go in. I couldn't decide if it was worth my time and money to try this spot out. I decide to venture in after reading reviews.. From the parking lot It looks a lot smaller than it really is. I'm a bar guy at my core so I was trying to figure out the bar situation was about. To my surprise the bar situation was very much to my liking. It's what I call a throw back bar. Dark wood everywhere. FYI, it appears smoking is allowed, which would ordinarily be a major turn off for me. But there was only one guy at the bar smoking and he wasn't seated near me so that worked out. I was a little concerned because the bar tender "mercedes" was not wearing a mask, but all the other employees were masked up...I had a beer so i didn't get a chance to see what mercedes bar tending skills were.., but she did pour a good beer if that counts. I come here about once a week since my cravings have started kicking up for a buffalo chicken wrap. They are the only restaurant in the Atlanta-area (that I know of) that cooks the steak fries the way I like them. The service is always great at this particular location and though their sanitation rating could be higher, I definitely enjoy calling my order in (since it's always the same now) and them greeting me by name and knowing exactly what I want. Three Dollar Cafe Jr. opened Spring 2012 in the busy Terrace at Windy Hill shopping center near the intersection of Windy Hill and Powers Ferry, not far from I-75. Other restaurants in this shopping center include Fuddruckers, Barker's Red Hots, Red Elephant Thai Cuisine, and 7 Star Chinese Restaurant. Three Dollar Cafe Jr. opened in the former IZBA Crepes & Grill space. This restaurant serves American bar food. They're best known for their wings. They have their own special house sauce along with teriyaki, regular and spicy BBQ, lemon pepper, and garlic Parmesan. Party trays of up to 500 wings are available for order. The menu consists mainly of salads, sandwiches, wraps, burgers, and other foods like chicken fingers, chili cheese fries, nachos, and quesadillas. Prices are reasonable as most entrees are just under $10 each. I stopped by for Friday lunch with some coworkers and the restaurant was slammed -- a stark contrast to the days of empty IZBA. The restaurant is two stories, but the overall space is small, definitely fitting of the suffix "Jr." It's like they tried to fit a full sports bar into a tiny cafe. When it's busy, the dining area feels crammed. There are several TVs, limited outdoor patio seating, and the atmosphere can get loud. I had a Reuben sandwich ($8.25) which consisted of toasted marble rye bread, thinly sliced corned beef, Swiss cheese, sauerkraut, and dressing, served with a side of squash casserole and French fries. My tablemates ordered the chicken wrap, egg burger, and Southwestern chicken salad. The food took an inordinately long time to come out. The portions were huge. I thought the Reuben was okay. It was certainly filling, but probably the messiest Reuben I ever ate. Dressing was spilling out everywhere including all over my hands. Good thing each table has a roll of paper towels. The squash casserole was overly cheesy and unmemorable and the fries were dense and bland. My coworkers seemed satisfied with their orders except for the one who got the salad. The salad didn't look appetizing, resembling a prepackaged or bagged salad in a bowl, and most of it was left untouched/uneaten on the table. The egg burger did look cool with it's sunny side up egg and sweet potato fries (side substitute), so burgers may be the way to go here. Our server was Alicia and she did a good job. She was mindful of our table and was proactive in separating checks. It wasn't her fault our orders took so long to arrive. I think this is technically a "Three Dollar Cafe Jr" - which until last night I didn't even know existed! - but regardless, it's your typical fare and setting (if much smaller) you'd expect from Three Dollar. Feeling indecisive about dinner last night, I decided wings sounded good so I ventured across the street from my hotel to this little spot. Lemon pepper wings were good (note- the smallest order is 10 which is always more than I can eat so I have to say I like it better when places offer the smallest order as six) and a small house salad to go with made me feel like I was at least eating sort-of healthily. I was in the mood for fish tacos one Saturday night and I didn't want tilapia. My friend said he knew of a spot. Man, he didn't lie. I was in fish taco heaven. The meal came with 3 tacos, filled with fresh fried grouper, lettuce, and the bomb pico on top. The pico had a bit of a quick to it and I loved it! The tacos were so filling that I couldn't eat them all. For $10 you can't go wrong. My friend ordered the same meal. The drinks were great too. You definitely knew they had alcohol on them. We ordered a Hennesey margarita and Coconut 1800 with pineapple juice. Each of those drinks were between $9-$10. We only needed one drink! They have an everyday happy hour where certain drinks are $5.95. I tried the long island but thought it had a weird minty taste. I sent it back without a problem. We sat outside. It's not much to look at ouy back besides the parking lot. The back of the restaurant seemed like a nice place to chill. You could sit around the bar, at high tops, or on some of the couches and enjoy a game on the flatscreens. My friend has been telling me he and his colleagues visit after work because of the drinks. Great spot if In the Marietta area. This spot was recommended as a cool little chill spot. The cafe is located on a plaza in which I would not have expected this place to be a hidden gem. When you first walk in there is an upstairs seating area but there is a back bar cigar lounge area when you order drinks, food, and listen to music. There is also a patio area right off the cigar sports bar area. Currently the weather is a little nippy so I decided to stay inside. I was told I could sit anywhere so I chose to sit in the leather chair section near the bar. As soon has I we sat down we were greeted by Mercedes. She was friendly and knowledgeable for drink and food selections. Looking around I saw there were a few people ordering the fish tacos so I opted for the majority. Even though it looked good I'm a sucker for wings so I ordered the Lemon Pepper and spicy Lemon pepper. Also I ordered a Old Fashioned, Pineapple or Mango Moscow mule, and a Henny Margarita. Omg!!!!!!! Best fish tacos ever had in my life. It was like the they gave me three tacos each the size of a whole fish filet and i was full. The lemon pepper was amazing. Three Dollar cafe on Windy Hill is the only location I've been to so I'm only speaking solely on my experience at this particular location. I happen to live across the street from the plaza which makes this things very convenient for eating options. Typically I call in for to go orders for my wife and 4 year old daughter, last week I walked in to place an order for my child in which my child was present with me. The cashier(woman) who took my order explained to me I could not order a kids meal to go for my 4 year daughter because it was under $10. This was situation occurred in front of my daughter and it took her being their to remain humble. I then asked for the manager to see if this policy was true since it wasn't noted on the menu and I've never heard a restaurant with rules that prevents children from eating. Instead of leaving and not spending my money there I decided to buy my wife along with my child food to reach the $10 minimum orders; but ultimately knowing I would never spend my money there again. The food quality here has seriously declined. Ordered the cheesesteak and it was ok, but the fries seemed as if they had been steamed vs fried. They were wet and simply limp as a noodle. There have been a lot of changes lately in the cigar bar and most of them were for the best. I liked the baskets with the sanitizer on the tables and bar. I liked that there was a hookah option for those who do not smoke cigars. I also like that I had an option for a specialty drink. Best wings I've had in a long time. I stopped here for lunch on a Thursday and was seated immediately. My friend and I split the 10 piece wings, getting half BBQ and half hot lemon pepper. My only regret is that we didn't get all of them hot lemon pepper. They were so juicy, the perfect size, and crazy good. Their lemon pepper seasoning has more of a lemon taste, which helps the flavor pop through the hot sauce. The BBQ was decently good, but wasn't anything special. I also ordered the french dip sandwich, was was perfect. The au jus was just seasoned enough without being too salty, which is a problem with most french dips. My only gripe is that the steak fries were giant lumps of potato. They weren't seasoned very well and needed something extra. For a sports bar, I'd expect much better fries.
